Victoria stormed out of the office, her cheeks wet with tears, her pride shattered. Every pair of eyes followed her as she exited—the whispers and stares echoing behind her. She ran straight to Alexander's father, her voice trembling.
"Mr. Reyes… I… I don't know what to do. Alexander humiliated me!"
Alexander's father gave her a firm, reassuring smile. "Victoria, don't worry. Alex isn't a problem. He must marry you. That's not going to change."
The next day, chaos shifted to Alexander's home. His father confronted him, fury blazing. Words escalated into shouts. A swing of his father's hand came at Alexander—but Alexander, calm and precise, caught it mid-air. The room was tense, echoing with anger and frustration.
Isabella, hearing the noise from her phone, felt a wave of guilt crash over her. This—all of this—was happening because of her. That day after work "Isabella am taking you home today no excuses''.Alexander said.
"Am so sorry babe but am not going home today Nora is taking me to a treat in a spa'' . She lied
"fine call me when you get home okay'' Isabella nodded the hurriedly left without a kiss and no goodbye.
Alexander waited for her call but he never got one so he called her but she never responded, he called repeatedly, texting relentlessly, but she ignored him, making excuses to avoid the calls.
At home, Nora and Cara waited, concern etched on their faces. Nora's eyes met Isabella's, understanding everything without words.
"Girl… you don't need to be sad or feel guilty," Cara urged. "Alex loves you, and you love him. Don't let anyone else interfere. Hold him close. Claim him—he's yours!"
Isabella smiled weakly, pretending to accept their encouragement, though her heart was still heavy.
At the office the next day, Isabella avoided Alexander completely. He noticed instantly. Guilt and heartbreak swept through him. She doesn't want me anymore, he thought, a pit forming in his chest.
Unable to stay away, Alexander went to her office. He opened the door—and froze. Isabella was leaning over another male worker, speaking, laughing even. Rage surged. His pulse thundered.
Before he could act, he fired the worker, leaving him standing frozen. Isabella tried to explain, but Alexander turned, leaving her behind, storming back to his office. She followed, her heart pounding.
She tried to explain but Alexander refused to listen,he thought he could shut her up, so he gave her a thousand files and said arrange this
"I am not arranging these!" she yelled, slamming a stack of files on his desk.
He looked at her—anger still there, but restrained.
Calm, elegant, Isabella stepped closer to him, each step measured, each glance softening the fire in his eyes. It was almost… intoxicating.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, settling onto his lap.
"Is it because of him you didn't answer my calls?" he demanded.
She hummed, unsure. "It wasn't the reason. I… I just felt guilty about everything, and I thought maybe I should give you space to deal with your family. I didn't mean to avoid you. I'm so sorry, Alex."
"Don't care about my family. And don't ever leave me," he confessed, his voice raw. "I was scared… I don't want you to leave me. Promise me that ,you will never leave me."
"I promise, baby. I'll never leave you. I love you," Isabella said, her voice firm, eyes locked on his.
"I love you too'' Alexander said .
The tension broke in a rush of heat. Their lips met in a fierce, intense kiss, one that ignited everything between them. Hands roamed, hearts raced, and before long, their passion escalated, leading to an intimate embrace. It was the second time they gave in to the fire that neither could resist.
