Chapter 166 - 166

Wesker was pretty much the same; he didn't dare to go out openly. If he started his own business, he would definitely be wanted. There was even less need to mention Dr. Mueller; human experimentation alone was enough to send him to a firing squad. Now he could only work as a researcher for the Federal Military to atone for his sins.

These Umbrella employees weren't living well. They were more or less restricted by previous experimental records and videos. Once they grew too big, their past would be exposed, and they would be the ones to die.

"Eddie? Hmph, he's nothing but a charlatan. Give me some time, and I'll crack his so-called inhibitory drugs. It's just that Travis and those guys are complete idiots; they all deserve to die." William snorted, looking down on Eddie from the bottom of his heart. If he knew Annette had followed Eddie, wouldn't he be so enraged that he'd die on the spot?

In the cruise ship laboratory, Suzuki Yoko was designing software programs. She was responsible for developing various software related to experimental development to help her sisters better perform experimental calculations.

A ringtone sounded. The phone next to the steaming coffee cup rang. Suzuki Yoko hummed a tune, her delicate fingers tapping on the keyboard. She pressed the answer button and put on her Bluetooth headset. "Who is it? Is there something wrong?"

A hurried sound of footsteps came, followed by a young female voice, "Thank goodness, I finally got through to your backup phone. I'm Valerie, do you remember me? We were roommates! We were in the same dorm at Raccoon City University."

Suzuki Yoko tilted her head, thinking carefully. In her search for lost memories, she did indeed attend Raccoon City University and befriended a very good roommate. However, when the crisis broke out, this roommate went to take a postgraduate entrance exam, and she didn't know what happened to her.

"I remember. What's wrong?" Suzuki Yoko was a little curious.

"I'm in Lycia City. Some strange men in black are trying to capture me. They are Umbrella people. I don't know why, but I heard that many Raccoon City survivors have had accidents recently. Can you come and save me? I'm trapped here." Valerie's tone was a little urgent.

"Yes, I'll have my boss save you. Hang up now, set your phone to silent mode. Don't worry, just trust me." Suzuki Yoko nodded, then hung up the phone.

Hiding in a fire cabinet in an apartment building, Valerie did as Suzuki Yoko instructed, adjusting her breathing to avoid being discovered by others.

Eddie was in the middle of his research when he received a call from Suzuki Yoko. They weren't far from each other, just next door. "What's up, Yoko?"

"Eddie, I have a classmate, her name is Valerie Harmon. She's an elite in the Chemistry Department, and she previously obtained an internship qualification as a senior researcher at Umbrella. Now she's being hunted by Umbrella personnel in Lycia City. Her achievements in chemistry and biology are both very good, so I was wondering if you could go and save her?" Suzuki Yoko said as she entered the lab.

Alex was still at the computer, assisting her husband in developing a serum to counter Spencer. She had snuck out to check on her husband's safety and ask for his help, also delivering a Veronica Virus sample to her man. She wasn't concerned or bothered by other matters.

Chapter 276: Alex's Suggestion

Suzuki Yoko nodded, "Yes, she has always helped Umbrella's research institute with some experimental research. Before the crisis, she followed Umbrella's survey team on an expedition. We just found out that Umbrella seems to be deliberately eliminating employees and some survivors who know their secrets, trying to cover up evidence."

"If she can be trusted, then let's go save her. I'll talk to VECTOR about it." Eddie nodded, not particularly concerned about a college student. Speaking of which, are college students nowadays all so impressive?

Suzuki Yoko hesitated, "Eddie, I think you can go save her yourself. She has no parents or other relatives, she relies entirely on her own abilities to go to college. She's a very good person and has provided me with a lot of help. She joined Umbrella because she wanted to help me investigate the cause of my amnesia; otherwise, she would have interned at another company."

Alex understood. This was an excellent employee with no ties, who could be recruited into their team. She was very satisfied with all the members her husband recruited; at least none of them were useless. Even Katherine, the mayor's daughter, who didn't seem very powerful at the moment, was very good at helping her husband relieve stress.

"My dear, you can go and save that college student; it should be helpful to you. I checked the information, and she once participated in the T-Phobos Project, which was originally a project I was in charge of, a project for eternal life." Alex finished speaking and laughed.

That was a mockery of Spencer. He wanted immortality with just a T-Phobos? That was completely impossible; without her husband Eddie's clear thinking, eternal life could not be achieved.

Alex didn't believe that carbon-based life could achieve immortality, but currently, it seemed only Eddie could. That's why she chose to invest early and marry this man who was more than ten years younger than her.

"Alright, since you've said so, I'll go save her. I'll head out first; you stay here." Eddie waved his hand, put on his gear, and went to the deck. This time, Claire was accompanying him.

