The back of her shirt was covered in dirt, dust, and a strange dark, sticky substance that got on her when Angel dragged her out after her legs gave out.
The black substance had been thick and noticeable at first,
But as time passes and the light hits it, it slowly fades and disappears, leaving behind only dirty stains.
Angela looks down at her feet and realizes something.
She is missing a shoe.
One of her running shoes had been left behind in that dark place.
She lost it when she was being dragged,
And there is no way she is going back there to get it.
So now she stands there with only one shoe,
The other foot just in a dirty sock.
The shoe she still has is dirty around the sides where it had been dragged,
But the top part is still mostly fine.
Standing next to Angel, who still looks somewhat put together despite everything,
