Chapter 21 - Entering the Mansion, Arrow's Plan

[Support Mission · The Resurrection of Lazarus is now available!]

[Group Member · Lord of the White Holy Throne has signed up.]

[Lord of the White Holy Throne: Anyone else coming to join the fun?]

[AAA City Female Ghost: Recuperating in a water tank. Do not disturb.]

[Let Night City Burn: I don't think I'd be much help. I'll sit this one out.]

[Wordsmith of the Great Yan: I'd love to come… but honestly, I still can't even see anything yet.]

Well. Looks like it was another duo queue with Jonathan.

Anthony read through everyone's messages and let out a quiet sigh.

The chat group was still, frankly, in a deeply pitiful state. Getting Jonathan properly resurrected sooner rather than later should at least nudge things in a slightly better direction…

At minimum, once Jonathan was back on his feet, the group would have an actual fighter. Someone who could help out during support missions instead of Anthony having to go it alone every single time.

That said — this mission was absurdly fat.

Anthony stared at the upper reward cap of ten thousand Points, and felt, with complete self-awareness, that his eyes were already doing something slightly criminal.

God, I want it. I want it so bad. Poverty has done terrible things to my soul.

Of course, the startup costs for this run weren't exactly cheap either. He absolutely had to find a way to claim the lion's share of those ten thousand Points — otherwise this whole operation wouldn't even break even.

While turning this over in his head, Anthony glanced sideways at the 1,300 Points he'd scraped together after a full day of fishing, let out a slow breath, and without a moment's further hesitation, converted every last one of them into lifespan.

All in.

[Lord of the White Holy Throne: @Founder of the Golden Spirit — I'm heading over. What's the situation on your end?]

[Founder of the Golden Spirit: Desert's empty. It's afternoon. DIO's still in his coffin.]

[Founder of the Golden Spirit: Though — the flow of time here seems to be returning to normal again.]

[Lord of the White Holy Throne: Got it.]

Anthony typed out his reply and, in the same motion, submitted his traversal request to the JoJo world.

His mind was already working through the implications.

The time flow had returned to normal again… Going by the patterns so far, something significant must have just happened on Jonathan's end. Could it be that the Egypt team hunting DIO had already located his estate?

Anthony smacked himself lightly on the head, brow creasing.

If that was the case, they needed to move faster. Fall behind even slightly, and Jotaro's side could start taking casualties.

While Anthony was still running through the scenarios in his head, Jonathan had already approved his traversal request.

[Your Soul Foundation may only leave the Primordial River for one hour…]

Anthony read the system's warning and curled the corner of his mouth.

The next instant — [Spirit Application · Soul Splitting] activated.

A full thirteen hundred hours. Over fifty days of lifespan, cleaved apart by sheer force of will. Anthony left only roughly forty-eight hours' worth of reserves for his main body anchored to the Primordial River.

All in. Every chip on the table.

His consciousness blinked back into existence across that vast, split-off mass of soul energy — and this time, the traversal warning was gone entirely.

Then came the familiar sensation of being clubbed over the back of the head. Anthony's vision went dark. A flash of white. And then, spinning and disoriented, his form arrived in the world of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

[You have arrived in the world: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure]

Once again, Anthony's soul stood upon rolling golden sand.

He narrowed his eyes against the sweeping desert wind and turned to look back — and there, impossibly conspicuous in the distance, was the vast, looming estate.

DIO's manor.

He turned back and looked down.

The first thing that greeted him was the sight of Jonathan's thoroughly unhinged lower half. Below that — or rather, above it — he found Jonathan's soul, which had grown noticeably more solid than before.

"What's our next move?"

The moment Jonathan spotted Anthony, he wasted no time on pleasantries. He asked directly.

"…We don't have much time. Can those two legs still move?"

Anthony thought for a moment before asking. When Jonathan shook his head, Anthony turned to study the legs for a beat, running through options.

Then — in the very next instant — soul energy poured outward.

[Spirit Application · Soul Attachment] activated.

At the point of contact on the legs, a small piece of flesh began to slowly, almost imperceptibly loosen. Then, under the precise direction of soul energy, it lifted — and floated gently into the air.

Jonathan's expression shifted:

"Mr. Anthony — what is…?"

"Hauling around an entire leg would be a liability."

Anthony glanced at his lifespan expenditure and answered plainly. "For what comes next, the resurrection doesn't require the whole lower half. A small piece of flesh is enough."

"Understood."

Jonathan considered it briefly, raised no further objections, and gave a single nod.

Anthony finally turned to face the distance — toward the great estate standing on the horizon. He began to drift forward, slow and steady, moving toward DIO's grim, foreboding manor.

"Let's go. Our next step is to get inside that estate…"

He spoke quietly as he floated forward, voice unhurried.

"And our next objective…"

"…is to obtain the Arrow."
