Chapter 152 - Filvis's Choice

Sever the connection with the Corrupted Spirit?

Hearing the voice in her ear, Filvis's eyes widened suddenly, a look of surprise appearing on her face.

"Are you telling the truth?"

Lynn: "Of course it's true. However, this method has a serious side effect: you will be under my Binding Vow and will be unable to disobey any of my orders."

Filvis thought of the scene where Olivas was killed by her without any resistance: "Since I won't be able to disobey orders, why not just make a move on me directly? With your strength, you should be capable of doing that."

"Because someone pleaded for you."

Lynn glanced at Ryuu beside him: "She hopes you can have a better ending, so I'm giving the choice to you. However, before you make your choice, there's something I must tell you first."

Filvis: "What is it?"

Lynn replied: "Regarding Dionysus, you should understand how dangerous a god he is. For the sake of the Lower World, he must be repatriated to Heaven. If you cannot accept this, I can fulfill your other wish and help you fall into an eternal slumber."

Filvis: "..."

The expression on Filvis's face instantly froze.

In just a few seconds, her mood could be described as having great ups and downs, truly experiencing what a roller coaster felt like.

However, she also understood why Lynn insisted on repatriating Dionysus to Heaven.

Just as he said, Dionysus was a very dangerous god.

Since he could come up with one Orario destruction plan, he could come up with a second or a third.

If Dionysus wasn't repatriated to Heaven, he would only cause more trouble for the Lower World.

"Is there no room for negotiation?"

After a long while, Filvis asked one last time.

"None."

Lynn gave his answer.

"I understand."

Filvis closed her eyes.

To go down the dark path with Dionysus until the end, or to accept Lynn's proposal to take revenge on the Corrupted Spirit.

This seemingly two-choice question was actually a single-choice one for her.

She could not forgive the Corrupted Spirit.

If Olivas was the culprit who set up the powder keg for the 27th Floor nightmare, then the Corrupted Spirit was the murderer who brought the spark and lit it.

The other party killed her companions, then killed her, turning her into this Monster form.

Now that the opportunity for revenge was before her, if she chose to give up, she wouldn't be able to rest in peace even in death.

"I am willing to accept your transformation."

Filvis opened her eyes, her deep blue pupils no longer containing a trace of confusion.

"In that case, let's begin."

Having received her response, Lynn didn't delay and immediately reached out to plunge his hand into Filvis's body.

"Huh?!"

Ryuu was startled by this scene.

Although she knew Lynn wouldn't talk big, she didn't expect the method of severing to be so crude.

"Don't worry, it'll be fine."

Lynn reassured her, as a large amount of blood flowed along his fingertips into Filvis's body.

Just like the previous two times, the magic stone inside Filvis's body sent out a wave of energy, attempting to clear out Lynn's blood.

But Lynn, having experience from the past two times, decisively increased the dosage and crushed the wave of energy.

After a few breaths, the blood suppressed the multicolored magic stone, severing the connection between the Corrupted Spirit and Filvis.

Lynn withdrew his palm from Filvis's body: "How do you feel now?"

"Very comfortable," Filvis replied.

The immortality brought by the Monster physique and the Blood of Evolution took effect, and the wound in her abdomen completed its regeneration.

However, compared to the physical recovery, she cared more about the mental change at this moment.

The voice was gone.

The voice that had appeared in her mind six years ago and had continuously harassed her was finally gone.

Standing in place to enjoy a moment of peace, Filvis opened her eyes again and looked at Lynn.

"Can you do me one more favor?"

"I can."

"...?"

So direct, not even going to ask?

"There's no need to ask."

Lynn raised his hand and tapped his head: "I know very well what you're thinking right now."

...

Loki Familia.

The short break after the expedition came to an end.

Led by Raul and others of the second tier, the members of the Loki Familia returned to their daily routines.

But just then, a cry of surprise rang out.

"Tiona has broken through to Level 6!"

"Hmm?"

"Huh? For real?!"

"Go take a look!"

Hearing that familiar voice, everyone in the Loki Familia dropped their work and ran to the first-floor hall in unison.

Just then, Tiona came skipping down from the second floor with a happy smile on her face.

"Tiona, you've broken through to Level 6?"

As the older sister, Tione was the first to rush up and ask.

"That's right! I'm Level 6 now!"

Tiona made a peace sign: "Hehe! Bet you didn't expect that, Tione, I'm faster this time!"

Tione looked curious: "What's the situation? How did you break through after not seeing you for two days?"

Tiona: "That's a long story. Wait a moment, there should be more good news."

Tione: "What do you mean?"

Bete frowned: "Hey! You damn Amazon, stop keeping us in suspense! Hurry up and tell us what you've been doing these past two days!"

"Tsk, what's with that attitude, you stinky wolf? Believe it or not, I'll beat you up!" Tiona rolled up her sleeves.

