Chapter 394 - 394

Before any of this, a lot of preparation is required.

Survey a suitable planet for a foothold and look for any possible civilization.

All of this requires pooling the world's top knowledge; the supercomputer Red Queen alone fills a server room the size of a standard football field.

Inside is stored the planet's most advanced scientific research, ready to be pulled out whenever a problem needs solving.

Alexia, the brightest of the wives, refuses to be a baby-maker like Monica and Marguerite; she must keep learning to keep the ship running.

Alexia has already given birth to a daughter, and a second child is out of the question. She prefers studying—learning makes her happy.

Alex's IQ is second only to Alexia; her field is sustainable energy development.

In space travel there is no resupply, so resources must be recycled to keep everyone adequately powered and nourished.

Everyone works in harmony; no discord has ever appeared.

Maintaining harmony is the most basic requirement.

A pretty parasite with no contribution should keep house and do what a wife is supposed to do.

Only Eddie is secretly delighted—after all that early struggle, he finally has qualified people working for him.

After Elaine leaves, Eddie takes another call. "Hello, this is Eddie—what's up?"

Anyone calling must know him, or the call wouldn't go through.

A young woman's voice: "I'm Zoey! Eddie, can you come to New World Medical University?"

"What's the matter?" Eddie looks odd—turns out it's Zoey from Resident Evil VII.

"We're holding a graduation thesis presentation and I think some of it might help you. Shén Yà Pharmaceutical and Glory Pharmaceutical will both send observers—perform well and you could join their companies!" Zoey is nervous; it's her first time asking a boy out.

"All right, when does it start?" Eddie waves to Jessica.

Tall Jessica produces a cigarette and lights it for him, gentle and virtuous—no one would guess she's ruthless.

"Two days from now—will you come?" Zoey asks expectantly; what girl doesn't dream? Handsome, rich, and funny—perfect boyfriend material.

Hanging up, Eddie almost forgets—one E-Mold remains locked.

E-Mold is a new strategic weapon jointly developed by Shén Yà Pharmaceutical and Glory Pharmaceutical, using an isolated, evolved mold as its core.

This evolved mold grants the user the ability to control another's mind silently—more covert even than Alexia's complete Veronica Virus.

But for the fully evolved Alexia, her control ability has already surpassed what she had in Antarctica.

Back then she could only control plants, and anyone with a shred of willpower could break free from Veronica Virus.

Now Alexia can silently control anyone; nothing in the world can escape her.

How lonely is invincibility? Eddie doesn't know, but Alexia does, which is why she hides on the island to study—there's simply no one left to fight.

At this thought, Eddie picks up the phone again. "Is the E-Mold experiment finished?"

Ye Minzhi, head of Shenya's South India Branch, laughs. "Not yet, but we're close—testing is ready. Why? Alex already sent word the E-Mold data has no further research value."

"Just asking about E-Series progress." Eddie blows smoke rings, arm around Jessica—life is good.

"E-Series just started—don't get any funny ideas; three years minimum, death penalty maximum," Ye Minzhi warns.

After long cooperation, Ye Minzhi thinks Eddie's a decent guy—then she ends up pregnant with his child.

Some bastard seems to believe pregnancy is the only real way to join the club.

"Relax, I'm not that crazy. I just like stealing other people's victories—no terrifying ideas here." Eddie protests.

Two days later, in front of the medical university, Eddie arrives with three female bodyguards.

The female students here are already putting on makeup, dressing provocatively, as if ready to enter society—fashion forward.

"Hi, are you Eddie?" a voice calls from behind.

Eddie turns—standing there is Mia, whom he last saw in Terragrigia! "You—long time no see!"

Mia is still gorgeous, unlike tall white girls she looks almost Eastern, but with fair skin, black hair, and exquisite features.

"I'm good, and you? I kept wanting to contact you but never had the chance—work's been crazy. Finally got some vacation time!" Mia laughs, brushing back her stylish hair—very fashion-forward.

"Today's free—let's go, grab dinner later!" Eddie invites, eyes lighting up—he almost forgot her.

"Sure, if a big shot wants to treat, I'm not turning that down!" Mia smiles sweetly; as a researcher she rarely socializes.

"By the way, do you have a boyfriend?" Eddie suddenly asks—she's not married, is she?

Mia shakes her head. "No—why, want to chase me? Not happening, I'm not ready for marriage or dating!"

Chapter 619: Zoey and Mia

"A pretty girl like you must have tons of suitors. Haha—come on, let's see what interesting papers the kids have nowadays." Eddie gestures invitingly, no clinging—different tactics for different people.

Swing the hoe well—no, apply the right tactic and no fish escapes the hook!

Together they enter the auditorium, capacity five thousand.

A circular podium maximizes space, paired with projectors—high-end configuration, the capitalist world.

Zoey has been waiting here forever; when she spots them she jumps up and waves. "Over here—Eddie, look at me!"

Eddie walks over and hugs her. "I see you—looking beautiful today."

Zoey wears a pitch-black tailored suit with white shirt and handmade high-heeled shoes—entire outfit costs over three million.

After all, Zoey is Marguerite's daughter, and Marguerite has plenty of pocket money to invest in her.

Her son Lucas doesn't fare as well, occasionally receiving cash—because Lucas called Marguerite a shameless bitch. Even as his mother, Marguerite shows him no respect.

Angry, Marguerite gives Lucas nothing, still disgusted with her son.

What can a woman do? With Eddie she's happy—as long as he doesn't reject her, she'll keep serving him; being a nanny is fine.

Zoey beams—she idolizes Eddie. A medical student herself, she knows how valuable his drugs are.

Only insiders recognize insiders— drugs that benefit humanity aren't created overnight.

Rumor in the university says the pharma alliance monopolizes production; once a new drug is developed, other supply chains must be considered.

Benefiting humanity is good, but if it blocks other capitalists' paths—sorry, then it's doomed.
