Introduction
Hello, hello, my name is Zhara, last name Babiel… and… I already made this joke in another note, and it wasn't funny.
Anyway, this is a brief introduction to the fanfic.
"My Rom-Com Now Has a Demon King."
This is meant to clear up some questions and doubts you might have.
Is the character "Haruto" a self-insert?
No. He is the second idea of what it originally was. My original idea was to make a story where Hachiman had a best friend from another school. His name was Hasegawa Hajime, a kind former gang member with a past that follows him. But I decided to change it and make the story different, in a more comedic and theatrical way, so I turned him into another one of the OCs who appears as Haruto's errand boy.
Is he Yukino's or Yui's love interest?
No. Haruto doesn't have any feelings for either of them. And he never will. He sees them as pieces on a chessboard.
Then what is he?
To put it simply, he is an accident waiting to happen. He is only looking for entertainment. He doesn't care about order, discipline, or respect. He takes delight in seeing the faces of those who believe themselves superior and watching them fall into a pit of despair.
My story is based on a simple premise. The legend of an eccentric and completely deranged delinquent, a high school thug, takes an interest in our three protagonists: Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui. Because of this, our Solitary One will have to make time and try to return to what he had before Haruto arrived. He must figure out what Haruto is after and how to keep him away from the two girls he loves, even though he doesn't know that himself.
He will have to make friends and enemies of all kinds. He'll meet more gang members, play a game of cat and mouse with someone who seems indestructible.
The romance will center around the three of them: Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui. A true love triangle. Confused, excited, and selfish.
Yukino is insecure and doesn't know what she wants. Friendship or romance?
Yui is selfish. She wants both without losing either.
Hachiman doesn't want to ruin the relationship he has with them by choosing only one of them. So, yes.
At some point, this will become an everyday occurrence throughout the chapters. However, don't think I'll explore the "harem" route. That would be too easy. Where's the fun in that?
Now, this version is a rewrite. That doesn't mean I'm modifying the entire work. Only the plot, names, and locations have been changed. And this version could be considered the ORIGINAL, since I made another version: "TikTok Brain Edition." That other version will have shorter chapters compared to this one. The only thing that will change is that, if a chapter has 10,000 words, the other edition will therefore have two chapters. It will simply be divided. However, it might have some differences and include a few extra crossovers, since they will be published in the crossover section.
Now, about the crossovers: they're only there for decoration and to fill paragraphs. I like the synergy they provide and the idea of making it clear that my story takes place in a world where almost every anime and manga that exists coexists in the same place.
Well, that's all. Thanks for reading.
