Family is a blessing from God for almost everyone. There are a few unfortunate people who are deprived from having a family. For those who have a family, are very fortunate.
When there is a supporting family or a few supportive members in a family, life becomes blissful and easy. I am from a middle class family and was brought up in a joint family where we were 6 cousins staying together.
Later it became a nuclear family because uncles left and grandparents passed away.
I have a brother and he has been very supportive at those times when I needed him the most.
Also I would like to highlight that where there is a family having grandparents and all those kids who get their love are truly fortunate. Grandparents might seem to be a little irritating at times because of their childish behaviour but it is because now they are weak and they need support at every given point of time. The good times, the fun, the laughter and joy that I experienced with my grandparents were such beautiful moments. Those moments will always be memorable. It is important to have elders at home because they guide us, the show us the right path, they make us strong with their love.
I was taught from my childhood to take care of my grandparents. I used to take them to the hospital, get medicines for them, my grandparents would love having outside food. It was fun when my grandmother fed me with her own hands. I miss them so much. I feel that there is no one who can replace them. It takes some amount of effort to keep up with grandparents but they are the cutest people in the entire family.
It is from their teachings that I am able to handle my family really well.
There was a point of time when I lost my work. I was all by myself now. My family stood beside me. My mom said that she would also start working.
She started a catering business at her own convenience from home. In the beginning she had only 3 or 4 customers. Later other people came to know that she cooks at home, they started ordering the food.
All the members of the family started helping her in her catering business. My dad helped in bringing ingredients from the market. I would help her in packing and delivering the food. It was a small business where she cooked all by herself in the home kitchen. She did not hire anyone else.
There were a few customers who ordered such dishes which she had never cooked. She never refused any customer, she would learn it and cook it for them. It was possible for her to start with this business only after grandparents passed away. She started this business after getting inspiration from her sister in law.
My mother was a great support for my father because she took good care of her in-laws. She took good care of her husband as well. My father also was operated once when I was in school. She helped him recover really fast.
When my grandparent's health was deteriorating, she never had a limit. Her service for them was limitless. Be it in the mid of the night or during the day, she treated them just like she would treat her own parents. She stood very strong beside me whenever I failed. Infact even when I was in school, I never went to tuitions until my 10th standard. My mother took all the efforts sand taught me everything, she made me finish my homework on time. She woke me up early everyday to study and then go to school. Early in the morning she would give me some milk alone with biscuits and a few dry fruits.
Mother's love is the best love ever. I realised this only after I became a mother myself. There is no replacement for family. No matter what support and always be with your family. Never listen to anyone speaking ill about your family. There is nothing in this world in comparison to family support.
