Chapter 9 - The Angel’s Voice

Two months had passed.

The new school year was about to begin, and Akira had now entered Year 3 of Junior High School.

During those two months of summer vacation, he had done nothing but chase women and mercilessly torment people. Not a single report had been filed against him.

He moved freely, without consequence.

Thanks to his power, the law itself bowed beneath him. No one else knew the things he had done.

Akira continued attending school. It was the perfect hunting ground — a place where he could easily find new toys to play with.

For the first two weeks of his third year, he simply observed.

He watched the students around him, quietly searching for the perfect victim.

"Form groups of three," the teacher announced. There was an upcoming presentation.

Akira's group gathered in a small circle to discuss their plans.

He remained silent the entire time, listening with complete indifference.

Schoolwork meant nothing to him.

As his group chatted, a voice suddenly caught his attention.

It was a girl's voice.

And it was different.

Her voice sounded like that of an angel who had descended to earth — pure, melodic, and breathtaking.

For the first time in a long while, Akira felt genuine interest stir inside him.

She would be his first target of the new school year.

Her name was Lyra Kawamura.

The Angel's Voice

After class, Lyra walked with her two close friends, Sofy and Luna.

The three girls laughed and talked animatedly as they headed toward the school gate.

Akira planned to approach them casually — befriend them first, learn their desires, and slowly lure them into his trap.

But the moment he tried to step forward, something stopped him.

For the very first time, an unknown force held him back.

A strange wave of embarrassment washed over him as he thought of getting closer to Lyra.

Akira had no idea what was happening.

Frustration boiled inside him.

He stayed at a distance near the gate, watching the three friends from afar, unable to take even a single step closer.

"What the hell does this mean?" he muttered under his breath.

A cold shiver ran through his body.

He trembled with a feeling he could not understand.

In the end, he gave up and went home.

The moment he reached his room, Akira collapsed onto his bed, still shaken by the unfamiliar sensation.

Yet the irritation burned even stronger because he couldn't comprehend what he had felt.

"What is this feeling?!" he growled, his eyes flashing with demonic fury. "I am a demon — the highest-ranked among all demons — and I felt fear?"

"Is this… really fear?" Akira asked himself in confusion, his eyes narrowing in annoyance and rage.

Then, slowly, a smile crept across his face.

A new kind of interest sparked within him.

This was the first time he had ever experienced such an emotion.

"Lyra Kawamura…" he whispered, standing up in the middle of his dark room. His eyes began to glow a deep, menacing red.

"I don't know what you did to me… but you are nothing but a lowly human. You and your friends… will all become my toys."
