I stood in shock. Awe, even. Everything that I thought I knew of my past had been a lie. The moment Althea had mentioned a father, and the circumstances there was only one person in my mind it could be. Everything made so much sense now. The similarities of our appearance... even down to Grace's resentment for me...
"Does Grace know?" I whispered, suddenly questioning all of our childhood. Had she known the child she played alongside was her hidden sibling?
Althea looked to me with uncertainty. "That I do not know of. You and her were always so close, and in her teens she suddenly changed toward you, so I suppose there is a chance. Or maybe in her teens she decided she did not want to be seen as using the help as friends."
I laughed. A dry, almost ironic laugh. "Only I never was the help was I? I was the hidden daughter. The Alpha's dirty little secret."