Previously at the Level 5 stage, the two of them were evenly matched in a fight.

But now it was different.

Not everyone was named Lynn, for whom fighting across levels was as simple as eating or drinking.

With her Level 6 stats, she was confident she could punch Bete so hard he wouldn't know which way was north in ten hits.

"If you want to fight, do it later. Business first."

Tione stopped Tiona in time.

It wasn't that she wanted to help Bete, but she was mainly too curious about how the other had broken through to Level 6.

"Aiz-tan is also Level 6!"

Just then, Loki's cry of surprise rang out again.

The conversation in the hall vanished instantly, and everyone froze in place as if a binding spell had been cast on them.

Seeing Tiona's expected look, they glanced at each other and fell into silence.

"Speaking of which, besides Aiz and Tiona, Lady Riveria also seems to have been away these past two days."

Raul noticed the key point.

After hearing his words, the scene became even quieter.

Even Finn, who was in the know, couldn't help but feel nervous at this moment.

A minute later, the sound of footsteps rang out.

Three figures walked down from the second floor.

"Riveria, did you succeed?"

Finn immediately walked up and asked.

"I failed; I'm still a little short."

A trace of regret appeared on Riveria's face.

"I see, that's a pity."

Finn also felt a bit of regret after hearing this.

To be honest, after hearing that Aiz and Tiona had broken through one after another, he really did fantasize that Riveria could also break through and become a new Level 7.

But looking at it now, she was still a little short after all.

"Come on, don't be so serious."

Loki's voice came from the side as she patted Finn's shoulder.

"It's a pity Riveria didn't break through, but she's not far off. To put it in terms of a progress bar, she's at 99%. Just one more decent battle and she'll reach Lv. 7."

"Is that so? Then it seems the gains were quite substantial."

Some of the regret in Finn's heart dissipated.

As one of the three senior members of Loki Familia, he had always adventured alongside Gareth and Riveria.

Because of this, the three of them had always accumulated their deeds at a similar pace, and he was well aware of their respective progress.

Originally, he and Riveria would have needed at least two or three more expeditions, each involving a life-and-death battle, to gather enough deeds.

The fact that Riveria was only one step away upon her return meant her gains within the Dungeon were no less than Aiz and Tiona's.

"Raul, go book a table at Hestia's restaurant. We're celebrating Aiz and Tiona reaching Lv. 6 tonight."

"Yes, sir!" Raul turned and left the hall.

"Riveria, let's talk somewhere else."

After informing the remaining members about the dinner time, Finn left the hall with Riveria. Loki, the main deity, and Gareth, the other member of the 'Big Three,' also followed.

With those in charge gone, the members of Loki Familia all turned their attention to the two remaining protagonists.

"Aiz, what did you do these past two days?" Knowing Tiona disliked him, Bete chose a different target to question.

Aiz didn't hide anything. "We went to the 37th floor with Lynn and encountered a powerful enemy there."

Bete pressed further. "And then?"

Aiz: "After defeating that enemy, we broke through."

Bete's eye twitched. "..."

Aren't you skipping over a bit too much?

Where are the details? What happened to all the details?

"Let me explain."

Seeing Tiona chatting with Tione and Aiz unable to clearly recount the events, Lefiya finally stepped forward.

As an outstanding graduate of the academy, Lefiya was quite eloquent. In just a few sentences, she clearly explained what had happened.

Of course, she completely skipped over the parts about the Xenos, as Riveria had specifically instructed.

Even so, everyone was still astonished by the experiences of Aiz and the others.

"A mutated Udaeus , a Monster-like spirit... I wish I had gone with you." Tione said with complex emotions.

To improve her favorability, she had spent the past two days running errands for Finn, completely unaware of Aiz and the others' movements.

This meant she had no idea when they went to the deep floors. She only learned today what they had done.

"By the way, Lefiya, didn't you break through?"

"I accumulated enough deeds, but God Loki said my magic power still has room for growth. It's best to push it to the limit before breaking through."

"I see. Well, do your best then."

Tione felt Loki's approach was correct. Nodding in agreement, she then steered the conversation to other topics.

As time passed, the atmosphere in the hall didn't cool down but instead grew even more lively.

Including Tione, everyone was eagerly asking for details about the mutated Udaeus  and the Corrupted Spirit's clone, wanting to understand the events better.

But just then, a *BOOM* echoed from the distance.

Tione and the others paused, momentarily stopping their conversation to step outside the hall and look in the direction of the sound.

"Huh? What's going on?"

Lefiya exclaimed in surprise, her eyes wide.

In their line of sight, a pillar of intense white light stood tall, connecting heaven and earth.

Lefiya was no stranger to this pillar of light.

Just a month ago, she had seen an identical sight in the direction of Ishtar Familia.

That was... the sign of a deity being sent back!
