I wanted to speak, but no words came out, so I looked at Soheon.
She didn't say anything.
So I stayed silent too.
Inside, a man was making out with a woman.
I hoped—really hoped—he wasn't Soheon's boyfriend.
But she had said no one lived here except him.
And judging by her reaction…
It really was him.
The moment the glass shattered, everything changed.
He froze for a second—then quickly stood up, pushing the woman away
"Soheon… what are you doing here?" he asked, his voice uneasy. "I thought you said you wouldn't make it."
I turned to look at Soheon, waiting for her reaction.
Waiting for anything.
But she said nothing.
And somehow… that silence hurt more than any words.
My fists clenched. I swear, at that moment, I really wanted to beat the hell out of that bastard.
"Oh…" Soheon finally spoke, her voice calm. "I'm sorry I interrupted you guys. Please, continue."
She glanced at the broken glass and smiled faintly. "I'm sorry I made a mess. I'll clean it up."
Before anyone could stop her, she walked inside, grabbed a broom, and carefully cleaned every piece like none of this affected her.
Like her heart wasn't just shattered along with that glass.
When she was done, she looked up at him and smiled.
"Okay. I'll be going now."
She turned toward the door, that same smile still on her lips.
"Soheon—"
He reached for her.
But I stepped in front of him.
"Don't you dare touch her," I said, my voice low, my eyes cold.
He instantly stepped back, startled. "Who the hell are you?"
I let out a quiet scoff. "That's none of your business."
Suddenly, I felt a soft hand slip into mine.
I looked down.
It was Soheon.
She smiled at me—gently,
"Let's go," she said quietly. "He isn't worth it."
Siwoo's gaze dropped to our intertwined hands.
I glanced at him one last time, then sighed and followed her out… leaving that idiot standing there, frozen in his own mess.
We kept walking in silence.
Then Soheon spoke.
"I'm sorry… I shouldn't have let you see that. You're still young, and as the elder, I'm supposed to protect you," she said with a smile.
That smile… it hurt to look at.
My chest tightened. "Are you okay?"i asked
She let out a soft sigh. "I'll be fine."
I knew she wasn't.
"Let's take a taxi," I said. "My head hurts."
For the first time, she didn't argue.
She didn't make a sarcastic remark either.
She just nodded.
She called a cab, and we got in.
The ride home was quiet—very quiet.
When we arrived, she dropped her purse on the couch.
"I need to rest," she said. "There's still some food if you're hungry. I'm going to my room."
And just like that, she left.
I stood there, staring at the direction of her room.
She really is strong…
Anyone else would've been crying their heart out by now.
In the end, I decided to give her space.
I didn't have the appetite to eat.
My head was pounding, so I lay down on the couch, waiting for the pain to fade. It wasn't the first time—a mild headache like this usually went away on its own.
About two minutes later, Soheon's phone started ringing.
I sat up and stared at her purse.
It's probably that idiot, I thought.
I almost ignored it.
But then I hesitated.
With a sigh, I reached into her purse, pulled out the phone, and checked the caller ID.
Yuna.
I answered.
"Soheon, you finally picked up
"It's not Soheon. It's me," I said.
The line went silent.
Then a small voice spoke. "Minho?"
"Yeah, it's me."
"Um… where is Soheon? I want to speak to her, if you don't mind," Yuna said, her tone suddenly calm like she wasn't the one screaming on the phone seconds ago.
I glanced toward Soheon's door.
"Her boyfriend cheated on her. She's in her room… resting."
Silence.
"What?!"
Yuna's voice came back, loud and shaking. "Minho, go—please go check on Soheon. She might do something stupid!"
My grip on the phone tightened as I turned toward her door.
"What do you mean?"
"Please, Minho, just go!" she pleaded. "I'll explain when I get there."
