Chapter 5 - The Guard 550

Scene 1

The night had fallen into a deep and uneasy silence. The battlefield where Kyro had just defeated Feliton felt strangely empty now. Broken stones and scattered dust covered the ground, while the cold wind howled through the ruins like a whisper of forgotten memories. Feliton, the mysterious wizard who once stood as a dangerous obstacle, had finally been defeated. Yet the victory did not bring Kyro peace.

Kyro slowly walked through the dark street, his footsteps echoing softly in the quiet night. His mind was full of questions.

"Mr. Unknown… where are you?" he murmured to himself.

Even after defeating Feliton, the shadow of Mr. Unknown still lingered everywhere. Kyro felt that the real battle had not even started yet.

The wind suddenly blew stronger, pushing loose papers across the road. Kyro looked around carefully. The city felt abandoned, as if the world itself was holding its breath.

Then, in the distance, headlights appeared.

A car was driving down the empty road.

Kyro narrowed his eyes as the vehicle came closer. When it finally passed near him, he recognized someone sitting inside.

"Carl!" Kyro shouted.

The car suddenly slowed down and stopped a few meters ahead. The door opened and Carl leaned out with a surprised expression.

"Oh! Kyro! Long time no see!" Carl said with a smile. "Get in, get in!"

Kyro quickly walked to the car and sat inside. As he entered, he noticed another person in the driver's seat — a young boy with focused eyes, gripping the steering wheel.

Kyro looked at Carl curiously.

"Hey… do you know him?" Kyro asked.

Carl chuckled lightly. "Of course. He's my little cousin. His name is Broka Lyson."

Broka briefly turned his head and nodded politely at Kyro before focusing back on the road.

"Nice to meet you," Broka said calmly.

The car began moving again, cutting through the quiet streets. The city lights flickered weakly as they drove deeper into a darker part of the district.

After several minutes of driving, the car finally stopped in front of a tall building surrounded by metal fences and glowing laboratory lights.

A sign above the entrance read:

DALKAS RESEARCH LABORATORY

Kyro stepped out of the car with Carl and Broka. The cold air carried the faint smell of chemicals from inside the building.

They entered the lab and walked through a long hallway filled with machines, monitors, and strange scientific equipment. At the end of the room stood a man wearing a white lab coat, carefully observing data on a large screen.

Carl spoke first.

"Doctor Dalkas."

The scientist turned around slowly. He was an older man with sharp eyes and a serious expression.

"Ah… Carl. And you must be Kyro," Dalkas said.

Kyro stepped forward slightly.

"Yes. I need answers."

Dalkas adjusted his glasses and looked at all three of them.

"I assume this is about Mr. Unknown."

The room suddenly felt heavier.

Kyro clenched his fist.

"Yes… we need to find him before he makes his next move."

The scientist stared at the glowing data screen behind him.

Then he spoke quietly.

"If that's the case… what I'm about to tell you may change everything you think you know about him."

The machines hummed softly as the discussion about Mr. Unknown finally began.

Scene 2

Inside the laboratory, the soft hum of machines filled the room as Kyro, Carl, and Broka stood around a large metal table. Bright blue screens flickered behind the scientist, showing strange symbols, maps, and data that Kyro could barely understand.

Dr. Dalkas slowly walked toward the table and placed a digital tablet in the center.

"I've been researching unusual energy signals for the past few months," Dalkas began in a serious tone. "And every signal leads back to one name… Mr. Unknown."

Kyro crossed his arms. "What exactly is he planning?"

Dalkas tapped the tablet, and a map of the region appeared on the screen. Several red points were marked across different locations.

"These signals are not natural," Dalkas explained. "They are connected to a strange energy that appeared after the Gate of Sickness incident years ago. Someone has been secretly activating small fragments of that energy."

Carl frowned. "You're saying Mr. Unknown is collecting those fragments?"

"Exactly," Dalkas replied. "If he gathers enough of them, he could reopen the Gate… and that could release something far worse than what happened before."

Kyro's eyes narrowed. The thought of the Gate reopening made his chest tighten.

"Where is he now?" Kyro asked firmly.

Dalkas zoomed in on one specific red mark on the map.

"This location," he said. "An abandoned industrial zone about twenty kilometers from here. My sensors detected a strong signal there just two hours ago."

Broka leaned closer to the screen. "So he might still be there."

"Possibly," Dalkas said. "But be careful. If Mr. Unknown is activating another fragment, the area could be extremely dangerous."

Kyro didn't hesitate.

"Danger or not, we have to stop him."

Carl nodded in agreement. "Then we move now."

A few minutes later, the three of them left the laboratory and quickly got back into the car. Broka started the engine, and the vehicle roared to life.

The headlights cut through the dark road as they sped through the silent city streets.

Kyro stared out the window, his thoughts heavy.

Somewhere ahead of them… Mr. Unknown was waiting.

Scene 3

The car sped through the dark highway until the bright lights of the city slowly disappeared behind them. After nearly thirty minutes of driving, Broka finally slowed the car down as they entered the abandoned industrial zone Dr. Dalkas had marked on the map.

Rusty factories stood like giant shadows under the moonlight. Broken windows rattled in the cold wind, and loose metal sheets clanged softly against old buildings. The entire place looked forgotten by time.

Broka parked the car near a collapsed warehouse.

"We're here," he said quietly.

Kyro stepped out first, scanning the area carefully. Carl followed him, while Broka locked the car and looked around cautiously.

