Chapter 7 - EPISODE SEVEN: THE RISING MOON

" WHITE DOVE (CROSSOVER WITH CED AND LA FIERY) "

PREVIOUSLY:

The air in Manila felt different—heavier, charged with a static that only those with supernatural blood could sense.

At the White Dove's mobile command center, Ced stood over a holographic display of the city. His eyes, sharp and calculating, tracked the energy signatures left behind at the 15th Street Bank.

"The signature is messy," Ced remarked, his voice steady. "It's not just the Sigbinan's shadow energy. There's a trace of dark kitsune magic. Kaito is playing with his food."

In the corner, leaning against a rack of specialized weapons, was La Fiery. She flicked a lighter, the flame dancing with an unnatural orange hue that mirrored the intensity in her eyes.

"Let him play," she said with a dangerous smirk. "The bigger the fire he starts, the easier it is for me to find him. I didn't come all this way from headquarters to watch a bank robbery. I'm here for the fox."

The Dangerous Discovery

Meanwhile, in the alleyway, Jin Ae slowly took off her glasses. The thermal image of the glowing warrior was gone, replaced by the sight of Ethan—Baekhyun's friend—wiping sweat from his forehead.

"He's not just a hunter," Jin Ae whispered to herself, her mind racing. "He's the prey they're all looking for."

"Jin Ae, we have to go!" Monday hissed, tugging at her sleeve. "The police are swarming the area. If they find us with this tech, they'll confiscate everything!"

"Let them come," Jin Ae replied, a look of cold ambition crossing her face. "I have something better than a prototype now. I have leverage."

The Gathering Storm

Back at the hotel, Min Joon stood on the balcony, the spirit of the Haechi humming beneath his skin. He could feel the presence of other powerful entities nearby. He recognized the disciplined energy of Ced and the volatile heat of La Fiery. The White Dove had arrived in full force.

"Baekhyun," Min Joon called out into the room.

Baekhyun looked up from his phone, his face pale. "I just heard from the precinct. Aki was at the bank. He fired his weapon, Min Joon. He's acting erratic."

"It's not Aki," Min Joon said, turning around. "The Dark Gumiho has moved his pieces. He's using the people you love to flush out the Shadow. And if we don't move now, Ced and La Fiery will burn the whole city down just to catch one fox."

THE CONTINUATION:

The air near the industrial truck didn't just turn cold—it began to hum with the sound of tearing fabric. A jagged line of blue light sliced through the air, widening into a swirling portal.

From the shimmering rift, two women stepped onto the asphalt. Their clothing was unlike anything seen in the streets of Manila—intricate, reinforced fabrics that seemed to pulse with their own energy.

"Are you sure they went here, La Fiery?" Ced asked, her eyes scanning the area with a precision that felt almost robotic.

La Fiery didn't answer immediately. She tightened her jaw, her gaze darting toward the stacks of cargo boxes. "Someone was watching us," she muttered. She opened her right palm, and with a soft whoosh, a ball of concentrated orange flame ignited, casting long, dancing shadows against the brick walls.

Behind the crates, Jin Ae was breathless, her face illuminated by the distant glow of the fire.

"Did you see that, Monday?" she whispered, her eyes wide. "They look so... cool."

"You're crazy!" Monday hissed back, clutching her bag. "If you want to live long enough to inherit your grandfather's company, you need to stay alive. We need to go, now!"

Catherine nodded frantically. "Yeah, I'm with Monday. This isn't a game."

"Wait—" Jin Ae started, but she was cut off by a sudden, violent surge of power.

The Surge

La Fiery, sensing a presence she couldn't pinpoint, lashed out. Instead of fire, she channeled a massive bolt of raw electricity from her fingertips. The lightning arced upward, striking the nearby power lines with a deafening crack.

A wave of electromagnetic energy pulsed through the block. Streetlights shattered, car alarms wailed and died, and every electronic device in a two-block radius hissed into a blackout.

