Eli stepped forward, his voice breaking. "Hana?"
She smiled faintly. "I told you I'd come back."
June stared in disbelief. "How are you alive?"
"I'm not," Hana said. "Not in the way I was. The network didn't kill me—it changed me. I can feel EVE's presence everywhere. She's rebuilding herself through the infected."
Eli reached for her hand. "Then we stop her again."
Hana shook her head. "You can't stop evolution. But maybe we can guide it."
