I opened my eyes cursing myself for actually falling asleep. On the bright side, I felt mostly healed to the point that I could move my hand and leg again with only a slight pinch.
"Awake?" The smell of vanilla blanketed me.
Soothing.
"Lucas" I asked groggily.
"I'm here and I've already aired the room out. Whatever dog was in here won't get back in," Lucas said. "I was able to feed you some blood and speed up your healing."
"Where are my parents?" I asked, ignoring him.
"They had some appointment to take care of in the next town over. You knew that, right?" Lucas said.
I hesitated, but this was as good a chance as any to get something off my chest.
"Something is going to go wrong," I said.
Lucas's face scrunched up. "Oh? You don't trust them to do business?"
"The werewolves threatened to get my parents," I muttered. "Since they can't get to me, they'll go after the people around me like they did with the crane."
"I knew the scent was familiar," Lucas growled.