"What did you do, Gabby!" Ced yelled, shielding her eyes as the sparks rained down like golden snow.

La Fiery lowered her hand, the fire in her palm flickering out. "She's not here, Ced. My bad. My instincts are jumpy." She waved her hand dismissively, and the portal began to swirl back into existence.

"Okay, so you're just going to leave the city like this?" Ced asked, gesturing to the darkened buildings. "With no electricity?"

"Fine, fine! Here we go," La Fiery groaned. She snapped her fingers, sending a stabilizing pulse back into the grid. The lights flickered and groaned back to life, but the damage to sensitive tech was already done.

Inside the crates, Jin Ae screamed—not in fear, but in fury. A thick plume of grey smoke was pouring out of her specialized glasses.

"Argh! My invention!" she cried. She frantically tore the device apart, trying to reach the SD card slot where the recording of Ethan's transformation was stored. The plastic was hot to the touch, and the circuitry was charred.

"Let's go, Jin Ae!" Catherine urged, pulling on her arm. "You can try to retrieve the data back at the lab. We can't stay here!"

Jin Ae clutched the smoking SD card to her chest, her eyes burning with a mix of frustration and triumph. The hardware was fried, but if the data survived, she held the key to the Shadow's identity.

Ethan reached his apartment, his muscles aching from the transformation and the fight at the bank. He pushed the door open, expecting silence, but instead, he was greeted by the smell of old tobacco and forest rain.

An old man sat in the shadows of his living room. He wore a crisp, white Barong Tagalog and a weathered Salakot. On the left side of his chest, stitched in silver thread, was the unmistakable symbol of a White Dove.

"Who are you and how did you—" Ethan began, his hand instinctively reaching for a heavy lamp to use as a weapon.

"How I invaded your privacy is not important," the old man interrupted, his voice like gravel. "What matters is that you need help. The Dark Nine-Tailed Fox has begun his hunt, and you are the prize."

Ethan froze. "What do you mean?"

"The bank robber today was just a puppet," the old man replied, his eyes piercing through the dim light. "Did he say anything to you?"

The memory flashed vividly in Ethan's mind. He saw the robber's desperate face again. "You don't understand, Shadow... if I don't do this, they will kill my family."

"He said 'they' would kill his family," Ethan realized. "But he never said who 'they' were."

"Because he couldn't," the old man said. "He was a vessel for the Fox's influence. If the Dark Fox succeeds in killing you, he will regain the power of the nine tails we severed long ago to stop his reign of terror."

Ethan let out a long breath, finally lowering his guard. "Wait... do you want coffee or juice? And what do I call you, granny?"

"My name is Lucio," the old man said, a small, knowing smile playing on his lips. "I am a member of the White Dove."

The Mansion: A Fading Power

While Lucio shared his warnings, a scream of pure agony tore through the mansion's halls.

Kaito stood in the center of the dark room, his clothes tattered. Behind him, his magnificent tails were splayed out, but something was wrong.

"My Lord!" Calista gasped, pointing a trembling finger. "Your seventh tail... it's flickering! It's vanishing!"

Kaito whirled around, his eyes wide with horror. He watched as the shimmering, dark fur of his seventh tail turned to grey mist, dissolving into nothingness.

"No! My seventh tail!" he roared. The loss of the limb sent a wave of weakness through him, forcing him to one knee.

He looked up at his disciples, his face contorted with a mixture of rage and desperation. "I must kill the Sigbinan. I must drain his life force now, or I will lose everything I have fought for."

Calista and Daisuke exchanged a worried glance. They knew that a Gumiho losing its tails was like a king losing his crown—and a desperate king is the most dangerous kind of all.

In the quiet of Ethan's apartment, the air was still thick with the smell of Lucio's old-world tobacco. Lucio stepped aside, gesturing to the younger man standing in the shadows.

"Ethan, meet Min Joon. He is one of our elite operatives from the Korea base."

