Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Gathering of the Three Clans

Night settled over Tokyo, but the Hunter Intelligence Agency headquarters remained awake—silent, watchful, and heavy with tension.

Outside the main gate, headlights cut through the darkness.

A luxurious black car rolled to a smooth stop.

The door opened.

A woman stepped out gracefully.

Her long hair swayed gently, her posture refined, every movement precise and disciplined. In her hand, she held a small folded fan, which she tapped lightly against her palm.

Tokugawa Yasu.

Semi-Special Grade.

Her calm eyes scanned the building before her.

"…so it has begun."

Behind her, more engines echoed.

Another convoy arrived—larger, louder.

Doors slammed open.

From the center car stepped a woman with sharp eyes and an imposing presence. Her aura alone felt heavy, almost aggressive.

Shirosagi Rui.

Semi-Special Grade.

She rolled her shoulder slightly, as if already bored.

"…what a drag."

Without exchanging many words, both women walked toward the entrance.

The guards stepped aside immediately.

They knew who these people were.

Deep inside the headquarters—

A large chamber stood isolated from the rest of the building.

A meeting hall reserved only for the Big Three Clans.

The doors opened.

Yasu and Rui entered.

Inside—

Fujiwara Akane was already waiting.

Elegant.

Composed.

But her eyes held a quiet storm.

"…you're late," Akane said calmly.

Rui scoffed. "We came. That's enough."

Yasu closed her fan with a soft snap.

"…let us not waste time."

They took their seats.

The atmosphere shifted instantly.

Heavy.

Sharp.

Unforgiving.

Rui leaned back, crossing her arms.

"…so."

Her gaze locked onto Akane.

"If Mizorogi is really alive…"

A pause.

"…what does that have to do with our clan?"

Her tone turned colder.

"We're not interested in chasing ghosts."

She leaned forward slightly.

"What we want…"

Her eyes narrowed.

"…is information about the Special Level Demon causing chaos in Hokkaido."

Silence followed.

Yasu tapped her fan lightly against her chin.

"…Rui."

Her voice was calm, but firm.

"Do not escalate this discussion unnecessarily."

She glanced at Akane.

"…I understand he killed your sister."

A brief pause.

"…but as the leader of HIA, and as a commander…"

Her gaze sharpened slightly.

"…you must prioritize greater threats."

The air grew tense.

Yasu continued.

"…we are facing more than one problem."

Her tone lowered.

"…the current generation of Hunters…"

A pause.

"…is weakening."

Rui clicked her tongue.

"…don't remind me."

Yasu nodded slightly.

"Very few can even approach Semi-Special Grade."

Her fan closed again.

"…the decline is critical."

Akane remained silent.

Listening.

Absorbing everything.

Then—

She exhaled slowly.

"…this discussion is going nowhere if we divide our focus."

Her voice was calm, but carried authority.

"Mizorogi is not just a personal matter."

Her eyes darkened.

"…he is something we do not understand yet."

She leaned forward slightly.

"And the Special Level Demon in Hokkaido…"

A pause.

"…may be connected."

Rui's expression shifted slightly.

"…you're saying this isn't coincidence?"

Akane didn't answer directly.

"…I'm saying we cannot afford to treat them separately."

The tension in the room thickened.

Outside the building—

A young man sat casually on a bench, one leg crossed over the other.

Completely relaxed.

As if none of this concerned him.

Tokugawa Asakura.

Nineteen years old.

Special Grade.

Beside him stood his assistant.

Elegant.

Composed.

Sharp-eyed.

Nagisa Sakurai.

Nineteen year old

Semi-Special Grade.

"…they've been inside for a while," Sakura said quietly.

Asakura yawned slightly.

"…politics."

He shrugged.

"…boring."

Not far from them—

Another figure leaned against a pillar.

Smiling.

Eyes full of energy.

Shirosagi Lui.

Twenty-one.

Special Grade.

He glanced toward the meeting hall.

"…wow."

He chuckled.

"…the pressure in there is insane."

Beside him stood a girl.

Calm.

Quiet.

A gentle smile on her face.

Shirosagi Shino.

Eighteen.

Special Grade.

"…don't worry, Onii-chan," she said softly.

"Our mother can handle it."

Lui laughed lightly.

"…of course she can."

But his eyes—

Were still watching the hall.

Interested.

Versa was also in the hall looking at Lui and Asakura.

And finally, five special grades are in one place at the same time. and their is The pillar Five. The Strongest human in the Hunter Intelligence Agency

But

Far away—

Beyond the lights of the city—

Beyond the awareness of ordinary humans—

In the darkness of another place—

A figure stood.

Monstrous.

Distorted.

A Demon.

Its eyes gleamed with amusement.

"…Mizorogi…"

It smiled slowly.

"…you are truly fascinating."

A pause.

"…a human…"

"…who became something else."

The darkness around it shifted.

Alive.

Watching.

"…let's see…"

Its grin widened.

"…how far you can go."

Back in Tokyo—

Storms were gathering.

Not in the sky—

But in the shadows of those who stood at the top.

And those who had fallen beyond them.