The ground was covered with dust and broken pipes. Strange electric noises echoed faintly from somewhere deep inside the factory ruins.

"Stay alert," Kyro whispered. "He could be anywhere."

The three of them slowly walked between the tall metal structures, searching every corner for signs of movement.

Minutes passed.

Nothing.

Carl suddenly looked around nervously. "Are we sure this is the place?"

Before anyone could answer—

A shadow moved behind them.

Then suddenly—

WHOOSH!

A figure jumped down from a high metal beam and landed directly behind them.

The three instantly turned around.

Standing there calmly in the moonlight was a tall man wearing a dark hat, black sunglasses, and a cloth mask that covered his face.

Carl's eyes widened.

"Hey… here is Mr. Unknown!" he said seriously.

Mr. Unknown slowly tilted his head, almost as if amused.

"Hello guys," he said with a smooth, unsettling voice. "How are you tonight?"

The wind blew through the empty factory as he slowly pulled out a long, sharp knife that reflected the pale moonlight.

"Today," he continued calmly, "you can think that this is your last day."

Without warning, Mr. Unknown rushed forward with terrifying speed and swung the knife toward Kyro.

Kyro quickly jumped back while Carl tried to block the attack. Sparks flew as the blade scraped against a metal pipe nearby.

"Broka!" Carl shouted.

Broka immediately grabbed a small communication device from his pocket.

"Guard 442! Move in now!" he commanded.

Suddenly, from behind the broken factory gates, a powerful armored figure ran into the battlefield. Guard 442 — a tall combat unit equipped with reinforced armor and heavy weapons — charged directly toward Mr. Unknown.

The two clashed instantly.

Metal slammed against steel as Guard 442 tried to restrain the masked villain, but Mr. Unknown moved with unnatural agility, dodging strikes and counterattacking with frightening precision.

Meanwhile, Kyro, Carl, and Broka joined the fight, surrounding Mr. Unknown from different sides.

Kyro threw a metal rod at him while Carl tried to grab his arm. Broka aimed a shock device toward the enemy.

For several intense moments, the battle turned chaotic.

But then—

Kyro suddenly noticed something.

Near the center of the factory yard stood an old industrial crane system connected to several hanging steel containers.

Kyro's eyes sharpened.

An idea formed instantly.

Using every bit of focus in his mind, Kyro quickly ran toward the control panel beside the crane and pressed several switches at once.

The heavy chains suddenly moved.

CLANK!

Huge steel containers dropped down and slammed around Mr. Unknown, forming a powerful trap cage made of thick metal.

For a moment—

Mr. Unknown was completely trapped.

Carl shouted excitedly. "We got him!"

But suddenly Mr. Unknown started laughing.

A low… dangerous laugh.

"You really thought that would hold me?"

He reached into his coat and pulled out a small glowing device.

Kyro's eyes widened.

"Wait—!"

BOOOOM!!!

A massive explosion burst from the center of the factory.

Fire and shockwaves blasted through the entire area, tearing apart metal structures and throwing debris everywhere.

Kyro, Carl, Broka, and Guard 442 were forced to dive for cover as the entire industrial zone collapsed into flames.

When the smoke slowly cleared…

Mr. Unknown was gone.

Only burning wreckage remained where he had stood moments before.

Scene 5

The night was already turning into early morning when Kyro, Carl, and Broka finally returned to Dr. Dalkas's laboratory. Their clothes were covered with dust and smoke after the massive explosion at the industrial zone. The lab lights glowed brightly as they walked inside, clearly exhausted from the battle.

Dr. Dalkas immediately noticed their condition.

"What happened?" he asked seriously.

Kyro leaned against the table and took a deep breath. "We found him… Mr. Unknown was there."

Carl continued the story. "He attacked us immediately. We tried to surround him with Guard 442 and Kyro even trapped him using the crane system."

Broka lowered his head slightly. "But he escaped… he used some kind of explosive device and destroyed the entire area."

The scientist remained silent for a moment while processing the information. He slowly walked toward one of the large computer screens, thinking deeply.

"So even Guard 442 couldn't stop him…" Dalkas muttered.

Broka clenched his fists. "Guard 442 is powerful, but Mr. Unknown moves too fast. His attacks are unpredictable."

The scientist turned around and looked directly at Broka.

"Then the solution is simple," Dalkas said calmly. "You need another guard."

Kyro looked up. "Another one?"

"Yes," Dalkas replied. "If two powerful guards fight him at the same time, his movements will be restricted. One guard can defend while the other attacks. With the right strategy… Mr. Unknown can possibly be defeated."

Carl nodded slowly. "That might actually work."

Broka's eyes sharpened with determination. "Then I'll build one."

Without wasting another minute, Broka left the laboratory and drove directly to his personal workshop, a large mechanical workplace filled with tools, machines, and half-finished devices. Sparks flew as welding machines lit up the dark room.

For hours he worked without stopping.

Metal plates were forged, circuits were installed, and powerful armor pieces were assembled carefully. Broka focused on every detail, making sure the new guardian would be stronger and more durable than the previous one.

Finally, after a long night of work, the final piece of armor locked into place.

Standing in the center of the workshop was a new guardian.

This one looked far different from Guard 442.

The new unit stood tall like a medieval knight, covered in thick silver armor plates with a strong helmet and reinforced shoulder guards. Its design was more defensive, built to withstand powerful attacks.

Broka stepped back and activated the system.

The machine's eyes slowly lit up with a bright blue glow.

Broka smiled slightly.

"Welcome to the battlefield," he said.

"This is Guard 550."