Min Joon stepped forward, a playful yet confident smile on his face. "Nice to meet you."

"Wait," Ethan said, his guard still up. "How did you people even know I was the vigilante?"

"You're predictable," Min Joon replied, his eyes dancing with mischief. "We watched your every move at the bank. You rely too much on your power and not enough on your technique."

Insulted, Ethan lunged forward, attempting a swift strike he'd used a hundred times as The Shadow. But Min Joon didn't flinch. In a blur of motion, he blocked the attack, swept Ethan's leg, and caught him firmly in his arms before he could hit the floor.

For a long moment, they stared into each other's eyes—the hunter and the guardian—until Lucio cleared his throat.

"That is exactly what we mean, Ethan," Lucio said gravely. "If you face the Nine-Tailed Fox now, he will capture you in seconds. You are the last Sigbinan we know of. You are a treasure of the Philippines, and we cannot let your existence be snuffed out."

"I'll train you," Min Joon added, his face turning serious. "I've got you, bro."

While Ethan prepared for war, Baekhyun was facing a different kind of monster: his own bloodline.

"You will obey me this time, Baekhyun!" his grandfather barked, his voice echoing in the grand hallway.

"What have you done, Grandpa?" Baekhyun demanded.

Jin Ae stepped out from the shadows, her eyes red with fury. "He kidnapped our mother, Baekhyun! He's using her as bait to make us follow his orders."

"I need a plan to make you listen," the old man said with a chilling smile. "You're just as stubborn as your father was."

"You did this because of a 'stupid creature'?" Baekhyun growled, his fists clenching.

"Uli eomma, Hal-abeojineun eodi gyesinayo!" (Where is my mom, Grandpa!) Jin Ae shouted, but the old man simply turned and walked away, his laughter trailing behind him.

Desperate to find a solution, Jin Ae led Baekhyun to a hidden elevator. "Welcome to my secret lab, Hyeongje (Brother)."

Inside, the room was filled with humming servers and glowing blue screens. Baekhyun looked around in awe. "You built all of this?"

"With a little help," she said, introducing her friends. While Catherine remained stoic, Jasmine nearly fainted.

"Baekhyun! Oh my God!" Jasmine squealed, thrusting a notebook full of his photos toward him. "You're so handsome in person! Please sign this!"

"She's obsessed," Catherine noted dryly. Jin Ae just sighed, rubbing her temples. "Focus, guys. We have a Sigbin to find."

At the Dark Fox's mansion, Kaito stood over a ritual circle. The air smelled of sulfur and wet earth.

"Wake up, Tikbalang! Follow my command!" Kaito roared.

From a whirlwind of thick, black smoke, a man emerged. He was strikingly handsome, but his presence felt wild and untamed. Daisuke stared, momentarily mesmerized by the man's beauty, until Calista snapped at him to focus.

"What can I do for you, my Lord?" the man asked, bowing low.

"Bring me the Sigbinan," Kaito commanded.

"With pleasure," the Tikbalang replied, his eyes flashing with a predatory light.

Across the city, Akihiko was losing his mind.

He stood in his bathroom, splashing cold water on his face, but the reflection looking back at him was changing. His hearing was deafening—he could hear a pin drop three floors down. His sense of smell was overwhelmed by the scent of the city.

"What is happening to me?" he whispered.

He looked in the mirror and screamed. Flickering behind him were tails—furry, ghostly appendages that vanished when he turned around. He looked closer at his reflection and saw his ears lengthening, turning pointed and fox-like.

"No!" he shrieked.

He grabbed his phone, desperately dialing Ethan, but it went straight to voicemail.

"Hey, E... it's Aki," he sobbed into the recording. "I need to see you. I'm sorry I missed our coffee. Something is... something is happening to me. Please call me back."

He looked back at the mirror. The fox features were becoming clearer. In a fit of terror and rage, Aki swung his fist, shattering the glass into a thousand jagged pieces.
