Chapter 11 - The One Worse Than The Devil

Chapter 11

There is a huge explosion, and soldiers are sent flying into the sky. At the rear stood the enemy Generals- two Archdemons,

The Prince charged towards the one on the left, cutting down any enemy that got in his way. Behind him was General Zoya. General Kane headed right to face off against the other Archdemon. Nemisis stayed with the other soldiers, preventing enemy progress.

The Prince and Zoya arrived before the Archdemon. He looked at them, his face full of disgust.

"Pathetic fools," he said, his voice heavy and thick. "You dare stop us from preparing the way for the arrival of the defiler."

He grunts."I, Baal Azazel, the lord of war. Bow before me, and you shall be forgiven."

Zoya scoffs. "As if we did listen to things like you."

"Lend me your help, Zoya," the Prince said. "We end this today."

Azazel gave a little chuckle.

The Prince dismounted from his horse, and a sword appeared in his right hand. Zoya followed with the sword ready.

They dashed towards the Arcdemon.

The Archdemon weaved through their attacks effortlessly. He got hold of Zoya and threw her towards the town. The Prince watched in horror.

"You monster... " he growled as he dashed forward. "I will kill you."

Before his attack could land, he was slammed into the ground hard enough to crack it. The Prince lay down brething heavily and drenched in his own blood. He tries getting up.

Baal Azazel looked over to his counterpart.

"I always saw humans as pathetic, never knew a valerian like your kind could be weak, even with all your useless power. It seems your lady friend won't be coming, and your other partner is nothing but a play toy for Lilith."

The Prince coughed up blood, and he struggled to get on his feet.

"Ah, yes, the pathetic drive, emotions, the only thing your kind and the human race have in common."

He kicked the Prince and stomped on his chest.

"I shall kill you when my partner does, who knows you might get to see the face of Patrick Moros."

The Prince's eyes widened after hearing that.

On the other hand, Kane is badly beaten. Blood bathed his body from head to toe.

"Are you done already?" She said. "How are you even a General if you are this weak?"

She raised her hand, which also raised Kane into the air.

"How about I break every bone in you before taking you limb by limb, and don't worry."

She smiled.

" I will make sure you live long enough to see your head pop."

She cackled.

Nemisis raised his head and watched her direction.

Kane?

He laid Zoya on the ground gently. He looked at the healers.

"I need four of you to follow me, the rest of you help anyone who's injured and make sure she doesn't die."

The ground cracked beneath Nemisis as he rushed toward Lilith.

"Ne... misis." Zoya muttered under her breath.

Lilith slammed Kane into the ground. Her emerald eyes sparkled.

"Is this what your Kingdom has to offer?" she cackled harder. "Where is Zuest? Is he not seeing his people suffer... don't tell me he hasn't found a champion yet. Such a path-"

Nemisis punched her away.

Nemisis turned to Kane. "Are you ok?"

The healers arrived later and attended to Kane.

"Go... th... help the Prince," Kane forced out.

"We will send him back and return," a healer suggested.

"OK, be careful," Nemisis said.

The healers carried Kane and went away. Nemisis turns, before him was Lilith bleeding from her mouth.

"A HUMAN," she spat out blood. "Your kind never seems to know their limit."

Before Nemisis could move, she appeared before him and touched him.

Suddenly,

The place went dark, and Lilith found herself staring into an endless void. Nine big red bloody eyes appeared before her. She couldn't move, she couldn't speak or blink. Blood came out of her eyes, nose, ears, and mouth.

A pressure followed, tearing at her skin. She stood still, not a single movement.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" a voice said in rage. "Do you want us all to die?"

Two normally sized eyes appeared.

"You can't even escape his gaze."

The eyes lunged at her, and a force pushed her away. She finds herself at the battleground before her was Nemisis.

Tears ran down her face as she realized her body was completely unharmed. She looked at Nemsis.

"Why... why... TELL ME WHY ARE YOU HERE?" More tears run down her cheeks.

Nemisis frowned.

She crawled close to him, using him as a support to help her stand up.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Nemisis asked.

He was about to shrug her off when she suddenly hugged him tightly.

"Please (inaudible) don't send me away, I have always admired you. Please spare me."

Nemisis stared at her, visibly confused, "Hey, what did you- "

"Lilith," Baal Azazel called, cutting Nemisis off. "Why do you cling to this thing?"

Lilith turned and took an offensive pose.

"Watch your mouth, you arrogant fool, or else I will take your head."

Azazel dropped the Prince.

"The master has arrived."

"I serve no master of yours."

"Your treachery has rewarded you with death by my hands," he said, looking at Nemisis. "Shall we begin somewhere else, Lilith?"

"I promise you I shall return with your head to my master."

"I take that as a yes."

Baal Azazel snapped his hands; he and Lilith disappeared instantly.

Nemisis rushed towards the badly beaten Prince. Two healers arrived.

"Take him back, hurry."

They carried the Prince away.

"Now that's out of the way," a voice said. "Why don't I kill the one my servant has defected to?"

A man appeared, his eyes were actual gold.

"Before we begin, I want to ask... are you the leader, the one behind all this?"

There was no immediate response; they stared at each other, and the air blew gently between them.

"I, Patrick Moros, the ruler over the Archdemons, am the leader. Why does that matter to you?"

"Nothing, I wanted to know if going all out was the right choice, and you just answered that."

Nemisis dashed towards Patrick.

A pillar of gold suddenly rose, almost hitting him. He jumped back and looked at Patrick, who grinned at him. Nemisis rushed in again, but more pillars of gold erupted from the ground. He swung his sword and shattered them apart.

Nemisis stopped to catch his breath.

Here we go.

Red spirit energy gathered around him, and he raised his sword. One of the soldiers saw it and immediately ordered the others to retreat to the town. The enemy followed as they did.

Once the soldiers closed ranks, they formed a wall formation to prevent the oncoming enemy. Before the enemy soldiers could get close, they stopped dead in their tracks, and their heads fell.

The soldiers were shaken; above them was Nemisis in his Skullcrusher form. His swords hovered around him.

"Be with the people, make sure nothing gets through... I will deal with the enemy."

He suddenly disappeared, creating a vibration in the air.

The soldiers watched on. In the distance was Nemisis and Patrick facing each other; there was not a single being on the battlefield.

Patrick watched around, "Well, it seems we have all this place to ourselves."

He paused, frowning, "That form... is just a transformation, or it is what I think it is."

Nemisis remained silent.

A grin spread across Patrick's face, "Well, that answers my question, hope you can fight like him."

He dashed at Nemisis, the air trembling behind him. He grabbed a golden sword and swung it.

The clash of their swords created a series of shockwaves, causing the ground to crack. The residents of the town, along with the soldiers, are shaken by the impact.
