Wi Hajoon stood behind him, watching quietly as Rim Young spoke with his older sister. Rim Young ended the call shortly after, assuring her that he would return home soon.
"Who says you're going back tomorrow? Or anytime soon?"
"I've overstayed my welcome here, and I don't think your mom likes having me around, especially since you're in your room with me all day, every day."
"It doesn't matter. I want to stay with you for as long as I'm away from the center. Until they call me back, I'll just think of it as a vacation. They were always so stingy with our days off, working us to the bone."
Wi Hajoon came over and sat beside him on the large, U-shaped couch, which was mostly crowded with cushions. Rim Young had pushed several of them aside to clear a small space for himself in the corner.
"This is the longest I've been away from the center since I graduated from high school..."
"You should spend more time with your mom, then. She's also at home."
