God Seed
Chapter 6 – A Little Girl's Wish
The morning sunlight gently entered the small room. I slowly opened my eyes and stared at the unfamiliar ceiling for a few seconds.
Ah… right. I'm no longer in my old life.
I had almost forgotten — I was now living someone else's life in a completely different world.
After washing my face, I joined Jun's family for a simple breakfast. The atmosphere was warm and quiet.
While eating, I looked at the little girl sitting beside Jun and asked, "Jun, what's your daughter's name?"
Jun smiled proudly. "Her name is Junia."
Jun then turned to me. "Brother, you're new to this city. Why don't you go with Junia to her school today? She has a duel exam in the arena. You can walk around the city with her and see a bit of it."
Junia's eyes sparkled with excitement. She looked up at me and said cheerfully, "Uncle! Uncle! Come with me to school. I'll show you around the entire school!"
I nodded lightly. "Alright, let's go then."
Soon, Junia and I left the house together and headed toward her school. As we walked, the little girl suddenly held my hand. Her small, warm palm felt surprisingly comforting. For a moment, a faint, long-forgotten feeling stirred inside my chest — though it quickly faded due to the God Seed's influence.
While walking, Junia looked up at me curiously and asked, "Uncle, are you married?"
"No," I replied calmly.
She tilted her head. "Do you have a girlfriend?"
"No."
Junia blinked a few times, then said innocently, "But Uncle, you look so handsome… like a cold and cool prince. You should have many girlfriends and wives!"
I couldn't help but ask, "Why are you asking me all this?"
Junia smiled brightly. "Our school has many beautiful girls. And our teachers are also very pretty and kind. I want to introduce you to them!"
I looked at the enthusiastic little girl and said with a faint smile, "Do whatever you think is best."
When we entered the school grounds, Junia excitedly dragged me around and introduced me to several of her female teachers. Each of them greeted me politely, though a few gave me slightly curious and appreciative glances.
After the introductions, we made our way to the large duel arena. We sat together in the spectator seats.
I turned to Junia. "Will it be a problem if you sit here with me instead of preparing with the other students?"
Junia shook her head. "No problem at all, Uncle. When it's my turn to fight, I'll go down. My match is number 1021."
I nodded. "Okay."
Then I asked, "Are you nervous?"
Junia bit her lip and said in a small voice, "Uncle… I only have a One-Star Ice Type Beast. If I don't pass this exam, I won't get admission into High School. I need to be in the top 500 to pass…"
I stretched out my hand. "Show me your beast."
Junia summoned her small Ice Type Beast. It was indeed only at One-Star. I took out a 3-Star Beast Core from my pocket and fed it to the creature without hesitation.
One minute later, the beast suddenly released a powerful cold aura. It had jumped straight to the 9th step of One-Star — almost reaching the threshold of Two-Star.
Junia's eyes widened in shock. "U-Uncle… how?!"
She looked at me with pure gratitude and kept saying "Thank you" again and again.
I asked calmly, "How many ranks do you need to be in to pass?"
"Top 500," Junia replied anxiously.
I placed a hand on her head gently. "Don't worry. Almost everyone fighting here has beasts below Two-Star. With this, you'll easily pass. Just trust me."
Junia's face lit up with a bright smile. She suddenly hugged me tightly. "Thank you, Uncle!"
At that moment, the announcement echoed across the arena:
"Attention everyone! The first duel match will begin shortly!"
I leaned back in my seat and watched the bustling arena.
A little girl's innocent wish.
A small act of kindness.
Yet deep inside, I knew — in this cold new world where I had to feed souls to the God Seed every hour, even simple moments like this might not stay simple for long.
