Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Completely Shameless

Danie stepped into Enda's apartment, threw her backpack onto the sofa, shuffled her slippers as she ran into the kitchen to open the fridge, took out a can of cola, popped it open, and gulped it down; acting as completely at home as she pleased.

Enda frowned slightly, but still didn't say anything.

The brat burped after finishing the drink, and tossed the can into the sink with a loud clatter. Enda couldn't hold back anymore:

"The trash can is right there at your feet, don't you know how to throw it in there?"

She pouted her lips and scoffed:

"It was just convenient, why are you so grumpy."

"At your house, you can do whatever you want, but THIS IS MY HOUSE! Put it in the trash can!"

Danie really wanted to curse a few words but remembered her mother's instructions, so she tried to endure it. She petulantly picked up the empty can, threw it into the trash can, then turned around to grab her backpack and walked straight into Enda's bedroom. He snapped:

"Who let you into my room? Go to the guest room."

"Nobody lives in the guest room, it's deadly gloomy and cold. Who knows, there might even be mold, cockroaches, or mice in there. I don't care, I want to sleep in this room."

Enda couldn't stand it anymore and said with a cold face:

"Stay in the guest room or get the hell out of here."

The aura around him was so overbearing that it made Danie shrink back a little. In her impression, Enda was still the timid, easily bullied kid from their childhood. Actually, if Dante were here, he would be very surprised, because the aura around Enda right now was exactly like Dante's.

"Fine, I'll stay there, why so tense."

She slammed the door with a loud bang, making the door rattle violently, and tossed her head as she walked into the guest bedroom.

Actually, she was just making excuses to test where Enda's limits were. When it came to reading other people's faces, she was much smarter than her mother.

Enda ignored her childish antics. He went into his room, locked the door, and focused on working on his thesis. In the other room, who knows what Danie was doing; there were banging and crashing sounds every now and then, annoying him to death.

In order for his youngest uncle to be able to escape from that mother and daughter, he endured it.

At noon, Danie ran noisily to Enda's room, pounding heavily on the door:

"Enda, Enda!"

Enda irritably put down his laptop, opened the door, and frowned at her:

"What is it?"

"Wifi password?"

"1234567890"

"Oh, alright. I'm hungry, go cook something."

Enda almost cursed 'motherfucker'. He said:

"Rice and food are already there, cook and eat by yourself. Do I have to serve you too?"

She pouted her lips:

"I don't know how to cook."

"Wait."

Enda slammed the door shut. A moment later, he opened it and threw a menu at her:

"The phone number is at the bottom. Order whatever you want to eat yourself. I'm busy, don't bother me anymore."

After speaking, he was about to close the door when Danie quickly blocked it with her foot, holding out her hand and lifting her chin.

Enda: "?"

"Money."

Money my fucking ass!!!

"If you don't have money, then don't eat."

After saying that, he slammed the door shut. Danie still wouldn't let it go, banging loudly on the door. Enda decisively put on his headphones and turned the volume to the max.

She knocked for a while, and seeing that he wouldn't open the door, she started cursing out loud. Finally, she still had to take out her own money to buy food.

Damn it, she thought she could get free meals so she could save the money her dad gave her to buy a watch. Who would have thought this bastard wouldn't give her any face at all.

She ate while calling her mother to complain, occasionally raising her voice to curse. Unfortunately, Enda didn't hear a thing. He quietly opened the camera outside his room to see what that brat was doing.

Danie had one leg pulled up onto the chair, talking while biting into a chicken leg. The chicken bones were thrown haphazardly on the dining table, and tissues and plastic bags were scattered all over the floor.

Enda was so angry that he sent the video to complain to Dante, telling him aggrievedly:

[Adorable Baby: It's only been a few hours and it's already like this. Should I speed up the process, grab the evidence, and kick her out?]

[Neighbor guy: Just stay calm, give it another week.]

[Adorable Baby: *Sob*, I don't want to go out and look at her face at all.]

[Neighbor guy: Come to the company with me.]

[Adorable Baby: Is that okay?]

[Neighbor guy: It's fine. I'll pick you up to go eat later, then we'll head straight to the company.]

[Adorable Baby: Then I'll go to Tequila cafe and wait for you.]

Enda waited for Danie to finish eating and go into her room before quietly packing his laptop into his backpack and locking his room door. When he passed by the dining room and saw the messy pile, he frowned slightly but ignored it.

Hearing the door open, Danie knew Enda was going out. She hid behind the door, making sure that he had really left before she began ransacking the house, not missing a single small detail. In the end, she was exhausted but couldn't find anything.

"Where did this dead bastard hide the will?"

She tried to open his bedroom door, discovered it was locked from the inside, and kicked it a few times in frustration.

...

As soon as he got into the car and closed the door, Enda threw himself into Dante's arms, saying aggrievedly:

"I'm about to die of anger."

Dante burst out laughing and rubbed his head:

"Who was the one insisting on playing the hero, huh? Come on, try to endure it a little bit. Just one more week."

Enda nodded, pouting. Dante took him to a restaurant near the company; they ate a few simple dishes and then headed back.

Enda stood in front of the door, looking at the large signboard 'Hoang Ha Interior Design Company'. He evaluated the storefront a bit, marveling at its size.

"Honey, with a company of this scale, aren't you going to upgrade it to a corporation? Aren't you afraid of dying from exhaustion managing it alone?"

"I pooled funds with a few friends to open this company when I was a sophomore. I didn't expect that during the company's most difficult time, they would take all the assets and design blueprints and run off to join another company, leaving me with an empty shell and a massive debt. Since then, I'd rather work myself to death than rely on anyone else. Let's go in, standing out here is way too hot."

Enda felt his heart ache as he listened; how had Dante managed to shoulder the burden through all that time?

Holding Enda's hand to lead him inside, Dante looked at Enda's heartbroken expression and chuckled softly, gently pinching his nose:

"I'm fine. My parents and siblings didn't just sit idly by and let me suffer losses either. Those people are now either working as hired hands for others or have left the design industry entirely; none of them are living well."

"I'm just sad that I wasn't by your side when you needed me the most."

"I need you right now too, and you've already come to my side."

The two of them flirted as they walked into the exclusive elevator, leaving behind a group of employees staring wide-eyed without blinking. The receptionist dropped her phone, the HR lady dropped her files, the sales guy face-planted into the glass door... The atmosphere seemed to freeze for a few minutes before erupting like a broken beehive. Everyone pulled out their phones, screaming to their friends and colleagues about the miracle they had just witnessed. It was a complete mess, yet the main culprits were entirely oblivious.

Stepping out of the elevator, Dante suddenly felt that there were more employees on the eighth floor today than usual. However, everyone was focused on their work, occasionally turning to greet him; there was nothing unusual.

Enda was a bit shy, obediently and politely greeting everyone before following Dante into his office.

As soon as the door closed, the scene immediately became chaotic. A bunch of people lost all their professional image, putting their heads together to gossip. The topic focused entirely on the radiantly handsome young man Boss Dante had brought in today.

"Do you think that could be the future boss's wife of our company?"

Randy lightly nudged Halvey's arm and asked, a gossipy look on his face. Halvey shook his head, indicating he didn't know, but the hand shoved in his pocket was tightly clenched.
