Chapter Fourteen — Villains of Sound and Stone
The villain team room was quiet except for the faint electrical hum of the lights above. Takeshi stood beside the supposed nuclear device, arms crossed, while Jiro paced in a tight circle around it.
"So…" Jiro said, glancing at him, "we're villains today. You ever done villain roleplay before?"
"No."
"Cool. Me neither."
She sighed. "Alright, big guy. What's the plan?"
Takeshi studied the building layout. "Todoroki will likely lead the attack. His ice seemed like a pretty attack-oriented quirk based on our quirk apprehension test."
Jiro blinked. "And Yaoyorozu?."
"I'm guessing she will support from the rear with devices to attack from range."
She smirked. "Right. Mr. Combat Analyst."
All Might's voice boomed through the speakers.
"TEAM C… TEAM J… BEGIN!"
They tensed as the battle began.
FWOOOOOOOM!
A massive wave of ice exploded through the hallway, freezing everything in its path. The temperature plummeted instantly — colder than anything Takeshi had ever felt.
His eyes widened.
So this is the scale of his quirk, and so fast...
Jiro screamed as the ice surged around her legs, locking her in place up to her knees.
"W‑What the hell?!"
Takeshi reacted quickly activating his quirk on his hands and legs, density increasing, skin hardening, stone‑like ridges forming along his forearms and calves.
He pulled his right foot free from the ice and then slammed it into the ground, cracking the ice around him.
Then he hit the ice trapping Jiro and shattered it with a few quick precise blows to avoid risk of injuring her.
Jiro stumbled free, gasping. "Holy— thanks!"
Takeshi nodded. "Stay behind me, things are about to get interesting.."
In the Control Room
From the observation room, All Might watched the monitors closely.
He didn't panic. Good.
He didn't overuse his quirk. Even better.
He assessed the situation instantly… just like she taught him.
His chest tightened with a mix of pride and worry.
Silver Comet trained him well… but this is a different battlefield.
Midoriya muttered rapidly beside him, scribbling notes.
"T‑Todoroki's ice output is incredible… the temperature drop must be at least— maybe— no, definitely below freezing— and Takeshi's quirk— density shift— that's so efficient—!"
All Might smiled faintly.
Young Midoriya… always observing.
But his eyes returned to Takeshi.
Let's see how far you've come, my boy.
Todoroki's Calm Advance
Jiro pressed her earphone jacks to the floor.
Far down the hallway, she could hear Todoroki walking forward at a steady, unhurried pace.
He didn't run. He didn't rush.
Her eyes widened. "He's moving… slowly. Like he's taking a stroll."
Takeshi nodded. "He believes the ice was enough and that the battle is already over."
"Well, it almost was," Jiro muttered. "He's heading clockwise. West hallway. Thirty meters… twenty… ten—"
Takeshi moved and stood around the corner of the hallway, back against the wall.
Then as Todoroki turned the corner towards him Takeshi launched forward with explosive force, stone ridges on his arms cutting through the air catching Todoroki by surprise.
Todoroki's eyes widened.
He threw up a thin ice wall on instinct—
CRASH!
Takeshi smashed through it with a single punch, shards flying everywhere.
Todoroki staggered back, shocked.
Jiro whistled from behind. "Damn…"
Todoroki retreated, firing ice blast after ice blast.
Takeshi didn't stop. He had the advantage, he'd already closed the distance and couldn't let the gap widen.
He tore through wall after wall, spear after spear, each impact shaking the building.
CRASH!BOOM!CRACK!
Todoroki's breath quickened. He'd never seen someone plow through his ice like this.
He tried to trap Takeshi's legs — Takeshi shattered the ice.
He tried to freeze Takeshi's arms — thick stone ridges formed and broke the frost instantly.
He tried to create distance — Takeshi closed it every time.
Todoroki was on the back foot — truly, undeniably — for the first time since coming to UA.
Todoroki fired a massive ice wave, desperate to slow him down.
Takeshi skidded back, boots digging into the frozen floor.
He exhaled.
Then activated his quirk fully.
Density Shift: Full Body.
His entire frame thickened. Stone protrusions erupted across his shoulders, back, chest, and arms — jagged, heavy, and powerful. His footsteps cracked the ice beneath him. Spikes formed on his feet giving him a solid grip on the slick surface. His already intimidating form grew, increasing all the way to 6'8".
Todoroki's eyes widened.
He wasn't using his full power before…?
From the observation room, All Might's heart pounded.
There it is… his limit.
You've grown, Takeshi and it's only now that I get to see it...
Outside the Building
Yaoyorozu stood outside, arms crossed, frowning.
"Todoroki told me to stay out here," she muttered. "But… this doesn't feel right."
She heard the crashes. The shaking. The relentless pursuit.
Her eyes widened. "He's in trouble."
She sprinted inside.
Jiro spotted her immediately having here the footsteps marking her approach.
"Oh great. The genius."
Momo summoned a collapsible staff. "I don't want to fight you."
"Yeah, well, we're villains today."
Jiro slammed her jacks into the floor, sending a shockwave of sound toward Momo.
Momo retreated and rolled away from the attack, grimacing as she received some scrapes from the sharp ice shards littering the ground. "You're stronger than you look!"
"Thanks! You're smarter than you look!"
They clashed — sound vs. strategy — neither gaining the upper hand.
The Final Clash
Todoroki stumbled into the central chamber, panting. Ice coated the walls, floor, and ceiling.
Takeshi stepped through the shattered remains of the last barrier, stone armor gleaming with frost. His footsteps cracking the concrete and ice beneath him with his increased mass and density.
Todoroki raised his hand, desperate and unleashed a massive ice wave—
Takeshi increased his pace like an avalanche and dropped his shoulder as the ice wave came towards him hit feet still moving.
Todoroki tried to freeze him solid—
Takeshi broke free, shattering the glacier before it had time to completely form.
Todoroki tried to retreat—
Takeshi grabbed him by his and slammed him to the ground. Knocking the wind out of him. His hand turned back into normal flesh and blood, and in it, the capture tape. He quickly wrapped it around Todoroki's wrist.
Todoroki gasped, defeated.
All Might's voice echoed through the building.
"TAKESHI YAGI HAS CAPTURED THE HERO TARGET!"
In the observation room, All Might exhaled slowly.
You did well, my boy.
Very well.
In the hallway near the nuclear device, Jiro and Momo were still locked in a stalemate — neither able to land a finishing blow.
Before their fight could be decided the buzzer sounded.
"TIME! THE MATCH IS OVER, VILLAINS WIN!"
Jiro lowered her guard. "Huh… guess we won."
Momo sighed. "It appears so."
Takeshi walked out of the chamber, stone armor cracking and falling away as he deactivated his quirk.
Jiro jogged over. "Dude. You beat Todoroki."
Takeshi panted but managed to get out. "This time."
Jiro stared at him.
Then grinned.
"Looks like we make a good team."
Takeshi nodded once, still not having had a chance to catch his breath and fatigued from having to push his quirk that far.
