Chapter 17 - Annual National Medical Assembly

"Hey, guide. Please assure me that the ritual will be the cure."

[Rest assured, host. Although the immortal alchemist concocted a pill for the cure, he also suggested this ritual for non-alchemist in case they encountered a similar case.]

Felix simmered down somewhat. He was still in complete shock over the fact he would be rich through this method—it was two birds with one stone, knowing not only he could cure and wake up her younger sister, he would also be able to save his family from poverty.

Just thinking about it excites him, making him impatient as he stares at Doctor Eleanor with sparkling eyes.

Doctor Eleanor was aware of what he was thinking and beamed a smile. She was clearly aware of Felix's circumstances. His parents could barely keep up with the medical expenditure. Although she already proposed to the mayor that those patients in the Coma and Unknown Illness Wing should be exempted from medical fees, the law was still in the first reading.

The government was already paying a lot for the hospitals just to lessen the burden of the patient from their medical fees, and the taxes that the government paid every year was only enough to sustain the city and the population's satisfaction.

Furthermore, the Coma and Unknown Illness' wing's medical fees were quite a lot, and the Research and Beast Medical Labs were already demanding a massive amount of money for their research.

Doctor Eleanor sighed. At the very least, once the ritual he proposed is proven to be a cure for the Sleeping Hollow Disease, our research department will benefit a lot. Of course, including him, too.

Doctor Eleanor already had an idea in mind to write a thesis about the ritual that Felix gave and pass it to the National Beast Medicine Council. If it would be approved, then she would be given a chance to present the thesis at the Annual National Medical Assembly this year.

It usually occurred a week before the entrance examination of every college, giving ample time for students or beast tamers from various places to visit and witness the grand event.

For those who could not afford the travelling fee, they could watch the event live on television or social media.

Doctor Eleanor had less than two months left, but since Felix had already proposed a cure and the duration would only last a week, she had more than enough time.

She thought. However, I have to study deeply the terms I'm not familiar with. I seemed to have stumbled upon the word "meridian" from ancient medicine before the great apocalypse…

As Doctor Eleanor fell into deep thought, Felix was aware that he had to take a leave now. Afraid to disturb her, he slowly turned around and opened the door as quietly as he could.

A minute later, Doctor Eleanor only then noticed that Felix had already vanished, leaving her no time to ask him about his contacts.

Doctor Eleanor's office was currently located at the 10th floor, the highest floor, where it only has a single room. The rest was her personal labs, which other doctors could use as long as they had her permission.

When Felix left and wandered throughout the floor, he did not let his curiosity make him stay longer, afraid of gaining Krisha's wrath.

He left her out of the blue and she was certainly displeased.

He currently stood in front of the elevator and pressed the button. When the elevator reached him and opened, there were three doctors who were stunned when they saw him.

A doctor in the middle, as young as Doctor Eleanor, frowned and growled at him, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

Felix stepped back and paved a way for doctors to leave from the elevator. He bowed slightly and said, "I'm Felix Hill. I had a private discussion with Doctor Eleanor for a bit. Excuse me, I'll be leaving now."

Without waiting for their response, he entered the floor, not entertaining the idea of wasting more time chatting with them.

However, once one foot was on the floor, the doctor in the middle, grabbed his arm and stopped him.

He said, "You're too impolite."

Felix frowned. He thought. He's strong. I have to be patient.

Felix turned his head around and forced a smile. "I'm sorry, I was in a hurry. I've also greeted you by bowing, so I don't see any impoliteness that I have shown."

"You're talking back. That's more than impoliteness, it's disrespect."

"Let it go, Kian. There's no need to be suspicious of him. In which aspect Doctor Eleanor would be attracted to him?

She's already yours. Stop getting jealous." An older doctor, seemingly at the middle-age, intervened.

Kian calmed down somewhat and finally let go of Felix.

However, after Felix stood in the elevator and faced them, he said, "If I see you on this floor again without my permission, I'll beat you."

The elevator door closed and the last thing they saw was Felix's indifferent reaction.

Kian was infuriated. He grumbled. "I remember you."

"Now, now. Let's go visit Doctor Eleanor and ask her about it. That will give you an assurance, Kian."

Felix, on the other hand, rolled his eyes the moment the elevator door was closed. He deeply disliked arrogant people. He had never expected to encounter one again—a doctor at that.

He seems to be at the same age as Doctor Eleanor, and from the other doctor's words, he's an admirer? In the first place, I'm not interested in someone older than me.

His phone rang, interrupting his thoughts. He grabbed it from his pocket and answered it.

"Hello, this is Beastore. We have already prepared the materials you bought and since this is your first purchase, the delivery will be free. Are you sure to deliver it straight to the Embercrown Arsenal under your name or should we deliver it for you first to check the quality?"

Felix was already aware of the free delivery. As for the caller's question, he had also already decided.

He said, "Deliver it straight to them, please. Please update me if you have also delivered it."

"Understand. We'll deliver it in half an hour."

Felix smiled brightly and nodded. However, his smile soon faded the moment the elevator door was opened…
