Chapter 6 - chapter six:my reward money

"Ahh, Uncle... it's not what you think!"

Wait-who am I even screaming to? He was already gone.

I looked up at Minho. He was just standing there, staring at me.

"It's all your fault," I muttered, pushing the door open and walking inside.

"I think he heard me," I added under my breath.

"You're the one who said I shouldn't say a word," Minho replied calmly.

I turned and glared at him. "Say another word and I'll send you back to the streets."

Without waiting for his response, I stormed off toward my room.

What am I supposed to do now?

She left me and went to her room.

I stayed where I was, wondering what to do next.

A moment later, Soheon came out of her room holding what looked like a first-aid kit. At some point she had changed her clothes.

She walked over and sat beside me.

"Are you angry at me?" I asked.

"How can I get angry at you?" she replied with a small smile.

I knew there was more behind her words.

Then she continued, "If I get angry at you and your people hear about it... and you report it to them..."

She paused.

"They might think I made the famous Minho angry and reduce my reward money."

Yeah, I knew that was coming.

I couldn't really get annoyed, could I?

So I just smiled.

"What's with the first-aid kit?" I asked.

She looked at me seriously. "I was going out and needed a new purse."

I sighed.

She burst out laughing. "Silly. I need to bandage you up. You're literally going to bleed to death and you wouldn't even know."

That's when I touched my forehead.

When I pulled my hand away, I saw blood on it.

"See? You're bleeding. Let me bandage you up," she said.

But I just kept looking at her.

She started laughing again.

She was beautiful when she laughed. Her eyes curved slightly, and for a moment she looked completely different. Her beauty was in sharp contrast to her usual behavior.

"I know what I'm doing," Soheon said suddenly. "From the way you're looking at me, I can tell you don't trust me."

"If I didn't trust you, I wouldn't have followed you back here-even if I had nowhere else to go," I replied.

"You're talking rubbish," she said. "I think you're losing blood. That's why you're saying things like this. Don't worry, I'm a licensed nurse."

Who made her a nurse? With the way she talks, her words alone could probably scare the patient to death.

But outwardly, I just smiled and let her remove the bandage, clean the wound, and dress it again.

"Done," she said, standing up proudly. "Now you look good enough to sell."

"Oh my God... my reward money," she continued excitedly. "What should I buy with it? A new house? Or a car? There are so many things-I can't decide."

She looked at me.

"What do you think I should buy?"

I frowned. "Don't you think it's weird that they're offering money to whoever finds me? What if someone tries to kidnap me? Maybe they're the ones who caused my accident. Do you think-"

She cut me off and stared at me.

"Does this look like a K-drama to you?" she asked.

"But you said I'm a celebrity," I replied. "Of course there could be people who want me dead."

I paused.

"Honestly... I don't want to go."

"If you don't go, I don't get rich," she said immediately. "Do you want me to stay poor forever?"

She crossed her arms and added, "Of course there are people who want you dead-for example, me. But see? I didn't kill you. I just want the reward money."

Then she suddenly stopped talking.

"Wait... wait. If you don't go back, where will you stay?" she asked.

Really... where would I stay?

I thought about it for a moment.

Enough. It was already decided.

"I get the money and you get your fame back. Deal?" she said.

"Deal," she replied herself.

"Good."

She stretched and looked around. "Where's my phone?"

She walked toward her room to get it.

A second later-

"AHHH!"

Her scream echoed from inside the room.
