Meanwhile, inside the Imperial Grand Arena, the mood was very tense. It felt like a bomb about to explode.
In the stands where the members of Foresight sat, they were very worried.
"C-Captain..." Roberdyck swallowed hard. His voice was dry. "I-I say, isn't Miss Ilya... taking things a bit too far? She even..." He made a "kicking them aside" gesture. His face showed that she had caused a lot of trouble. "She even threw the people from the Magic Academy aside..."
Hekkeran frowned. He knew how serious this was. Insulting the arena staff and the Magic Academy in public was a big deal. It was now a direct challenge to the Empire's power. He had hoped to befriend a strong person by being her guide. He never expected her to act so... casually (or rather, arrogantly).
"It's too late to talk now," Hekkeran said with a bitter smile. His eyes stayed on the silver-white figure in the arena. "We can only trust Miss Ilya now. She... maybe she doesn't care about these 'troubles' at all." He remembered the life-saving crystal she gave them and her limitless strength. His confidence grew.
Linetta crossed her arms. She looked at the nobles and the whispering managers. She also saw the angry looks from the Eight Fingers members. She whispered, "Trouble is coming for sure. But we have already sided with her. It's too late to back out. We have to take it one step at a time. Let's hope her power is enough to protect us too."
Arche Eeb Rile Furt nodded slightly. There was worry in her purple eyes, but she trusted Ilya's power. She held the warm black crystal and the old book tightly. She felt their weight and whispered, "Miss Ilya... she is not from our world. What we see as 'big trouble' might just be 'a bit noisy' to her." She looked at Ivy, who was holding her and Linetta's arms.
Ivy was excited and a little nervous. She looked up at Ilya with stars in her eyes. "Wow! Big sister is so amazing! Even those master mages couldn't stop her! So cool! Arche-nee, Linetta-nee, don't you think so?"
Linetta ruffled Ivy's hair with a small smile. "Yes, very amazing." Arche also gently stroked Ivy's head. She whispered, "Yes, she is. So Ivy must believe in Big Sister too."
Just then, a loud horn sounded. It was louder than the roar of the crowd.
On one side of the arena, a heavy gate opened. A group of people came out, led by the merchant Osk. He had a businessman's smile, but his eyes were sharp. Behind him, two figures stepped out. The crowd let out a huge roar of cheers!
On the left was a giant over two meters tall. He wore heavy, dark-green armor with spikes and magic symbols. He looked like a walking metal fort. The ground shook with every step. His face was hidden by his helmet, but two red lights glowed inside. He carried a huge warhammer. It was half the size of a man and had a scary dark-red glow. This was Go Gin, the 8th generation Martial Lord!
The figure on the right was very different. They were tall and thin, wearing silver-grey leather armor. Their long, blonde hair flowed freely. They had long ears that moved slightly. Their face was very beautiful but strange. Their ruby-red eyes looked bored but curious, and they had a small smile. A silver sword hung at their waist. This was the genius of the Headhunter Rabbit race. They were famous for being fast and skilled.
"It's the Martial Lord! The 8th generation Martial Lord, Lord Go Gin!"
"And the Headhunter Rabbit! Heavens, they are coming out together!"
"Is the Martial Lord going to personally teach that girl a lesson?!"
"Lord Martial Lord! Show that arrogant brat the true strength of the Empire!"
"Is the Headhunter Rabbit going to fight too? Now this is a show!"
