Five days had passed.
Mark was bored listening to the teacher lecture the class. He sat with his elbow resting on the table, his face propped up on his palm.
'Why do I have to go through this bullshit again?'
Mark sighed as the class continued as usual. When the school bell finally rang, Mark sighed in relief, school was finally over, and tomorrow was the weekend. But before he could leave and head out to train, his teacher, David Hiles, called him.
"Mark, can you stay after class? I need to speak with you."
"Tsk." Mark sighed, annoyed.
William patted him on the shoulder, giving him a smile and a thumbs-up. Mark could only shake his head. He stood near the teacher's desk while the other students filed out of the classroom.
Hiles closed the door and took a seat at his desk. "Is there a reason why you're always sighing in my class?"
"Are you really asking that?" Mark was surprised by the question and answered truthfully. "I'm bored, and I have more important things to do."
Hiles stared at Mark's face for a few seconds before saying, "You can go."
"What a waste of my time," Mark said as he walked away.
The moment Mark turned around, Hiles pulled out a cylinder-shaped device and tried to stab him. But Mark heard it from miles away with his enhanced senses. He spun around and grabbed Hiles' wrist.
Seeing the device in Hiles' hand, Mark yanked him forward and launched a headbutt straight into Hiles' face. Hiles tumbled to the ground, his nose bleeding, and passed out.
Mark walked closer to the device and knelt down, inspecting it without touching it. He was confused to see such an advanced device in the hands of a normal teacher.
'What was he planning to do to me?'
He called the police and told them what happened. Then he waited. It took twenty minutes for them to arrive, and their appearance caused a big ruckus.
When they opened the classroom door, they found Mark playing on his phone. He looked up at them casually.
"That's the guy who tried to do something to me."
The police were shocked, to say the least, at how relaxed Mark was.
"You should check his house. I don't think he's up to any good."
The police collected the evidence and took both Mark and Hiles to the station. The students still at school were shocked to see Mark and Hiles being taken away by the police.
On the way to the station, Mark got a message from Arthur.
[Art: Your suit is ready.]
[Mark: Nice. I'll pick it up later.]
[Art: Got it.]
When Mark arrived at the police station, he gave his statement, telling the truth, and waited for his parents to pick him up. The police also got new information while he waited: they checked the device Hiles had tried to use on Mark and found it contained drugs, which they informed him about.
A few minutes later, Nolan and Debbie arrived to get him. Mark got up from his seat and smiled at them. "Mom, Dad, nice to see you two."
Nolan looked him up and down, seeing that Mark was fine, while Debbie looked very concerned and worried, her son had entered a police station for the first time in his life.
"What really happened? I got a call from the police that you were at the station. What did you do?" Debbie asked, staring at his face, worrying that he'd done something criminal.
Even Nolan was slightly worried, but he trusted his son enough to believe he hadn't done anything wrong.
"My teacher tried to kidnap me, so I knocked him out," Mark explained.
Hearing that, both of them sighed in relief, glad that nothing serious had happened and that Mark was safe.
"Your mother was worried you did something unlawful. I was right, there was nothing to worry about. Mark wouldn't do something like that," Nolan said with a smile.
Debbie slapped Nolan's arm, not too hard, not too soft, and gave him a look. Nolan just smiled, seeing that Debbie was slightly upset.
"He nearly got kidnapped, but let's leave," Debbie said, walking out first.
Nolan and Mark followed, both shaking their heads at Debbie's reaction. When they were finally outside the police station, Mark said to them, "I'm heading to meet Art. He said the suit is ready."
"Let's all go," Nolan said. He wanted to see what design Mark had chosen.
"I agree. I want to see my son in his suit," Debbie said.
"Alright," Mark said, not rejecting their company.
With that, they went out of public sight and flew toward Arthur's shop, with Debbie carried by Nolan. When they arrived and entered the secret workshop, Arthur, who was eating pasta, looked up in surprise at the whole Grayson family showing up. He stopped eating and said with a smile, "This is new. Welcome, Debbie."
"It's been a while," Debbie greeted Arthur with a smile.
Nolan nodded at Arthur, and Arthur nodded back before they shook hands.
"So, Art, where's the suit?" Mark asked, eager to test out the custom-made suit based on his drawing.
"Follow me," Arthur said, getting up from his seat.
Mark followed him to the back, where Arthur showed him the suit. "You're gonna like it."
"I can't wait." Mark was excited about the suit, based on a hero character from his past life. When they reached it, he stared at the mannequin wearing his suit. "It looks great."
"It's yours. Go try it on," Arthur said, walking back out to wait with Nolan and Debbie while Mark changed. He continued eating his food.
"Did you design the suit?" Nolan asked, curious.
"No, your son designed it. He even drew it. It was quite creative. Let's see if I remember where I put the design." Arthur began searching for the paper Mark had drawn his suit on.
As he began to search, Mark came out from the back in his new suit. It was a sleek silver armor with bold red sections on the chest, shoulders, arms, thighs, and shins. A silver helmet with a central crest covered his head, featuring glowing golden eyes. A small blue light glowed at the center of his chest.
Debbie smiled, the color scheme was similar enough to Omni-Man's. She thought Mark was trying to follow in Nolan's footsteps. Nolan smiled too; the suit wasn't bad at all, it looked good. Arthur stopped searching, happy to see the suit he'd made looking so well.
"Have you decided on a name yet?" Arthur asked, wondering if Mark had chosen one.
"Yeah." Mark nodded and said his hero name. "Ultraman."
