"And roses…" Lurgard scoffed suddenly, glaring at the bouquet on the desk like it had personally offended him. "Doesn't he know you're allergic to them?"
I blinked instantly, as surprise flickered across my face.
He knew?
I stared at him carefully for a moment.
I couldn't even remember telling him about my allergy before.
Yet he knew.
Before I could process the thought properly, Lurgard grabbed the bouquet roughly and walked toward the window.
Then without a second thought, he threw the flowers outside.
I gasped lightly.
The bouquet disappeared instantly from sight.
Honestly, I should probably have stopped him, because from just a glance one could tell that those flowers definitely cost a fortune.
But strangely enough, I didn't care...not one bit.
Then Lurgard turned back toward the desk again. His eyes landed on the diamond necklace still resting inside the golden box.
"And this…" he muttered before grabbing the necklace carelessly.
