Chapter 7 - Bolelang's hidden agenda

As everything went blank, I felt myself falling, like I was tumbling down a dark tunnel with no end in sight. The world around me was a blur, and the only thing I could feel was the spark of electricity in my fingers, growing stronger by the second.

When I came to, I was standing in a strange, unfamiliar place. It was a cavern, lit by flickering torches that cast eerie shadows on the walls. Bolelang was still holding my hand, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Welcome to our birth right, Boitseko," she said, her voice echoing off the cavern walls. Telang stepped forward, a look of triumph on her face. "You and Bolelang are the key to unlocking the moon's power," she said. "Together, you'll be unstoppable." I shook my head, trying to clear it. What was going on? What did they want from me? Bolelang's grip on my hand tightened. "It's time, Boitseko," she said. "Time for us to fulfil our destiny."

And with that, everything started to spin again, like I was caught in a whirlwind. I felt a surge of power, like I was tapping into something ancient and wild. As the power surged through me, I felt my body start to change. My vision blurred, and my senses heightened. I could smell the damp earth, feel the rough stone beneath my feet, and hear the distant howling of wolves. Bolelang's grip on my hand was like a vice. "Let go, Boitseko," she whispered, her voice urgent. "Let the power take over." I tried to resist, but it was too strong. The energy coursed through me, and I felt myself shifting, my body transforming. I was becoming something else, something wild.

When the transformation was complete, I looked down at my hands and saw claws, sharp and deadly. Telang's smile was cold. "Welcome to the evil pack, Boitseko," she said. "You're one of us now." Bolelang released my hand, and I took a step back, trying to process what was happening. I had powers I didn't understand. Suddenly, Kalebe burst into the cavern, his eyes scanning the room. When he saw me, he froze. "Boitseko?" he said, his voice uncertain. I took a step forward, my claws extended. I didn't know what I was capable of, and I didn't know if I could control it. Kalebe's eyes locked onto mine, and he took a step forward. "Boitseko, it's me," he said, his voice calm. "You can control it. You just need to focus."

I looked at him, feeling a glimmer of recognition. Kalebe was my friend. I could trust him. I focused on Kalebe's voice, trying to push back the wildness inside me. I took a deep breath, feeling the power coursing through my veins. Kalebe took another step forward, his hands held out in a calming gesture. "You can do this, Boitseko," he said. "Just breathe and focus on me." I locked eyes with him, feeling the wildness recede slightly. I was still a werewolf, but I was in control. Telang's expression was furious. "Foolish girl," she spat. "You can't resist the power forever." Bolelang stepped forward, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Let her be, Telang," she said. "She's just learning."

I glared at Telang, feeling a surge of defiance. "I'm not going to be controlled," I said, my voice low and growly. Kalebe nodded, a small smile on his face. "That's it, Boitseko," he said. "You're in control." As I stood there, I realized I had a choice. I could give in to the power, or I could use it to protect the people I cared about.

I felt a surge of anger and let unleash my fury on Telang, claws extended and a snarl on my lips pounce on her, taking her down with a fierce growl. Let the power consume me, becoming the wild creature I was meant to be. Telang's eyes flashed with fear as I approached her, but she stood her ground. "You can't control it, Boitseko," she taunted. "You're a monster." I snarled, my claws inches from her face. "I'm not a monster," I growled. "I'm a force of nature." Kalebe stepped forward, his voice calm. "Boitseko, don't do this. You're better than this." I hesitated, my claws trembling with rage. But then I looked at Telang, and my anger flared up again.

"You're going to pay for what you've done," I growled, my voice barely recognizable. As I prepared to strike, Bolelang stepped forward, her eyes shining with excitement. "Wait, Boitseko," she said. "I have a better idea." I snarled, ignoring Bolelang's words. I lunged at Telang, my claws extended. She tried to defend herself, but I was too fast, too powerful. I pinned her to the ground, my jaws inches from her face. Telang's eyes were wide with fear, and for a moment, I felt a pang of satisfaction. But as I looked into her eyes, I saw something that gave me pause. A glimmer of desperation, of fear… of hope. Suddenly, I heard Kalebe's voice, calm and steady. "Boitseko, stop. This isn't you."

