Akira's POV
Sena found me in the canteen at half past noon, which was the window between the morning mission rush and the afternoon debrief crowd when the place was quiet enough to have a conversation without performing it for an audience.
She put her tray down across from mine without asking and sat and looked at me with the expression she had been wearing since the transit stop yesterday… it was not hostile nor warm but something more precise than either.
"I didn't file it," she said.
"I know."
"How do you know?"
"Because you're here instead of in a review board meeting."
She accepted this with a small nod. "I want to understand something before I decide what to do with what I saw."
"You said you weren't going to say anything."
"I said I wasn't going to say anything to the board," she said. "I didn't say I wasn't going to say anything to you. Those are different things." She folded her hands on the table.
