The first week after I officially took over managing the hotel chain passed in a tense but surprisingly manageable rhythm. Mornings started early with strategy briefings, afternoons disappeared into financial reports and partnership negotiations, and evenings were spent trying to wash the stress away before coming home to the one person who made all of it worth it.
For the first time in years, the work felt… clean. High-end hospitality, luxury logistics, guest experience optimization. No blood money. No smuggling routes hidden behind legitimate shipments. No late night calls ordering violence. I spent long hours at the gleaming headquarters tower, reviewing quarterly projections with department heads and discussing expansion plans with cruise line partners. It was exhausting, but it didn't leave that familiar stain on my soul.