I looked up at him, my chest heaving with exertion. I saw the concern in his eyes, the worry for me. Slowly, I released Telang, my claws retracting as I stepped back. I was still a werewolf, still wild, but I was in control. Telang scrambled to her feet, her eyes darting between me and Kalebe. "This isn't over," she spat, before turning and fleeing the cavern. I watched her go, my chest still heaving with exertion. Kalebe approached me, his eyes locked on mine. "You okay?" he asked, his voice soft. I nodded, feeling a mix of emotions. I was still trying to process what was happening, what I was becoming. Bolelang stepped forward, a small smile on her face. "Well, that was fun," she said.

I glared at her, still unsure what to make of my twin sister. I sighed, feeling a bit reluctant, but Bolelang's curious expression made me nod. "Fine," I said. "Let's talk." Bolelang smiled, leading me to a nearby boulder. We sat down, and she turned to me with an eager look. "So, sis," she said, "I've been searching for you for a while now." I raised an eyebrow. "Why?" Bolelang's eyes sparkled. "Because we're connected, Boitseko. We're twins, and our powers are linked. I can feel it." I frowned, unsure what to make of her words. "What do you mean, linked?" Bolelang leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "I mean, we can do things together. Big things. With our combined power, we can take over the pack, take over the world…"

I shook my head, feeling uneasy. "I don't know, Bolelang. I'm not sure I'm ready for that." Bolelang's expression turned pensive, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of uncertainty in her eyes. "I understand," she said. "But promise me one thing, sis. Promise me you'll think about it." I hesitated, feeling a mix of emotions. Part of me was curious, part of me was scared. But I nodded, and Bolelang smiled, her eyes gleaming with excitement. As we sat there, Kalebe approached us, his eyes watchful. "Everything okay?" he asked, his gaze flicking between me and Bolelang. I nodded, feeling a bit unsure. "Yeah, we're just… talking." Kalebe's expression turned skeptical, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he sat down next to me, his presence reassuring.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized Bolelang's true intentions. I looked at her, trying to keep my expression neutral. "So, what's the plan?" I asked, playing along. Bolelang smiled, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Telang wants to meet with you, Boitseko. She's willing to offer you a deal." I raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "What kind of deal?" Bolelang leaned in, her voice low. "She'll give you control of the pack, alongside her, if you agree to work with her. But she wants to meet with you in person, to finalize the details." I glanced at Kalebe, who was watching us with a skeptical expression. I knew I needed to be careful. I nodded, pretending to agree to Bolelang's plan. "Okay, I'll meet with Telang," I said, trying to sound convincing.

Bolelang smiled, her eyes gleaming with triumph. "Great," she said. "Telang will be waiting for you at the old windmill on the outskirts of town. Come alone." I nodded, making a mental note of the location. I knew I needed to get away and warn Kalebe. As Bolelang got up to leave, I stood up too, trying to act casual. "I'll see you later, sis," I said, trying to sound like I was buying the act. Bolelang smiled, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of doubt in her eyes. But then she turned and walked away, leaving me with Kalebe. As soon as she was out of earshot, Kalebe turned to me, his expression urgent. "What was that about?" he asked.

I quickly filled him in on the plan, and Kalebe's eyes narrowed. "We need to set a trap for Telang," he said. "But we need to be careful. She's getting desperate." I nodded, feeling a surge of determination. We were going to take down Telang, and Bolelang was going to regret ever crossing us. I turned to Kalebe, a plan forming in my mind. "Let's go talk to Bolelang," I said, my voice low. Kalebe raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure that's a good idea?" I nodded. "I want to know what's going on. If she's working with Telang, I want to know why." We made our way back to where Bolelang was waiting, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. As we approached, I could see the tension In her shoulders, the slight tremble in her hand.

"Bolelang," I said, my voice firm. "I know what you're doing." Bolelang's expression faltered for a moment, before she regained control. "What are you talking about, sis?" she asked, trying to sound innocent. I took a step closer, my eyes locked on hers. "I'm talking about you working with Telang. What's going on?" Bolelang's mask slipped, and for a moment, I saw a flash of guilt in her eyes. "I…I did it for us, Boitseko," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I did it so we could be powerful together." I shook my head, feeling a mix of emotions. "You're not who I thought you were, Bolelang," I said, my voice sad.

Bolelang's expression crumbled, and for a moment, I saw the person she could have been. But then her eyes hardened, and she turned to run. Kalebe was faster, catching her wrist and holding her in place. "It's over, Bolelang," he said, his voice firm.
