I saw a general leading his army against monsters. The army was outnumbered, but he still continued leading them bravely. A demonic aura started spreading across the battlefield.
A huge monster, looking like a rancorous demon, emerged from the demon army. He was one of the seven demon generals. The other generals stood behind him, as if mocking the humans, as if saying one general was enough to defeat them.
And they were right.
The demon general jumped into the battlefield and started devouring soldiers' energy. The human general was busy fighting other demons while despair slowly spread through the army.
Soldiers were dying.
I teleported in front of the demon. He was still absorbing energy from a soldier. I cut off his arm, and both the arm and the soldier fell to the ground.
"Run," I told the soldier, and he quickly moved back.
The demon general regenerated his arm and attacked me with his fist. I blocked his attack with my arms and slashed his chest. His core appeared for a moment, but he healed instantly.
He started laughing and slowly walked toward me while the other generals mocked him, saying a child was damaging him.
I moved like a beam of light and instantly appeared behind him.
I used Shadow Step, the skill I obtained after clearing Floor 21.
"Human, you are flashy, but what happened? You missed your target," he mocked.
In the next second, a cracking sound echoed.
His body split into two and fell to the ground.
The army started cheering, and their morale increased. The human general approached me and thanked me. I summoned elixir bottles for their healing.
"Drink this. It will heal you. I am not your enemy," I said calmly.
They drank the elixirs, and after some time, they were fully healed. The battle started again.
I heard a flying bird laughing with a dolphin-like monster. They were both demon generals and attacked me together. I used Shadow Spikes on the dolphin monster and Dark Shadow Slash on the phoenix. Both were injured.
Seeing this, the other four demon generals appeared. One of them was in human form and commanded all of them to attack together.
At first, I was damaging them, but soon they adapted to my techniques and started damaging me.
I realized I had no other option.
I opened my domain.
Darkness spread across the battlefield. My domain had evolved. Shadows emerged from the ground and grabbed all the generals. Spikes pierced their bodies, chains sealed them, and dark bullets rained from the sky.
I used my daggers and killed two generals. One weak general was eliminated by spikes and dark bullets. The phoenix tried to fly away.
A message appeared:

The phoenix gathered flames in her mouth to attack, but before she could fire, thunder of black, white, and red lightning struck her from the sky.
In the next second, I received a notification of her death.
My mana was depleted, and my domain disappeared. Only two demon generals remained. Everyone was shocked.
One of them was severely injured.
"You have potential, human. You killed five generals and still stand," the demon in human form said. "I am Baal, and I am impressed."
He started walking toward me.
I tried to stand, but my body was weakening. I had leveled up, and my skills were refreshed, but my body felt unstable.
A notification appeared:
Bloodline Awakening: 32%
I took an energy potion. My body started recovering, but I still needed time.
"Sir, we will buy you some time," the human general said.
"I am Xeyo," he said and charged toward Baal.
He raised his sword and shouted, "Light of Judgment! Holy Slash!"
Divine light filled the battlefield as he cut Baal's head off. The army started cheering.
But I knew something was wrong.
In the next second, Baal's head regenerated.
He drew his blade and prepared to stab Xeyo, but I used Shadow Piercing. Baal jumped and dodged. I was almost healed.
I moved toward him, and he dashed forward. Our blades clashed, and I was thrown back.
He laughed.
"After killing you, I will kill all the children inside the city and use their blood for demonic rituals."
Hearing this, I lost my temper.
Despite my condition, I opened my domain again. Shadows covered everything. Shadows tried to grab him, but he broke free and jumped toward me.
I raised my dagger and used Shadow Slash, then Shadow Step, appearing behind him. I used Shadow Control. He dodged Shadow Slash, but Shadow Control injured him.
He took out a skeleton of a human child and devoured its energy to heal himself.
Seeing this, I completely lost control.
I used Curse Shadow Hand for the first time, along with Shadow Lightning and every skill I had.
Huge shadow hands emerged from the ground and grabbed him. Brutal spikes pierced his body. Shadow Control created a shadow that held my sword. Dark shadow bullets rained on him.
The domain started fading. He was badly injured and tried to escape. The last demon general was killed by humans.
Baal moved toward the bodies of the four dead generals, trying to absorb them.
I had little energy left.
I shouted and used both skills together.
"Curse Shadow Hand! Shadow Lightning!"
A massive shadow hand appeared in the sky, covered in lightning, and crushed Baal instantly.
"I will remember you... and I will return..." he shouted.
I fainted on the spot.
When I opened my eyes, I was lying in a room. A lady with divine light was healing me.
I asked about the army and the general.
The door opened, and a man entered.
"So, you are finally awake."
"Yes," I replied. He was the general.
"I am Xeyo. I was leading the army. We are thankful to you. You saved not only our lives but our entire kingdom."
I introduced myself.
He told me the king wanted to meet me.
We walked toward the castle. He showed me markets and buildings along the way. It was midnight when we reached the castle.
A fat middle-aged man sat on the throne. Xeyo introduced me to him.
I introduced myself but did not kneel.
"I do not kneel to anyone," I said clearly.
The king became angry, but when he heard that I killed Baal, his attitude changed. He started praising me, but I still felt something was wrong about him.
He offered me a place to stay, and I accepted. I also requested permission for Xeyo to stay, and he allowed it.
At midnight, Xeyo and I were discussing things. I checked my stats—they had increased significantly. My level was now 53.
My shadow skills had evolved. Now all shadows around me were connected to me.
Suddenly, I sensed the king moving toward the basement.
I activated my Shadow Body skill, which I obtained after killing Baal, and covered Xeyo with it. We became like shadows.
When we entered the basement, we saw a strange and ugly creature emerging from a blood-filled tub.
I recognized it instantly.
There was no doubt.
It was him.
