Chapter 39 - Atlus

As Isaac began to disintegrate, he saw the space around him stretch thin. As more of the world began to stretch to the same level as a thread, a new world began to unfold from a similar thread.

In a space in between universes which could only be described as [Void], Isaac reformed as his gaze fell on the world unfolding in the distance. It looked close, but felt like it would take eons to make it there.

The world looked like a universe constantly expanding. As Isaac began to be drawn into a cluster of galaxies, he felt as he travelled past the boundaries of the [Void] and into a new universe.

Following the pull, Isaac was drawn to a planet, completely covered in green. At first glance, it looked like the sky of this planet was green, and not blue like Earth, or the world where he first was.

As Isaac tried to take in all this planet had to offer, he also turned incredibly thin and began to be pulled into the planet at light speed. Right before Isaac broke the atmosphere. black sludge grabbed onto him, forcing him to a halt.

Isaac was then forcibly unfolded and stood in a familiar place, it was the black sludge of Anix's world, where all wanderers first went when being transported.

Isaac stood up, and quickly took in everything he could. Unlike before, Isaac had more experience this time, and could clearly sense that the black sludge was made of magic, but could also produce magic that normally wouldn't work.

Isaac was tempted to take some for himself, but he felt that his true world was separate from himself right now, and he had a hunch that Anix was the reason for this. As Isaac began to walk around the sludge, a tall, skinny figure sat on a chair looking at Isaac.

As Isaac walked around, he saw this figure look at him with glossy eyes that were like pale smoke, his skin was almost translucent with how pale it was. His face was nothing to scoff at as well his whole body looked like the perfect lean build, but was starved of all fat and most of its muscle.

The man wore a three piece suit that didn't seem to wrinkle no matter how the man swayed in his seat, it definitely made Isaac feel out of place, as he seemed to be in his school clothes again, even though most of it was destroyed in the two months Isaac spent in the forest.

Isaac approached that man, who waved his hand and made a second chair across from his own. Isaac slowly sat down, but didn't speak, instead, he studied that man and his mannerisms.

The man seemingly let Isaac do so, but he wasn't going to let Isaac do so easily.

"So, Isaac Wright, how was your journey in that world?"

The man leaned his head against his fist, which was supported by his arm on the arm of the chair. As the man spoke, Isaac seemed taken aback, as the voice that left the man was the same as Anix's, which normally was a deep voice that seemed to carry the weight of all worlds.

Isaac leaned back on the chair and spoke.

"It was certainly something, but I proved myself to be someone of worth.

Anix let out a chuckle at the mention of worth.

"That you did, Isaac, but in my opinion you made yourself worth too much. A global rebellion is in the palm of your hands. And yet you chose to focus on capitalism and tricks from Earth."

"Even a monkey would be shocked by its own reflection, Isaac, make sure you know your own."

Isaac seemingly took those words to heart, much like the words Anix first told Isaac. As the two looked at each other, the silence began to grow longer, until it fell to a crack point that forced Isaac to move.

"So you have been watching me survive, I wonder what it's like to be able to see someone without them even knowing. Let me ask you something, Anix. Since you are so capable, why is it you sit here in this sludge?"

Anix was about to laugh at what Isaac had said at first, but quickly stopped at his question.

"There are many things you can learn at your level, Isaac, but the things that would kill you are far greater, and my situation here is one of those."

"If you are so curious, maybe your origin trait could help you find that answer, but I would suggest learning more about what is inside yourself first."

Isaac was taken aback at the mention of the origin trait, but he felt like this would quickly be the norm for talks with Anix, if there was any more to be had.

"And what exactly do you mean by inside myself, Anix? There is a lot of me to understand, but I have a feeling you don't mean my femur."

As Isaac tried to keep his cool, a slight remark came out, but he felt like Anix wouldn't care much, as they seemed to understand that the riddles that Anix was speaking in would always provoke a reaction like that.

Anix seemed to look elsewhere before responding.

"The three places you should look are your main trait, your origin trait, and your True world. If you figure them out, then you can understand everything you wish to, including how to go home to Earth."

Isaac lit up at the mention of Earth, but remembered to take everything with a grain of salt, but it was hard to stay focused now. Isaac pinched himself to keep his cool and asked the next question.

"Why do I need to look into my true world? I would say I already understand what makes it work."

One of Anix's eyes raised, and he spoke in a mocking tone as he looked at Isaac.

"Oh really, then what makes it work then?"

Isaac, without thinking, blurted out.

"It uses everything I learn to grow.

Isaac quickly covered his mouth, but it didn't stop Anix's world shattering laughter.

"You really think your true world is built from your learning experiences. HA, you have so much to learn, Isaac, but there isn't much I can't tell you, but I can tell you something."

Deep rage seemed to boil from somewhere deep inside Isaac, but he held it deep down as Anix kept speaking.

"Find the real form of your Main trait, and only then can your True world form."

Isaac's head began to spin, and blood began to pool in his nose. Anix clearly expected this, as he waved away the sludge holding the chairs and walked over to Isaac.

"Isaac, I hope that you will be better than the last one."

And as soon as Anix finished speaking, he waved his hand, and Isaac turned into a thread and entered the planet he was originally heading for.

Isaac's mind was shattered under Anix's words, and it wouldn't allow Isaac to think, as the next thing Isaac could remember was being on the floor of a cave, and looking out onto the sun covered hills, and a green sky planet.
