Chapter 373 - 373

Another phantom flashed past; her partner Sienna appeared, still as valiant as ever, yet with the seductive charm of a socialite, a faint, enchanting smile on her lips.

"Husband, you're a little late." Sienna tilted her head and laughed brightly.

"Isn't the timing perfect? Are you all right? We're going to find Brandon and see what he's up to." Eddie said, looking toward the distant tower.

"He seems to be running some kind of resurrection experiment—transferring brain consciousness. Do you think that's possible? This isn't the place to talk; let's head to the shore." Ada wrinkled her nose, clearly disliking the smell here.

The group reached the shore; not a single monster roamed here—any that did were crushed to pieces by an invisible Magnetic Field.

Alexia lit a cigarette and said lazily, "It's not impossible. Digitize the brain and transmit the consciousness, turn it into an A.I.-like program. You'd live on in another form—though that kind of living is… well, kind of gross."

At that, Eddie's expression turned odd. Was the inevitable finally happening?

All this had originally been orchestrated by Aunt Wei and Alex, but now Aunt Wei was his wife and they'd even had a daughter—changing Alex's life and fate.

Chapter 590: The Queen Is So Damn Civilized

Alex never got the chance; William and Brandon became the big villains instead—and the location shifted to Bailing Island, which is rather intriguing.

Noticing her husband's expression, Alexia curved her lips in a mischievous smile. "Honey, what are you thinking? We're discussing business; save your dirty thoughts for later."

"I am thinking business. This resurrection isn't immortality—just data. Brandon really is disgusting. If he does this, he'll need a suitable body. If it's a woman, won't he find that revolting?" Eddie countered.

A valid question: immortality at the cost of turning from a man into a woman. Acceptable? Absolutely not.

Ada also lit a cigarette, balancing on her tiptoes like a young girl. "Hard to say—maybe a man? Some people can stomach anything for eternal life; they'd become a pile of crap if necessary."

Hard to imagine a sultry beauty like Ada saying something so crude—yet beauties are human too; who cares if they swear?

"We found a heavily fortified facility beneath the tower—still used for Data-Fusion Brainwashing. It could withstand a Nuke; there must be secrets inside." Sienna took a swig of red wine.

"Then let's pay the base of the tower a visit. As for Brandon, leave him to Wesker." Eddie instantly decided: take the credit, let Wesker take the blame.

Wesker moved fast. Passing the Meat-Processing Plant he met a Statue that seemed to need missing parts to unlock a mechanism.

Wesker simply used Explosives to blow the Statue and gate to bits. Solve a puzzle? Screw that—tank-style push forward!

He arrived at a Tavern outside the Mine and heard a scream: a mutated Chainsaw Man brutally killed a companion and then charged raving at them.

Under a hail of bullets the Chainsaw Man hadn't even covered half the distance before collapsing.

Wesker pulled a Large-Caliber Gun and blasted the chainsaw from the man's right hand, then walked over to inspect and collect samples.

Clearly a recent mutation—proof there must still be living people nearby.

The next second a Helicopter took off; before it had flown far its Rotor blew apart. The chopper spun crazily downward, a monster bursting from inside but trapped by the wreckage.

After a brief delay the crashing aircraft exploded—boom! A fireball rose, incinerating the monster with it.

The creature struggled for a few seconds, then went limp and quietly burned to ash.

Strange events followed one after another on the island; even Wesker sensed some conspiracy.

Just then a man quietly appeared atop the tower: the once-promising Naval Fleet Commander Neil, a devoted follower of General Morgan.

"Brandon, our part of the deal is done. By the General's order, hand over the Uroboros Virus and the T-Phobos Virus." Neil extended his hand.

Brandon produced a test tube. "This is a mutated Uroboros I've painstakingly researched for years—it drastically reduces harm to the human body. Take it."

The instant Neil stepped forward, Brandon loaded the tube into a gun and shot him with it.

Neil stared at the wound in disbelief. He never imagined he'd be set up. "Y-you'll regret this. Mock us like this and General Morgan will avenge me!"

Brandon sneered. "Come for revenge? Find me first! I kept my promise—I just delivered it differently. If you're truly capable, perfectly fuse with the Uroboros Virus. If you can't, it only proves you're trash!"

No one knew what happened inside the tower; below, Wesker was still leading an armed squad forward. Specialists recorded everything along the way, apparently to use as evidence.

Eddie and the others followed Ada into the sewers. The air was thick with filth, forcing them to activate transparent gas masks to filter it.

Using magnetic repulsion to fly, they shot through the sewers without needing to walk.

Occasionally they met invisible monsters—half-human, half-insect creatures called Graboids—whose immense strength could kill a fully-armed soldier in seconds.

When they hit an invisible Magnetic Field, the monsters were reduced to meat chunks by the field's force, never even touching anyone.

The first half of the sewers looked normal, but the far end was sealed off by iron gates, the walls lined with hidden photosensitive devices.

"Laser defenses in a sewer? That's overkill to keep out the neighbor next door!" Eddie joked. Even so, he drew his pistol and blasted several sensor lights, popping them like balloons.

At the same time, he used his magnetic ability to twist and rip the wires hidden in the walls.

With power cut, the defenses were useless; Brandon probably never expected Eddie to have such a cheat-level power.

Past the laser corridor stood a ten-ton iron gate.

Alexia hovered in mid-air, her golden hair billowing as she raised a delicate hand; countless vines, already parasitizing the island, burst from the ground.

Under Alexia's control, the vines wrapped around the gate, constricting until it buckled and exploded open with a thunderous clang.

Alexia lowered her hand; the vines swiftly burrowed back underground and everything calmed. "There, gate opened—no Explosives needed. Isn't being civilized better?"

The others were speechless—what part of that was civilized?

Beyond the gate lay a sealed lab. The alloy ceiling made it clear the entire room was an elevator that had descended from the tower above; they were now at the very bottom.

Inside, a Dark skinned man lay in an experimental pod, connected to countless tubes and data cables in his skull—likely the container Brandon had chosen.

Chapter 591: The Cost of Hitting on Someone Could Be Death

Claire stepped to the pod and inspected it. "Honey, this must be the vessel Brandon intends to transfer his consciousness into—but why this guy?"

Ada sauntered over in high heels, her figure graceful. "This man currently has the highest compatibility among the test subjects. He's a brain-disease patient with no memories—his mind is a blank slate—and his physique is excellent: the perfect container."

Seems Aunt Wang's intel skills haven't faded even after marriage.

At home she's a sexy wife; in the field, a cool and steady spy.

Eddie rapped the glass. "This glass can stop Gatling fire and costs a fortune. Looks like that old coot Brandon plans to return from the dead."

A flicker of disgust crossed Alexia's beautiful eyes. "This method sickens me—burn it."

Even the ever-merciful Claire showed revulsion; she despised such tactics. She's kind, not stupid—helping when she can is simply her nature.

With a wave of Eddie's hand, the man in the cryo-pod disintegrated into a pile of trash.

Another gesture sent gasoline barrels flying through the twisted doorway, drenching the entire lab in fuel.
