Chapter: 60: longing for?
Elena
It's been a few days since my make out session with Damien, I had tried avoiding him but that only made him want to get closer, and one way or the other we ended up being around each other. Whether it was in his office or mine, there was always a reason to be in the same space. Meetings, reports, last-minute approval, anything that required our interaction seemed to stretch longer than necessary.
But that wasn't all, I had found myself after work being driven home by him. I was now expecting to see his car waiting for me at the end of the day. The car rides were nothing close to a silent ride. We had talked so much, probably longer than we ever did throughout our marriage. He never asked if I needed a ride, he simply assumed I would take it. And what was worse? I let him.
He felt different now.
There was no denying the shift between us.
I sighed, lost in thought as I turned the corner in the office hallway, barely paying attention to where I was going.
And then—bam.
I collided with a solid chest, stumbling back slightly. I felt the Strong hands that steadied me, and I fluttered my lashes up to see none other than Ethan, my co-worker, grinning down at me. He was a tall blonde haired man.
"Whoa, Elena! You okay?" he asked, probably worried that I had gotten hurt.
Ethan and I became close after he helped stand in for me on days I didn't come to work. He was easy to talk to and was never judgmental of me despite the rumors going around about me and Damien.
I huffed, brushing back a loose strand of my hair. "Yeah, yeah. Sorry, I didn't see you coming."
"Lost in thought I presume?" He said arching an eyebrow.
"Was it that obvious? What are you even doing here?" I tried to change the topic.
His grin widened. "I work here, remember?" He jested.
"You know what I mean," my eyeballs darting to the side.
"Oh, I was going to tell you, guess who just got promoted?"
I blinked in surprise. "Seriously?"
"Yup." His chest puffed up a little.
"This calls for a celebration," I added happy for him.
"You're right about that, want to grab a bite later?" his eyes pleaded.
"My treat," he added.
I hesitated, but his expression was so hopeful. Ethan had been working hard, and I knew this promotion meant a lot to him. Plus I was most likely the only person he was close with at work.
"Alright," I said finally. "Let's go after work."
His face lit up. "Awesome. What do you think about Savor & Sage?"
I was a new fancy restaurant just fifteen minutes away from the company. " I'm fine with anywhere you choose,"
"Alright, Savor & Sage it is."
I smiled at the thought of how excited he was but then the thought crossed my mind, 'There were no vacant spots for promotion—SOoo.'
"Elena," Ethan's voice disrupted my thoughts and then I realized I must have had a weird look on my face.
"Yeah," I answered as he gave me a questioning look.
" I was just wondering what role in the company you got promoted to?"
"Have you been under a rock these days at the office?" His tone laced with amusement.
" I took over Connor's position," he mentioned coolly.
It took a while for his words to really sink in. "What?"
"And what about Connor?"
Ethan smirked. "He got demoted. Apparently, the higher-ups weren't happy about him threatening other employees and spreading lies. They said he was 'disrupting workflow.'"
'Was this Damien's doing?'
I shook my head, still digesting the news. "Well, that's…interesting."
Ethan chuckled. "Anyway, don't forget. Dinner." He added before leaving.
I nodded, still lost in thought as I continued down the hall.
I got back to my office immersing myself in paperwork as the time flew by. It was now time for my lunch break. I got up picking my wallet about to head to the office Lunch room when I raised my gaze to see Damien in my office.
"Damien, you almost scared me. what are you doing here?" I asked wondering why he suddenly appeared.
"Well I came to have a taste of—-" his eyes trailing every inch of my body as he came closer.
"Damien it's broad daylight and still working hours," I said expecting him to understand the gravity of his actions.
"Erm, I'm the Boss," he said with a face of who would dare question me.
"That's exactly the problem, you're my boss,"
"Well technically your husband," he responded grinning but I immediately gave him a questioning look.
"Even though you don't remember me," he added his words now slow with hints of sadness.
He was now so close to me that we shared the same breath. Thinking he would kiss me, he brought out a file placing it right between us, cutting the moment.
"This is the list of the people that will be attending the ball, their important information is all there and I want you to memorize them."
I thought he was already planning to go with Sophia so why was he now asking me to do this?
"Is that all?"
"Are you hoping for something else, Elena?" He questioned in a suggestive tone while lifting my chin with his hand and using his thumb to trace my lip.
"Nn—," I mumbled.
IN—his finger went into my throat. As he brought it out it was dripping and fully coated with saliva. My face flushed and I could feel the heat of my body rising.
" You want this as much as I do, so stop fighting your feelings," the heat of his words landed on my ears.
I let out a moan as his hands found their way underneath my blouse grabbing my breast.
"Da—mien, ahh, this—we could get caught," my words struggled to come out in between moans.
My arms were wrapped around his neck while he pulled me close sucking my nipples. I could feel every single action his tongue made.
Spinning me around he had me bent over my desk, my body hot and dripping over its surface.
He leaned over my back my breast now cupped in his hands as his tongue found its way to my ear.
'Gush what was this man doing to me? I couldn't bring myself to resist any of his actions.'
He was hard, and I could feel his dick through the skirt I had on. He was in the process of zipping the fly of my skirt down when we heard a knock on my door and the door knob being twisted open.
