Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Broken Mind, Rising Power

The air inside the abandoned facility turned suffocating.

Anaya stood frozen for a split second, her past and present colliding like a storm inside her mind. Every word that man spoke echoed deeper than any weapon ever could.

Kabir sensed it immediately. "Anaya… don't listen to him," he said firmly. "He's trying to get into your head."

But it was already happening.

The man stepped closer, his voice calm, controlled—dangerous. "You feel it, don't you?" he said. "That hesitation… that confusion. Because deep down, you know I'm telling the truth."

Anaya clenched her head, flashes hitting her—training rooms, cold voices, commands, pain, discipline.

"Stop…" she whispered.

He smiled. "You were never meant to live a normal life. You were designed for chaos. For control. For survival."

Kabir moved forward. "That's enough!"

In one swift motion, he attacked.

But the man was faster.

Within seconds, Kabir was disarmed, thrown back violently against a metal structure. The impact echoed through the room.

"KABIR!" Anaya screamed.

He struggled to stand, pain visible, but his eyes stayed locked on her. "Don't… lose yourself," he said, breath heavy.

The man tilted his head slightly. "See? Weakness," he said. "Attachment makes you vulnerable."

Anaya's breathing grew uneven. Her mind was splitting between two realities—who she was… and who she was made to be.

The man extended his hand toward her.

"Come back, Anaya," he said softly. "You don't have to fight it anymore. You don't have to pretend."

For a moment—just a moment—Anaya didn't move.

Kabir saw it. Fear flashed across his face. "Anaya… NO."

Silence.

Then—

Anaya slowly lowered her hand from her head.

Her breathing steadied.

Her eyes… changed.

Not confused. Not broken.

Focused.

Cold.

She looked up at the man—and this time, there was no hesitation.

"You're right," she said quietly.

Kabir froze.

The man smiled, victorious. "I know I am."

Anaya stepped forward.

"But you made one mistake."

The man narrowed his eyes slightly. "And what's that?"

Her voice dropped—sharp, powerful.

"You thought I'd stay the same."

In a flash, Anaya moved.

Faster than before. Stronger. Precise.

Every move she made now wasn't just instinct—it was mastery. She used everything he had taught her… but in her own way. Unpredictable. Uncontrolled. Free.

The man was forced back for the first time.

Kabir watched in shock. "Anaya…"

The fight turned brutal. Strike after strike, counter after counter. It wasn't just physical—it was personal. Creator vs creation. Control vs freedom.

Finally, Anaya pinned him against the wall, gripping him tightly.

"It ends now," she said, her voice filled with fire.

For a second—victory felt real.

But then—

The man smiled.

Not a defeated smile.

A knowing one.

Anaya's expression shifted. "What…?"

Slowly, he raised his hand—not to fight… but to reveal something.

A small remote device.

Kabir's eyes widened. "Anaya—WAIT!"

Click.

Suddenly, the entire facility began to shake.

Alarms screamed.

Red lights flooded the room.

A mechanical voice echoed:

"Self-destruct sequence activated."

Anaya's grip loosened for just a second.

The man used it.

He pushed her back and stepped away, calm even in chaos.

"You still don't understand," he said. "This was never about winning."

Kabir rushed to Anaya's side. "We need to MOVE!"

The ground trembled harder. Debris started falling.

Anaya looked at the man, anger and realization colliding. "You're running."

He stepped into the shadows, disappearing slowly.

"No," his voice echoed one last time.

"I'm evolving."

And then—he was gone.

The countdown echoed loudly:

10… 9… 8…

Kabir grabbed Anaya's hand. "We don't have time!"

But Anaya wasn't moving.

Her eyes were fixed on the darkness where he vanished.

Something felt… wrong.

Incomplete.

Then suddenly—

Her gaze dropped to the floor.

A screen.

Still active.

Flashing one final message:

"Phase 2: Initiated."

Anaya's heart stopped.

"Kabir…" she whispered.

He turned. "What?"

Her voice shook for the first time—

"This wasn't the plan…"

3… 2… 1…
