Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Wandering in Hau'oli City

Hau'oli City, a city brimming with joy and peace, but at this moment, Hoshino sat in a street corner, looking utterly dejected, unable to feel any happiness.

"I'm done for…"

Assaulting a police officer is a very serious matter no matter where you are, and the body camera must have captured his face.

A bounty would be placed on him immediately, and if he could get 4 dollars, it would be a success.

This was only his second day in this world, and he feared that the rest of his days would be spent behind bars, singing the 'Tears of the Iron Window' every day.

"Cycli, Cycli~"

Completely unaware of what it had done, Cyclizar was happily rummaging through a nearby trash can, scaring away the surrounding stray Meowth.

Hoshino glanced at the commotion, then picked up a broken cardboard box at his feet and tapped Cyclizar on the head, shouting, "Don't touch the homeless's treasure chest! Even if we're down and out, we can't stoop to this!"

"Cycli?"

Cyclizar looked back, then closed the trash can lid, returned to his side, and squatted down, wagging its tail continuously.

"Seriously… I still need to teach you some common sense, lest you get yourself into trouble one day."

Hoshino sighed, but after resting for a while, his body had recovered.

If he wanted to ride Cyclizar normally in the future, he would still need a riding suit to better utilize his talent.

However, he wasn't sure where to get such a thing right now.

He should find a place to stay first… Hmm, he might also need to avoid police wanted posters, and it would be best if he could find an opportunity to leave Alola.

He directly opened the map to confirm his location.

Although there were Pokémon in need of help displayed around him, it was better not to be too ostentatious for now.

He would deal with the current matters first before anything else.

Currently, he was near the beach area of Hau'oli City.

This was a popular tourist area, but only limited to the beach; there were generally few people in the alleys.

"I have to say, Hau'oli City is really big, but as a popular tourist city, housing prices must be terrifying.

Ordinary people probably can't afford a house even if they work their whole lives, which means there are many abandoned buildings that no one buys!"

"Places near the beach and schools are definitely out of the question.

Those near Mount Lanakila… are indeed average, without too many entertainment facilities, and you can't get to Iki Town from here, but there should be many people living here, and everyone isn't stupid."

"I still need to check… Hmm? What's this area? Why isn't there a single shop or anything marked?"

Hoshino's gaze suddenly locked onto an area north of Hau'oli City.

Strangely, there were no small locations marked here at all.

It should be known that on this map, other places even had convenience stores marked, which was truly too strange.

When he zoomed the map to its maximum, he finally saw the name and description of this street.

"Wanderer District… a place where stray Pokémon live.

Please do not approach without permission?"

Hoshino silently repeated it several times, then fell into thought.

If no humans lived in this place, there naturally wouldn't be supermarkets.

It was impossible for Pokémon to open shops, that would be too absurd.

And this place seemed very suitable for him.

If few people approached it normally, it meant he could live there for free and hide.

The presence of so many stray Pokémon around also meant he could help them at any time!

Cast a wide net; with so many, he couldn't believe he wouldn't get a single talent!

"But in such an obvious place, I should have quite a few neighbors, right?"

He didn't believe that other poor people wandering in big cities couldn't find such an obvious place to live, so he still had to scout it out first, lest he accidentally take someone else's home.

By long-pressing on the location of the Wanderer District with his finger, the map would instantly display the shortest distance from his current location, and he could even choose to avoid areas with surveillance and high foot traffic.

"Much easier to use than that unethical map.

Let's go, maybe we'll have a place to stay tonight."

"Cycli, Cycli~"

"Don't just blindly run off again.

The speed limit in the city is 50; you run at 30, that's enough.

And don't just randomly pick fights with other Pokémon.

I'll teach you the rest slowly on the way, understand?!"

"Cycli, Cycli~"

Cyclizar didn't know if it had listened, always wearing a cheerful expression, and directly pounced on him, using the hands that had just rummaged through the trash can, then hugged him and bit him on the head.

"So tired…"

Hoshino was somewhat lifeless.

Why was it so easy for others to transmigrate, given a Rowlet, put on clothes, and become invincible, while his own transmigration experience was like riding a roller coaster…

But no matter how tired he was, he still had to stand up.

A man, as they say, must not give up!

Even if it means sacrificing some things!

Like his vir—… integrity, like his face, everything except ○○ can be sacrificed!

He forcefully rolled over, broke free, and with a golden spin, he rode onto Cyclizar's back.

With a person on its back, Cyclizar immediately entered a ready-to-run state.

Evidently, it really liked having someone ride on its back.

"Let's go!"

"Cycli!"

Cyclizar carried him and ran directly into the depths of the alley.

This time, there were finally no surprises; the speed wasn't too fast, which also put Hoshino at ease.

Walking through these secluded alleys in the city, the surrounding scenery was hard to imagine still being within Hau'oli City.

Along the way, there were occasionally trash bags thrown down from above, and some stray Meowth and Rattata were rummaging through them, searching for their food for the day.

However, they were very keen.

Upon hearing Cyclizar's running sound, they immediately cautiously hid until the sound faded away before daring to reappear.

This also allowed Hoshino to see another side of this so-called "city brimming with joy and peace."

Such a huge contrast made him feel as if he was experiencing the gap between high and low.

"Is it the same even in this world? It's just that most of the subjects have shifted to Pokémon, the Wanderer District…"

"I'm afraid there are many Pokémon like this there, too, right?

And my goal is to help them?

But can I do it?

I can't even support myself and Cyclizar right now…"

These questions suddenly popped into Hoshino's mind, but then these impure thoughts were thrown to the back of his mind.

He would think about problems when he encountered them.

The most important thing right now was to find a place to stay…

After a long time, after Cyclizar continuously passed through various alleys, they finally successfully reached their destination.

If they didn't take the small paths, there was only one main road to enter, and that road had long been closed to traffic, with no one on it.

"Is this the Wanderer District?"

Hoshino looked at the seemingly lifeless, abandoned street in the distance, but it felt as if many eyes were hidden there, staring at him from outside.

This place, compared to the outside world, was like the difference between an old town and a new city.

As far as the eye could see, the tallest buildings were no more than five stories high, all old houses from twenty or thirty years ago, and striking red warning signs were visible everywhere at the street entrance.

It was hard to imagine such a place existing within Hau'oli City and not being demolished and developed by certain individuals to sell houses.

"It feels a bit strange…"

Hoshino couldn't pinpoint what was strange, but when he looked at the map again, a large number of shiny spots had appeared on it.

A quick glance showed over fifty, more than in the wild!

Seeing this, a smile immediately appeared on his face: "I came to the right place after all.

Let's go in."

He didn't dismount from Cyclizar but rode it in, not too fast.

However, just as he ignored those signs and truly entered the Wanderer District, his body trembled violently.

In an instant, it was as if those gazes had completely used Lock-On on them, and a threatening warning erupted, ready to instantly kill them.

Cyclizar felt the incoming aura; its body reacted instinctively, unconsciously closing its eyes then suddenly opening them.

Its black pupils at this moment actually transformed into a colorful OLED dot matrix!

At this moment, it was as if purple electricity flashed in the surrounding air, and the next second, all those gazes disappeared, making it feel like an illusion.

Cold sweat seeped from Hoshino's forehead.

He hadn't noticed Cyclizar's abnormality, only observing his surroundings, muttering, "What was that just now?

I didn't run into some goblin's nest, did I…?"
