Chapter 14 : The Trap
No one moved.
The stranger was still standing in his place, his gun raised to the sky after the shot. Slowly, he brought it back down and aimed it at Kenny's face.
Kenny swallowed his spit. The sarcasm from minutes ago was completely gone.
Stranger: "I told you. I'm serious. Last question... where are Ebiel and Thomas?"
Kenny: "Thomas? Ebiel? I don't have anyone by those names."
Stranger: "I ruled these streets before you were born. Let me break it down for you... Crazy 8 used to be one of my soldiers."
Piggy (his one eye widening): "Nero... Nero Padilla."
Kenny: "You know him?"
Piggy: "I've heard a lot about him. He's a big motherfucker."
Nero (partially uncovering his face, but the light is still dim): "Let's not drag this out. Give me Doctor Fighter and his brother, or you'll regret it."
Kenny: "Big words, old man. You'll choke on them."
Karl: "We're going to be late for the delivery because of him."
Kenny: "That's not a problem."
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out in the distance – not from Nero.
Tig (stepping out of the shadows with his men): "Who fired that shot? Was it that idiot Bishop from the rooftop with his sniper?"
Bishop (over the radio): "Wasn't me. The atmosphere inside is tense. Heated argument going on."
Nero fired two shots at Kenny's feet.
Kenny: "You've crossed the line."
Nero: "The next bullet won't miss."
Kenny opened the car door to get in.
Nero: "Stop, you bastard."
Kenny didn't care. He got in.
Nero pulled out a second gun, kicked Titi toward his men. The members formed a circle around Nero, all of them aiming their weapons at him.
Ratatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatata! A machine gun fired into the air.
Everyone hit the ground.
Tig was holding a machine gun, having just emptied it into the sky.
Chibs (appearing next to Tig): "Looks like you're in a tight spot, Nero."
Tig: "Hey boys... I think we made it to the party on time."
Furious, Kenny got out of his car.
Kenny: "SAMCRO?! What the hell are you doing here? You want to get yourselves killed right here, right now?"
Tig: "Easy, man... we just joined the party."
Kenny: "You killer... what brought you here?"
Tig: "We want our boys."
Kenny: "Do I have custody? Or do you want to become my bitch?"
Tig: "The package."
Karl (suddenly understanding): "You weren't lying when you said this package was very important."
Kenny: "How do you know about the package?"
Tig: "Now... give us the package. We'll leave without bloodshed."
Kenny laughed: "With your numbers – less than ten men – you want bloodshed? Look around you... over thirty men with me."
Tig: "You forgot... but Charming doesn't forget. SAMCRO is a big name."
Kenny: "Bullshit."
Tig: "In one of the buildings, there's a sniper. If you make any suspicious move, he'll put you down."
Kenny: "Nothing new from you, you fucking bastard."
Tig raised his hand and gave a signal with his finger.
A bullet whizzed past Kenny's face, barely missing him.
Kenny: "Hey Motherfuckers... who do you think you are?! Fine... the package is inside."
Tig: "I need proof. You might trick me."
Kenny: "Karl... go with one of the SAMCRO guys and bring the package."
Skinny stepped forward to accompany Karl.
After a few moments, Skinny came back limping, his eyebrow bleeding.
Skinny: "Son of a bitch... he's lying."
One of the members fired a shot toward a SAMCRO member, and a firefight broke out between them.
Tig: "Bastards!"
Kenny quickly got back into his car and shouted at the top of his lungs: "Protect the package!"
Kenny: "Go, go Piggy... fast!"
Piggy: "Keep your head down."
The car sped off while they were still fighting.
Tig: "Bishop... stop that car if you can!"
The car was moving at insane speed, impossible to hit.
Tig: "Plan B... let's get out of here."
Bullets were flying from every direction.
Nero: "How are we getting out of here, Tig?"
Tig: "Bishop... we need to get out. You know what to do."
Bishop (over the radio): "Got it. I've got you covered. Anyone who raises their head or comes out to shoot... I'll take them down."
Bishop bought them time for Tig and the others to retreat.
Tig: "Where's that bastard Chibs?"
The SAMCRO club mounted their bikes and chased after the car.

Five minutes left until the deadline. On the delivery street.
The Sheriff's Deputy was waiting in his car. He looked at his watch and muttered: "Where did that bastard get lost?"
One minute until the deadline. Kenny and Piggy arrived.
They got out of the car. Piggy opened the trunk and pulled out Ebiel and Thomas.
Thomas: "Where are we?"
Piggy: "Shut your mouth."
Kenny grabbed Ebiel by the arm: "Let's go, fast."
The Deputy opened his car door and said: "You're late, you bastards."
Suddenly, a voice came from the darkness.
Voice: "Surprise, motherfuckers."
Everyone spun around.
Voice (cold, sharp): "Weapons on the ground. Now."
