"That's enough." Isolde said, burying her face so deep into Cassius's lap that it looked as though she wanted to become one with him.
To be with the man who had chosen her in every single situation.
The man who had watched the family he loved so deeply turn to blood and ashes rather than harm a single hair of hers, despite having every reason to do so.
She was honestly speechless. Words were far too few and too insufficient to express what her heart was going through in that moment. So when words failed her — lost in the turbulent haze of her emotions — Isolde Amaris's body simply took over, weeping and sobbing in order to express what could not be expressed otherwise.
Cassius watched his wife with a quiet, fond smile. The room was filled with the sounds of hiccups and soft sobs, yet it was not a sound of sorrow.
It was one of joy.