Christine needed to assist Rebecca in handling the fusion of the Progenitor Virus mutant strain and the G-Virus, to remove most of the toxicity, and then try to find a balance.

On the deck, VECTOR, the acting operations commander of the Wolf Team, who had completed preparations for departure, had been waiting for a long time. Seeing Eddie arrive, he immediately saluted, "Boss, everything is ready."

"Let's go!" Eddie pulled Claire onto the plane.

"Claire, we're going to rescue a college student. She used to work for Umbrella and is now being hunted by Umbrella's private military. This time, we're going to rescue her and bring her back." Eddie explained.

Claire, who was busy dealing with the relief foundation, finally realized that she was about to perform her first mission. "I will definitely work hard!"

"Your efforts should be focused on rescuing those citizens who need help, and I've set an eight-hour workday, no overtime allowed. You must abide by that." Eddie said calmly.

"I understand." Claire felt a little secretly pleased; being cared for by a man felt quite nice.

Three hours later, Eddie arrived in Lycia City, a suburban city similar to Raccoon City. He had called the local branch beforehand to arrange an armed rescue, so there was no obstruction.

In the residential apartment building, there were Umbrella snipers on the rooftop, well-hidden, but Eddie spotted them immediately.

"Act now. This time, don't hold back. Kill them. The agents here are very happy to exchange Umbrella employees' bodies for Merits." Eddie waved his hand, and VECTOR and his two teammates immediately charged forward.

"Exchange their bodies for merit?" Claire frowned slightly.

"Umbrella has already been prosecuted as the main culprit of the Raccoon City disaster. Their private military is naturally a rich source of merit. This is cruel, isn't it? When a wall falls, everyone pushes it down; they can only blame themselves for seeking death." Eddie explained.

"It really is cruel, but Umbrella deserves it. Eddie, have you contacted my brother yet?" Claire began to urge again.

"Of course, we should be able to talk on the phone when we get back. You really are a bit impatient." Eddie smiled and playfully tapped her nose.

This gesture made Claire feel a little embarrassed, somewhat unaccustomed to it, but it felt good.

"Let's go. As the leader of the rescue organization, you can't neglect firearms combat either." Eddie said, picking up his pistol and entering the apartment.

Along the way, they saw many residents who had died tragically. These people were killed by Umbrella's special forces; anyone who blocked their path was to die.

Claire was very displeased. Her hatred for Umbrella grew deeper and deeper. People who disregard life do not deserve respect.

Bang! Claire precisely shot a special forces member who was blocking a corner, blowing out his eye with a single headshot.

She dodged into a room, avoiding the grenade blast. Using grenades in an apartment? Had these guys gone mad?

Eddie led Claire all the way to a corridor on the twentieth floor. A strong man was holding a Gatling gun, aiming it at them. As soon as he saw the two appear, he frantically spun the machine gun.

Eddie couldn't let him attack, because the person he was saving was in the fire box in the corridor. He took out his Samurai Edge, and with his mental power incredibly focused, even the Gatling bullets, which traveled at a thousand meters per second, seemed incredibly slow.

He peeked out, aimed at the Gatling gun man, and pulled the trigger. A bullet flew against the metal storm, accurately hitting the machine gun man's head, killing him with a single headshot.

"How did you do that? That's incredible!" Claire exclaimed.

"It's not that hard. As long as you sign that contract with me, I can give you that ability too." Eddie grinned mischievously.

Claire lowered her head, a little embarrassed. That contract meant working for Eddie for twenty years, during which she wasn't allowed to date, marry, or have children with other men, ostensibly to keep her focused on her work.

"Let's talk about it after my brother is safe. I'll only feel at ease when he's safe. Your conditions are a bit harsh, but I trust you. Even though you're not a good person, you make people trust you." Claire smiled sweetly, her smile very pure.

Chapter 277: Rescue, Claire's Enhancement

He opened the box door and found it locked from the inside. "Is that Valerie? Yoko sent me to save you. If you hear me, open the door."

There was still no response from inside, as if no one was there, but the box, embedded in the wall, was dripping blood.

"I'll go find tools to open it!" Claire said, preparing to look for tools.

Eddie, however, shook his head. "No need." He then forcefully gripped the edge of the box and roughly tore open the box that was locked from the inside.

A white female college student, wearing glasses, a backpack, and sportswear, with fair skin, was curled up in the box, and her back was already bloody and mangled from bullet wounds.

"Damn it, she's injured; she needs treatment quickly." Eddie felt the situation was serious. The person he needed to save was actually injured; this was not good news.

"Wait, Eddie, there's a test tube here, maybe it's something." Claire picked up a test tube nearby.
