Chapter 25 - Chapter 2: Overwhelmed

The air trembled.

Cursed energy pressed down like a crushing weight, suffocating the battlefield.

Five sorcerers stood ready—

Yuji.

Takeru.

Nobara.

Megumi.

Maki.

And across from them—

Mahito smiled.

For a moment, no one moved.

Then—

Mahito sighed dramatically, placing a hand on his cheek.

"Hmm… you know…" he said lazily, tilting his head. "…I was going to play with you all myself…"

Yuji tensed. "Don't—"

"But…" Mahito interrupted, grin widening unnaturally.

"…I'm a little busy."

His hand lifted.

Fingers snapped.

"I'll let these guys take control."

The ground twisted.

The air warped.

And then—

They came.

From the shadows—

From the ground—

From the very air itself—

Transfigured humans.

Dozens.

No—

Hundreds.

Their bodies warped, stretched, broken into grotesque shapes, each one radiating cursed energy far beyond normal limits.

And behind them—

Something worse.

Curses.

Special-grade.

One.

Two.

Ten.

Dozens.

Then—

Hundreds.

The sky itself seemed to darken under their presence.

"…You've got to be kidding me," Nobara whispered.

Megumi's eyes widened. "…This isn't normal. This is—"

"Impossible," Maki finished, gripping her weapon tighter.

Takeru's Six Eyes flared to life beneath his sunglasses.

Every direction—

Every movement—

Every cursed energy signature—

Too many.

Far too many.

"…This isn't a fight," he said quietly.

"…It's a massacre."

Mahito laughed softly, already stepping back.

"Have fun."

And just like that—

He was gone.

Silence lasted for one second.

Then—

Everything attacked at once.

"MOVE!" Megumi shouted.

Shadows exploded outward as his shikigami surged forward, intercepting the first wave. Divine Dogs tore through transfigured humans, Nue crackled overhead—but for every one destroyed—

Three more took its place.

Maki charged head-on.

Her weapon cut through bodies, crushing skulls, breaking limbs—

—but even she was forced back under the sheer pressure.

"Tch—there's too many!"

Nobara drove nails into the ground, activating her technique—

Multiple enemies dropped—

But the swarm didn't slow.

Not even a little.

Yuji and Takeru stood back-to-back.

Breathing steady.

Focused.

"Left side's yours," Yuji said.

"Right's yours," Takeru replied.

They moved.

Yuji slammed forward, fists crashing through waves of transfigured humans, raw power tearing through them.

Takeru moved with precision—every strike calculated, every motion efficient, Six Eyes predicting everything—

But even then—

Even with perfect vision—

They were being pushed back.

A special-grade curse lunged—

Yuji blocked—

Another struck from behind—

Takeru intercepted—

A third slammed into both of them—

They skidded back across the ground.

"…This is bad," Yuji muttered.

"…Yeah," Takeru said quietly.

Sukuna's mouth appeared on Takeru's cheek.

For once—

He wasn't amused.

"…This isn't random."

Takeru's eyes narrowed.

"…I know."

Across the battlefield—

Megumi was being overwhelmed.

Nobara was forced onto the defensive.

Maki was surrounded.

Everywhere—

Too many enemies.

Too much pressure.

No space to breathe.

Takeru stepped forward slightly.

Yuji beside him.

Both of them staring ahead.

At the endless wave.

Cursed energy surged.

The ground trembled beneath their feet.

"…Yuji," Takeru said.

"…Yeah?"

A pause.

"…We're not getting out of this normally."

Yuji grinned.

Tired.

Determined.

"…Then we don't fight normally."

The swarm closed in.

From every direction.

No escape.

No opening.

No mercy.

Takeru lowered his head slightly.

His Six Eyes glowed brighter.

Sukuna whispered—low, dangerous—

"…Now this… is where things get interesting."

Yuji stepped forward.

Takeru stepped with him.

The two stood side by side.

Against hundreds.
