I stared at Phoenix for a moment and then burst out laughing. He looked so serious and what he had said made no sense at all because Leo was standing right beside me. Was he not looking at the exact same room I was in?
"My brother is already here," I said, still laughing.
I glanced up at Leo and the laughter began to fade. His lips were pressed together in a tight line. I looked around the room and every single face was completely serious. The laughter died in my chest and my thoughts went muddled and uncertain.
"I am confused," I said.
Charlie chuckled and I glared at him until he held his hands up in surrender.
"Once Kate clears you to move around, we will take you to him," Phoenix said.
"Take me to who exactly?" I frowned.
"Your brother," Leo said.
I stared at him. "You are my brother. Is this some kind of joke at the sick person's expense?"
