Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Participating in the Chunin Exams

Before learning the Flying Thunder God, Uchiha Sora had always assumed that the teleportation distance of the Flying Thunder God was infinite.

However, after learning it, he realized that the Flying Thunder God's teleportation was not without its limitations.

There were prerequisites to activating the Flying Thunder God.

As the user, one must be able to sense the location of their own Formula Mark; only by sensing it could one teleport there.

After sensing the Formula Mark, one must then activate the Ninjutsu. This process relies on one's own Chakra control. Only if the Chakra control is strong enough can one instantly trigger this power to traverse space and complete the spatial leap.

Besides this, the speed of the teleportation is also related to one's own reaction speed.

With multiple factors combined, this resulted in the high threshold for learning the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Among the successive Hokage, only the Second Hokage, who created this Ninjutsu, and his successor, the Fourth Hokage, were able to learn it.

Through automatic cultivation, Uchiha Sora had barely managed to learn the first stage.

But his Chakra was not yet powerful enough, and his ability to sense the Formula Mark could not compare to the Second or Fourth Hokage, so his use of the first stage of the Flying Thunder God was still far inferior to those two Hokage in terms of distance.

With his current strength, under the enhancement of the Three-Tomoe Sharingan, he could only sense Formula Mark coordinates within a range of about two hundred kilometers.

This range was actually quite large; at the very least, the radius of the entire Konoha Village was only thirty or forty kilometers.

The range within which Uchiha Sora could teleport actually far exceeded Konoha Village.

Under normal circumstances, it was completely sufficient.

Furthermore, it was not advisable to have too many Flying Thunder God Formula Mark coordinates...

Although the user can leave coordinates on other objects at any time, having too many fixed coordinates would interfere with the user's ability to sense the coordinates' locations.

If one's strength is insufficient, there is even a risk of sensing errors or errors in the teleportation location.

With Uchiha Sora's current strength, creating five flying thunder god kunai, plus his own short sword, made for a total of six Formula Mark coordinates, which was just right—neither too many nor too few.

After creating the Formula Mark coordinates, Uchiha Sora hung the first Kunai with the Formula Mark in his room.

Then, he went to locations one hundred kilometers east and west of Konoha Village, found uninhabited areas, placed the second and third Kunai in boxes, and buried them in the open wilderness.

In this way, he had three locations to which he could teleport, and the distance between any two of these three locations was at least one hundred kilometers.

As for the remaining two special Kunai, he carried them with him along with his short sword.

This was for convenience during combat.

Of course, he would absolutely not use them until the very last moment.

After finishing all this, Uchiha Sora could not help but let out a long sigh of relief, as if a heavy stone had been lifted from his heart; only then did he feel he truly had a trump card for survival.

...

Time quickly arrived at the day of the Chunin Exams.

"Itachi, this time, just like you, I am participating in the Chunin Exams alone, without teammates. However, I believe we will definitely make it to the finals. See you then." At the entrance to the first written exam hall, Uchiha Sora said to Itachi with a smile.

"Mm, see you in the finals." Itachi nodded slightly.

Both of them radiated strong confidence, making the surrounding Genin who were also participating in the Chunin Exams feel a powerful aura.

"Brother, good luck!" Uchiha Sasuke, who was only four years old, followed beside his mother, Mikoto, and cheered for Uchiha Itachi at the entrance of the exam hall.

Uchiha Itachi looked back at Sasuke, and a rare, gentle smile appeared on his face.

Seeing this scene, Uchiha Sora could not help but look at Uchiha Izumi, who was cheering him on from behind, and smiled slightly.

The two entered the exam hall.

The first written exam passed quickly; Uchiha Sora and Itachi both successfully answered the questions and advanced.

The location for the second exam was the Forest of Death, and it was a competition for capture.

Almost identical to the original work, the goal was to compete for the Heaven and Earth scrolls. Successfully collecting both the Heaven and Earth scrolls and reaching the tower in the center of the Forest of Death meant passing.

Uchiha Sora and Itachi, who were the youngest and had no teammates, separated to act individually after entering the forest.

This suicidal behavior was immediately targeted by other teams.

However, reality dealt them a harsh, unexpected blow.

The strength of those team members was, at best, barely at the level of a Chunin.

Let alone the current Uchiha Sora, even the version of him from two years ago could have dealt with them without any effort.

He didn't even need to use Ninjutsu; he simply drew his short sword, and after a few sword techniques, these guys who dared to covet the scrolls on him were all kneeling on the ground, begging for mercy.

After collecting the scrolls, Uchiha Sora headed straight for the tower.

All the teams that tried to ambush him along the way were easily taken down by him.

The entire process only took a little over an hour.

When he arrived at the tower, the proctors waiting at the tower were stunned.

"This guy arrived first! To think he's this fast!"

"And he has no teammates; he came here all by himself! Uchiha Sora? It seems he is only ten years old this year!" A proctor pulled up Uchiha Sora's file and said in shock.

Uchiha Sora ignored the discussions and gazes of the proctors, found a spot for himself, sat down, and began to rest.

This time, he was here to successfully advance to Chunin, and his goal was not just to be a Chunin, but to join the Anbu.

To temper one's will, becoming an Anbu member is the best path.

Therefore, since Uchiha Sora had already planned to show off, he naturally had to perform in an eye-catching way to prepare for his future selection into the Anbu.

About another hour later, another figure arrived at the tower.

"It's Uchiha Itachi!" The proctor recognized the figure at a glance and said.

Uchiha Itachi, the son of the clan leader, started school at six, graduated at seven, awakened his eyes at eight, and now, at only ten years old, was participating in the Chunin Exams.

Anyone with even a little bit of knowledge would know about this dazzling record.

However, in this exam, Uchiha Itachi was overshadowed by someone else.

A proctor glanced in the direction of Uchiha Sora and deliberately said to Itachi: "Uchiha Itachi, congratulations on reaching the tower so quickly. However, your result is only second place; there is someone else who arrived earlier than you!"

Uchiha Itachi had seen Sora long ago. He paid no mind to the proctor's words and replied indifferently: "Uchiha Sora arriving earlier than me is not surprising at all."

As he spoke, he leaped over to sit beside Uchiha Sora and said: "Sora, you really are faster than me!"

Uchiha Sora, who was resting with his eyes closed, smiled and said: "To hear such words from you is truly surprising."

Uchiha Itachi shook his head and sighed softly: "Everyone says I am a genius, but I know that you, who have already awakened the Three-Tomoe Sharingan, are the true genius."
