Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3- THE DAY HE NOTICED :

"SOME MEETINGS DON'T END EASILY.... THEY WAIT FOR THE RIGHT TIME"

A WEEK LATER-

Vincent buried himself in work to avoid his thoughts

the factory was the same - loud machines- chaotic workers - endless repetition

work kept his mind busy ... but not completely .. his thoughts often drifted back ..

a soft voice .. and a mysterious girl he didn't know the name of ..

By noon , the air inside the factory felt heavier than usual .. he asked for a half day

"I need some air"

The public park was near...

calm ... quite ,,,untouched by the rush

Vincent walked in slowly

Not expecting ... not searching... just to relax

he sat on the wooden bench and rested his back ...

Leaves shifted gently in the breeze ..

a few kids were playing Tag .. unaware of their surroundings .. one of the little girl tripped near the pathway .. a small thud .. followed by a sharp ,startled cry

His knees scraped against the gravel

for a second no one moved- and then -

She did ... yes she was there ..

kneeling beside the child...crying to calm her down

"Its okay" she said softly

the same voice .. calm and steady

"It hurts"...

"But you are okay" she said gently

She reached into her bag and pulled out a small cloth .. carefully , she brushed the dust away and wrapped the cloth carefully .

"See? not that bad ... you can go back to play but don't run too fast .. a but slower, okay?

the girl nodded , wiping off the tears ..

"brave" she said softly patting her little head

An adult voice called from a distance-probably her mother, the girl stood up and went to her as it was normal .

Vincent watched all the scene from at a distance

the way she spoke, she moved, she cared .. felt .. familiar ..not in memory but in feeling

He didn't realise that he had taken few steps closer until- She turned

Their eyes met ... A short pause then-

"You help people like that often?'

she paused ... replied "Only when they need it"

Vincent nodded slightly .. Not sure what else to say

he saw the hardcover book in her hand

" what are you reading?" he asked eventually

"Literature"

"you like it?"

"yes" .. she replied coldly

Vincent:" I don't think I've ever read something i liked'

that made her look at him again .. curious

"Maybe you don't even know what you like or haven't found the right one yet"

He let out a faint breath- ".. or maybe I'm not the type "Umm.. i don't think there is a type"

" just the right moment"

Right after .. she took her bag on her shoulder and walked away with a soft smile

and strangely - Vincent didn't feel ignored

He sat there a little longer than he intended

long enough to realize - He didn't want to leave just yet

and for the first time ..

that felt like something
