The frustrated scream tore from my throat the very moment my eyes landed on the latest tabloids.
Without thinking, I flung the newspaper onto the table before snatching up another one.
Every headline seemed determined to mock me, as every article carried the same story.
Every picture only fueled the anger already burning inside me.
My jaw tightened.
That woman...she had fooled me.
All this time, I had genuinely believed she had lost her wolf's abilities.
I had believed she was powerless, weak and defenseless. That belief alone had given me confidence.
It had made me think I still possessed leverage over her. That no matter what happened, I could still manipulate the situation to my advantage.
But now...everything has changed.
She had used her powers openly before everyone, not only had she used them...she had displayed strength far greater than I had ever expected.
The realization made my blood boil.
