Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 – Silent Victory

The arena was full.

Not just with students—but with expectation.

This was no longer a simple match. It was the final of Arcanis Academy's largest tournament in history. Even the sky seemed to recognize it. Gray clouds hung low, heavy, unmoving, as if the world itself was holding its breath.

At the highest row, Selvan watched in silence.

Dorum stood beside him.

"…Those eyes."

Selvan didn't look away.

"Yes. The echo of destruction."

Dorum's voice lowered.

"That's not something a child should carry."

Selvan's expression didn't change.

"Fate doesn't care who it chooses."

The crowd erupted.

"Kashikari! Kashikari! Kashikari!"

He stepped into the arena.

No reaction.

No acknowledgment.

His uniform was untouched, his expression empty.

Across from him stood Varen Rys.

A defensive specialist.

A barrier user.

One of the strongest in the academy when it came to protection.

Varen lowered his stance and activated his magic.

A blue dome formed instantly, surrounding him completely.

"If you think you can break this—try."

Kashikari didn't answer.

His fingers moved slightly.

Jinwi's voice echoed.

"Attacking is meaningless, isn't it?"

A brief pause.

Sometimes… destruction protects silence.

Kashikari stepped forward.

A faint ripple spread across the ground.

Varen's barrier intensified.

But the stone beneath them—

Cracked.

"This… isn't possible!"

Kashikari's gray aura rose, quiet but overwhelming.

"Bodyguard Aura… full protocol."

For a moment—

Nothing moved.

Then Varen attacked.

Energy surged forward, striking directly—

And stopped.

The aura didn't just block it.

It returned it.

Varen's barrier reacted violently, the energy folding back into itself—

Then exploding outward.

The crowd stood up instantly.

Shock.

Disbelief.

Dorum spoke under his breath.

"He's not spreading fear anymore…"

A pause.

"He's spreading order."

Selvan lowered his gaze slightly.

"The order of destruction… that's the most dangerous balance."

Varen dropped to one knee.

His barrier shattered completely.

Fragments of light fading into nothing.

Kashikari looked at him.

"…Is that all?"

Varen's breath trembled.

"…You're not human."

A quiet pause.

Kashikari answered calmly.

"You're right."

A gray wave formed in his hand—

Expanding.

Filling the arena.

Everything slowed.

Everything held.

Then—

It stopped.

Kashikari's gaze shifted.

Upward.

Nyari stood in the crowd.

Her eyes wide.

Not afraid.

Not exactly.

But close.

Jinwi's voice surged.

"Finish it."

"Win."

Kashikari didn't move.

Winning… isn't destruction.

Slowly—

He lowered his hand.

The aura faded.

The pressure disappeared.

Varen collapsed.

Unconscious.

Alive.

The silence lasted only a second.

"KASHIKARI LIOR—VICTOR!"

The arena exploded.

Cheers filled the sky.

His name echoed everywhere.

"Kashikari! Kashikari! Kashikari!"

But inside—

There was nothing.

No noise.

No pull.

Jinwi didn't speak.

For the first time—

Silence felt… calm.

The ceremony was held that night.

The grand hall was filled with light, voices, movement.

Kashikari stood at the center.

Chosen.

Declared.

Selvan's voice carried through the room.

"Today, we did not just choose a winner."

A pause.

"We chose a symbol."

His gaze moved across the hall.

"Arcanis will rise again."

The applause followed.

But Kashikari wasn't listening.

His eyes searched the crowd.

And found her.

Nyari.

She was smiling.

But it wasn't simple.

There was pride in it.

And something else.

Something quieter.

Later, the arena stood empty.

Cracked.

Marked.

Unfinished.

Dorum walked slowly across the field.

Selvan followed.

"…Do you feel it?"

Selvan didn't answer immediately.

"…Yes."

Dorum's expression hardened.

"The sphere… is waking."

A short silence.

"Which one?"

Dorum looked up.

"The other."

Selvan stopped.

For the first time—

His expression shifted.

"It's been silent for a century."

"…Maybe it's time."

The sky above them shifted.

Gray clouds moved unnaturally.

And for a brief moment—

A faint green light passed through them.

Like something had split the sky itself.

That night, Kashikari sat alone in his room.

The medal rested quietly on the table.

Unimportant.

Jinwi spoke again.

"The balance is breaking."

Kashikari didn't move.

"I know."

"The other one is awakening."

A pause.

"Let it."

Silence.

"It creates."

"And you destroy."

Kashikari closed his eyes.

"Creation without destruction… has no meaning."

The room grew still.

"Balance…"

A breath.

"…begins now."
