Chapter 16 - Chapter 15: Brock and Misty Twist Their Waists – Brock Reunites with His Father!

**BOOM!**

The arena floor shook violently as Onix crashed head-first into the ground, tripped by Pikachu's Grass Knot. The massive Rock Snake's entire body slammed down, carving a deep crater and spraying gravel in every direction.

"That looked like it hurt…" Alex muttered, wincing in sympathy as he watched the impact.

Pikachu peered over the edge of the pit, nodding solemnly. "Pika…"

Onix lay motionless in the crater, eyes spinning in dizzy circles, completely unable to battle.

"Onix… lost?" one of the kids whispered in disbelief.

"No way! Pikachu's so tiny—how could it beat Onix?!"

"What was that vine move? I've never seen anything like it!"

The children grumbled, refusing to accept that their big brother had just been defeated by a little yellow mouse. Previous challengers from Pallet Town had been strong, but none had ended Brock's Onix in a single strike.

Misty leaned toward the kids with a patient smile. "That was Grass Knot. It deals more damage the heavier the opponent is. Onix is huge *and* it has a four-times weakness to Grass-type moves. One hit and it was lights out."

The explanation made sense to them, but the moment they remembered this pretty big sister was on the challenger's side, their faces fell again. They muttered sulkily in their high-pitched voices, spirits crushed.

Misty didn't mind. Her attention had already drifted to the gym entrance. A familiar figure stood just outside the doors, watching silently. He wasn't looking at Alex or the battlefield—he was staring straight at Brock.

**CLAP!**

Brock clapped slowly, eyes wide with genuine astonishment. "I lost. When you sent out Pikachu I thought you were just another clueless rookie. After that battle, I see how wrong I was. You planned every move perfectly."

He shook his head in respect. "You're the strongest Trainer from Pallet Town I've ever faced."

Alex smiled modestly. "I just got lucky and taught Pikachu a couple extra moves. If we'd stuck to pure type match-ups, I wouldn't have stood a chance against you."

"Too humble," Brock replied, recalling Onix. "Your strength is anything but rookie-level. And that Pikachu… its power is off the charts."

"Alex from Pallet Town—I'll remember you. I look forward to our next battle someday."

"Same here," Alex said, stepping forward to shake Brock's hand.

Misty walked over and gave Alex's sleeve a light tug, nodding toward the doorway. "Uncle, the battle's already over and you're still lurking outside?"

Alex called out before Flint could slip away. "Hey, Uncle! Your house is made of solid stone and you know everything about this gym. You're clearly a Rock-type specialist too, right? Come inside and talk strategy with Brock!"

Flint paused mid-step, one foot already out the door. Alex pressed on with a grin. "You've been living alone up on that mountain for years. Don't you miss talking shop? Opportunities like this don't come around often—once you walk away, the shop's closed for good!"

Brock turned, catching sight of that familiar back. His whole body stiffened, words caught in his throat.

Flint's shoulders trembled. He slowly pulled his foot back, gritted his teeth, and stepped fully into the gym. He approached without meeting Brock's eyes, body tense with emotion. Brock's own expression wavered, years of buried feelings crashing over him like a tidal wave.

Alex quietly stepped aside, giving father and son space.

Misty nudged Alex with her shoulder. "What's going on with them? They're acting so weird."

Alex smirked down at her. "You really can't tell?"

"Of course I can," she huffed automatically.

"Then tell me."

Misty opened her mouth, realized she had nothing, and immediately flushed with annoyance. "If I could tell, why would I ask *you*?!" She grabbed his arm and twisted hard.

Alex's enhanced physique barely felt it, but he played along for her sake. "Ow! Stop twisting!"

"Does it actually hurt?" she asked, eyes sparkling with mischief as she tightened her grip.

"Duh!"

"I barely used any strength—how could it hurt?" Misty laughed, squeezing even harder, her body pressing closer.

*Fine, you asked for it…* Alex's hand shot out and landed on her slender waist, fingers splaying possessively over the soft curve of her hip. The thin fabric of her top did nothing to hide the heat of her skin. He pulled her flush against him, thumb stroking slow circles right above the waistband of her shorts.

Misty's breath hitched sharply. "Let go!"

Her cheeks burned scarlet as she slapped at his hand, but he slid it lower, palm gliding over the swell of her ass for a split second before she smacked him away again. Each slap only made him chase her touch more boldly. Her nipples stiffened instantly against her tight tank top, two hard little peaks clearly visible now.

"Let go together!" she hissed, face flaming, thighs pressing together as fresh slick heat flooded her panties. She could feel herself getting wetter with every teasing brush of his fingers—her clit throbbing at the memory of his hungry stare on her bare tits earlier. Part of her wanted him to slide that hand lower, slip under her shorts, and find out exactly how soaked she was.

Alex finally released her waist and danced back a step, grinning like a devil. Misty yanked her hand free and lunged at him, but he was already darting away faster than Pikachu on Quick Attack.

While the two of them chased and teased each other around the edge of the arena—laughing, flushed, and breathless—Flint quietly apologized to Brock. Years of distance melted away in a few heartfelt words. Father and son finally reconciled, eyes shining with unshed tears.

"Alex, thank you," Flint said, voice thick with gratitude once the moment passed. "You got me to come inside. Those words you said… they hit deep. And the way you kept the kids distracted with Misty gave me the space I needed."

He studied Alex with new respect. "You're not like any ordinary Trainer. Your way of handling things is… different."

Alex waved it off with a easy smile. "It's nothing. I'm just a passing Trainer."

Brock suddenly remembered the formalities. "Oh—sorry, I almost forgot!" He reached into his pocket and handed over the gleaming badge. "Congratulations on your first Gym victory. Here's the Boulder Badge!"

**First Badge acquired!**

Alex stared at the smooth gray stone emblem in his palm, a quiet thrill running through him.

"That Boulder Badge is your first," Brock said warmly, "but it definitely won't be your last. I'm guessing you're aiming to collect all eight and enter the Indigo Plateau Conference. I can't wait to see how far you go."

**Task Completed: Help Brock and Flint reconcile!**

**Task Reward: Hard Stone (increases the power of Rock-type moves by 20% for the Pokémon holding it), Junior Rare Candy × 3**

The system chimed again immediately.

**Ding! New task triggered: Collect all eight Badges, compete in the Indigo Plateau Conference, and claim the Champion title!**

**Task Reward: Choose one Kanto Starter Pokémon's Mega Stone + Potential Evolution Medal (Bronze) – raises any Pokémon below Elite potential by one full rank.**
