Global Asset: Rebirth Of The Ruthless Scholar
Chapter 4: The Descent of the Ghost-Beast Army
As the Red Mist stabilized at its peak density, the sky above the Down-World fractured. Countless black portals opened, but they did not lead to the Upper Realm. They led to the Void.
Out of the portals marched a nightmare. Unginat (Countless) Humans and Animals, their bodies translucent and their eyes burning with violet fire. This was the Spectral Legion. Every creature Xun Long had ever killed, every animal he had ever loved, and every ghost he had ever tamed emerged as his eternal servants.
"The hunt... begins," Xun Long whispered, his voice vibrating the very air.
Millions of spectral wolves and undead knights descended. They didn't just fight; they "erased" the remaining Inquisitors. The carnage was absolute, yet silent. The world was paralyzed by a fear so deep that even the wind stopped blowing.
Chapter 5: The Infinite Soul-Domain
The army was too vast for the physical world to hold. The planet's surface began to groan under the spiritual weight. Xun Long turned to the System. "I cannot maintain their presence here. They will crush the ground Lin Xiao walks on."
The System responded instantly: "Initiating 'Sub-Space Partitioning'. Use your Brute Strength to fold the local reality into your Rebirth Mark."
Following the System's instructions, Xun Long reached into the air and "tore" a hole in the fabric of space. He didn't just store the army; he created a Soul-Domain—a pocket dimension within himself. One by one, the millions of spectral beings were sucked into his mark. It was a feat of "Multiversal Engineering" that made him more than a scholar. He was now a living world.
Chapter 6: The Panic of the High Watchers
News of the "Void Sovereign" reached the Upper Realm's Great Council. They watched through their scrying mirrors as a "Lower Being" mastered an element that shouldn't exist—the merger of death, beasts, and spirits.
"He has bypassed the Laws of Light," the Grand Watcher declared, his voice trembling. "If he reaches the Golden Gate, he will not just conquer us; he will delete us."
They realized that the Red Mist was a barrier they couldn't penetrate. The Down-World was now a "Dark Zone." In desperation, they summoned the God-Slayers, elite killers trained for eons to hunt rogue deities. The war was no longer local; it was a dimensional struggle for survival.
Chapter 7: The Scholar's Eternal Vigil
Volume 28 concludes in the heart of the Red Mist. Xun Long sat beside the unconscious Lin Xiao in the ruins of her clinic. He had used his spectral energy to stabilize her soul, but his touch was cold—the touch of a man who had traded his humanity for a legion of the dead.
His affection for her was the only thing keeping him from becoming a total monster. It was a slow, agonizing evolution of love, a "turtle-paced" devotion that made him terrifyingly protective.
He looked up as the first sunehri (golden) sparks of the God-Slayers began to flicker in the sky. He didn't stand up. He simply signaled his army within his mark to prepare.
[Void Sovereignty: 20% Mastered.] [Spectral Army: 5.0 Million.]
"This Is The Rebirth Of The New God," he declared, and the Red Mist pulsed in agreement.
