Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Young Might Duy

Stepping inside the warehouse, his eyes were met with mountains of coarse grains.

Although the quality of these grains was average, they were superior in quantity and affordable in price.

"I'll take all these dozens of bags of coarse grain, and those radishes and cabbages over there... Uncle Koji, please mark them down for me."

Like a general commanding a battle, Ryoko shuttled between the mountains of ingredients, his fingers rapidly pointing out the food he needed.

He picked seven or eight kinds of ingredients in one breath before finally stopping.

Looking at the other more exquisite ingredients in the warehouse, it wasn't that he didn't want to buy them, but the price exceeded his budget, and he really couldn't bear the cost.

"As expected of Ryoko, our Akimichi Clan's once-in-a-century big eater. You will definitely become a great Ninja in the future."

The accounting pen in Akimichi Koji's hand danced rapidly as he couldn't help but praise him.

In his heart, the more a child in the clan could eat, the greater their future potential.

Perhaps in the future, Ryoko would possess Kage-level strength, becoming as outstanding as the legendary Hyuga Ichizoku of the Hyuga Clan.

Hearing this, Ryoko smiled inwardly: This was just the beginning. His appetite was even more startling than what outsiders saw.

If he let himself go, he could sweep this entire warehouse of food clean.

However, thinking about the various troubles brought by his amazing appetite, he couldn't help but sigh.

If he hadn't been born in the resource-rich Land of Fire and lived in the prosperous Konoha Village, he probably would have starved to death elsewhere.

His appetite was truly no ordinary feat.

After paying and arranging a delivery location with Uncle Koji, Ryoko turned and left the warehouse.

Before he had gone far, a striking green figure caught his eye.

It was a man with thick eyebrows and a bowl cut, wearing a tight green tracksuit. He was exceptionally conspicuous on the street, looking quite bizarre.

But the other person didn't care about the gazes of others at all, carrying goods with a smile, seemingly performing a low-level Ninja mission.

"Green spandex... Could it be Might Guy's father, Might Duy?" Ryoko pondered to himself, unable to resist taking a few more looks.

It was no wonder Ryoko was checking repeatedly; the Might Duy before him was far too young. His chin was smooth without a beard, looking vastly different from the weathered appearance in his memory.

However, the contours of that face already bore a seventy to eighty percent resemblance to the future 'Blue Beast,' Might Guy.

"Little brother, do you know me?"

Might Duy noticed the gaze and turned around, seeing a stocky little fatty staring at him intently.

There was a certain heat in that gaze that left him somewhat confused.

Ryoko snapped back to his senses and said frankly, "I don't, but we can get to know each other now."

"Hello, my name is Akimichi Ryoko, a member of the Akimichi Clan."

Hearing that the other party was from the famous Akimichi Clan, Might Duy immediately straightened his back, struck what he considered his most spirited pose, and introduced himself seriously: "Hello, I am Might Duy, and I have just become a Konoha Genin!"

When mentioning his status as a Genin, his eyes sparkled with pride and joy.

On the path to becoming a Ninja, he had experienced too much hardship and tempering, but it was all worth it.

He had finally fulfilled his wish of wearing the konoha headband.

Even if he was just an ordinary Taijutsu Ninja, it was a glorious profession far beyond that of ordinary people.

"Do you carry goods here every day?" Ryoko asked.

Might Duy scratched his head sheepishly: "I'm just a rookie Genin right now. I can only take on odd jobs like helping people find cats and dogs or carrying goods."

As he spoke, he clenched his fist, and a burning radiance glowed on his face.

"But I believe I'll soon be promoted to Chunin, take on higher-level missions, and earn more money!"

"Hard work never betrays anyone; this is youth!"

His hopeful expression was like a burning flame, completely out of place with the busy and mundane atmosphere around him.

At this point, Akimichi Ryoko was completely certain that the person before him was the father of the future Emperor Kai, Might Duy.

After all, only Might Duy could wear green spandex regardless of others' gazes and sing praises to youth.

As for Might Guy, looking at Might Duy's youthful appearance, Ryoko doubted he was even born yet.

Furthermore, the other party was still in the early stages of growth and hadn't yet made a name for himself; it wasn't even certain if he had started practicing the Eight Gates technique.

"I believe what you say," Ryoko said sincerely. "You will definitely become a very great Ninja."

Hearing this encouragement, Might Duy's emotions surged, and his art style suddenly shifted as he grabbed Ryoko's hand with teary eyes.

"Someone actually agrees with me! I'm so moved! I definitely won't let you down—this is a promise of youth!"

His shouting and hollering unknowingly drew the attention of many people, some of whom even started pointing and whispering.

Even with Ryoko's thick-skinned personality, he found it a bit hard to handle in broad daylight.

He awkwardly pulled his hand back from Might Duy's grip and said helplessly, "No need to be so excited. You have to believe in yourself; you can definitely do it."

He spoke with such conviction that Might Duy began to dance with joy, becoming even more excited.

After all, no one had ever agreed with him like this; almost everyone treated him with cold mockery and ridicule.

Ryoko's appearance was like a sudden beam of light in the darkness, as pure and flawless as moonlight.

Seeing Might Duy's increasingly exaggerated actions and the curious gazes gathering around them, Ryoko suddenly felt a wave of embarrassment.

It was the first time he had been this embarrassed. He quickly said, "Uh... I just remembered I have something to do, so I have to go first. I won't bother you with your mission!"

Before his voice could fade, he had already turned and scurried away.

That stocky figure now displayed a flexibility that didn't match its size. In Might Duy's eyes, this agile movement was proof of successful Taijutsu training.

"So this little brother is indeed a Taijutsu expert!" Might Duy watched Ryoko's receding back, his eyes shimmering with moved light. "He specifically came to encourage me; I will definitely not let this friendship down. This is a man's promise."

As he spoke, he seemed to be injected with new strength, turning back to carry the goods even more vigorously, every muscle bursting with the vitality of youth.

Meanwhile, Ryoko, who had escaped the scene, didn't slow down until he turned a street corner, raising his hand to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead.

This was the first time he had been forced into a frantic retreat by someone.

At the same time, he realized that he was just an ordinary person after all.

"As expected of someone who can master the Eight Gates in the future. Setting aside physical potential, his psychological resilience alone is top-tier," he muttered to himself.

Originally, he had planned to get closer to Might Duy and find an opportunity to inquire about the training method for the Eight Gates.

Now it seemed that this plan needed long-term consideration; he had to be fully mentally prepared first.

After all, although he had a cheerful personality, he hadn't yet reached the realm of being able to ignore the eyes of the world.

Might Duy's overly fervent style of youth and exaggerated behavior were truly a bit much for him to handle.

He felt that contact with Might Duy could be slowed down a bit; there was no rush.

After all, he was still young, and there would always be an opportunity.
