Chapter 15 - Anomaly event #4

He lunged forward.

His fists rained down violently.

Cyan met them head-on, blocking with Ziban's claws.

Swoosh… Swoosh… Clang!!

Lightning strikes followed one after another.

Cyan barely dodged them each time.

A battle of speed and endurance.

They exchanged blows relentlessly.

But after only three minutes…

Cyan began to falter.

Damn it… this child's body can't keep up.

Rain began to fall.

The situation worsened instantly.

His vision blurred.

The ground became slippery.

Hans showed no sign of slowing down.

One of the claws snapped in half.

So this is the limit…

A low-level demon's weapon can't withstand Fur's power.

Another lightning bolt struck from above.

Cyan barely avoided it.

KRAK!!

But Hans was already there.

A punch followed immediately.

BAM!!

Cyan lost balance and fell.

A heavy blow slammed him into the ground.

Then a kick to the stomach.

POW!!

THUMP… Tremor!

Cyan was launched into the air again.

Another lightning strike hit him mid-flight.

WOOSH… KRAK!!

His condition was terrible.

His body was covered in wounds and blood.

Only enough mana for one more mid-tier spell.

"So you've finally given up?" Hans sneered.

At that moment—

A notification appeared before Cyan's eyes.

—Thunder Attribute Privilege cooldown has ended—

—Thunder Attribute Privilege cooldown has ended—

—Thunder Attribute Privilege cooldown has ended—

Perfect timing.

Now I have enough power to beat him.

But instead of attacking immediately, Cyan forced himself to stand.

A new plan formed in his mind.

Taking advantage of Hans's momentary carelessness, Cyan struck the ground with lightning.

The current rushed forward—

Hans slipped instantly.

The lightning reduced friction beneath his feet.

Combined with the rain, he completely lost balance.

Cyan didn't hesitate.

He dashed forward.

"Come… Azure Annihilation Lightning."

A bolt descended from the sky into Cyan's palm.

Azure Lightning condensed into his claw like a blade.

A sword strike formed from saint-tier magic.

He slashed.

Aimed straight at Hans's head.

But—

A lightning bolt struck Cyan at that exact moment.

The trajectory shifted.

The slash veered—

and cut down through Hans's shoulder.

SLASH!!

His arm was severed instantly.

"Aaaaargh!! You bastard!"

But Cyan had no strength left.

He collapsed, staring at Hans in frustration.

Did I… fail?

Damn it…

"Hahaha… in the end, I'm still the winner."

Hans laughed triumphantly.

"You used a king-tier spell."

"You tried every dirty trick you could."

"And yet… everything was ruined by your own teammate."

"I'll give you some credit."

"A six-year-old casting an incomplete king-tier lightning spell…"

"Even with only one-twentieth of my power, that's impressive."

"Impressive enough… to become my vessel."

_____

Three minutes earlier,

Caius slowly opened his eyes after nearly an hour of unconsciousness.

His vision was still blurry, but one thing stood out clearly.

The one who had beaten him so badly…

Hans… was now lying on the ground.

"That bastard…"

He gathered every last bit of mana in his body and forced himself to cast a high-tier spell.

He didn't care what would happen next. Even if he passed out again, it didn't matter.

He just wanted revenge.

But because of the rain and his exhausted condition, his aim was off.

The attack shot forward and headed straight toward Cyan.

"Damn it… I missed."

"Why is that useless brat standing there…"

Caius collapsed again.

Cyan heard everything.

Hans's mocking voice. Caius's mistake.

A wave of frustration hit him.

For a moment, he almost gave up.

What a waste…

I didn't want to give up this life.

I still wanted to train magic.

I still wanted to learn more.

Then a notification appeared.

Hidden Achievement: Electromagnetic Induction completed.

Cyan froze.

Then he understood immediately.

Hans's body suddenly convulsed violently.

Lightning surged across him without control.

Right… that's it.

How could I forget something so basic?

Electricity flows through water.

Rain isn't always a disadvantage.

Bolts of lightning continued to strike him over and over again.

Hans screamed as his body twisted, revealing his true form.

A winged, two-legged deer-like demon.

However, Fur seems to lack a wing.

"You bastard! Always relying on cheap tricks!"

Cyan let out a faint smile.

For the first time, he had pushed a Demon Duke to the brink of death.

But his consciousness was fading.

Cyan collapsed.

Still in pain, Fur raised his hand to finish everything.

"End this."

At that moment, a bolt of lightning struck down from the sky.

Fur barely dodged it.

The one who cast it was Konan Von Velton.

"What is a demon like you doing here?"

"I am Hans, the butler, my lord."

Konan's eyes turned cold.

"So you've possessed him."

"And you still dare to lie in front of me?"

Fur didn't hesitate.

He rushed toward Cyan, trying to take him hostage.

But Konan reacted instantly.

Two lightning bolts struck down and blocked his path.

KRAK! KRAK!

Fur gritted his teeth.

Damn it… I have to escape.

He pulled out a scroll and activated it immediately.

His body vanished.

Another lightning strike hit the ground right after.

BOOM!

Konan sighed softly.

"He escaped."

"He used a teleportation scroll."

Then he looked at Cyan.

"At least… I managed to save a talent of the family."
