Chapter 43 - A City in the Sky.

Daniel and the others landed in the City in the Sky known commonly as Olympias. It was bustling and commerce was abundant. When they arrived, there were merchants around every corner selling their numerous wares. They arrived at the Wizard Belthazar's house and quickly went to sleep but in the middle of the night a loud noice was heard and became apparent very quickly that the city was under attack. They quickly learned the city was being attacked by an army of demons. After arriving in the King's Castle they realize that the culprit leading the Demon Hordes is no other than Lord Tep's main underling 'Spring-Heeled Jack.' Ungar and Jack battled for a good while but eventually Jack attacked Luna which angered Tatu but made Oliver fly into a blind rage. Turning into a terrible demon himself he attacked Jack head on and the two fought neck to neck. Jack reveals the truth about Oliver that he is the bastard-son of Lord Tep from when Lord Tep raped his human-mother in another timeline and reality in England around the year 1,000 CE during the height of the Middle Ages. When Oliver was 12 years old his mother died of a cancer that was given to her by Lord Tep through intercourse. Oliver originally "Oliver," vowed to kill Lord Tep he made some friends who were also monsters the two Vampire Twins at the beginning of the story Edward and Elsa also from England in the same timeline whom he met as a teenager. But all of his fellow ordinary human-beings treated him like a monster as since he was a half-demon whenever he became angry he would turn into his demonic-form. From that point on he would come to believe that all non-monsters and non-demons would never accept him and he would always be seen as a monster.

Overtime he became to believe it. This is all revealed in a flashback. He vowed to kill his father and than kill himself as he saw himself as a mistake and an evil blight upon this world. After reliving these horrible memories Oliver goes beserk just as Jack had intended. Ungar and Tatu are in shock. "Well there you have it. This is who this boy truly is no better than any of the monsters that you've vowed to fight." said Jack. Tentacles begin to spring from his body and he begins to resemble a Lovecraftian Horror-Monster but Luna jumps in and hugs him. "Stop you're not a monster Oliver!" says Luna. Luna is able to proclaim her love finally and isn't able to keep it a secret any more. Oliver breaks down and although he doesn't hurt her directly the demon energy he's putting out begins to hurt her. She collapses and Jack tries to shoot a blast of energy at her. But Oliver knocks the attack back at Jack which Jack swiftly dodges. "Stay away from her!" says Oliver. Oliver tells Tatu to take her somewhere safe like Merlin's Hideout and to return when he can. Since Tatu is Luna's Care-Taker he agrees to do this. Meanwhile while the others are fighting outside fighting the Demonic Hordes in the city Daniel decides he is headed towards the castle disobeying Ungar's orders. Ungar the Warlock and Oliver in his controlled demonic-form attempt to fight Jack at first with some success but its soon revealed that Jack was simply toying with them. And it soon proves clear that Ungar and Oliver's attempts to defeat Jack are nothing less than futile. Daniel decides to help when he realizes Luna one of his friends was critically hurt and this anger makes him fly into a rage which gives his silver hair and glowing eyes. Daniel has a great battle with Spring-Heeled Jack for some time but its clear that Jack cannot touch him in this God-Like Form.

Daniel defeated Jack and before Jack explained before he died he explains that though he falls Lord Vagros and Lord Tep will destroy them and that this brave new world free of mortals is upon us. He explains that Vagros under direction of Lord Tep is headed straight for the Lost City of Raley'h under the Great Sea. Once Lord Tep is killed all of the Demons disintegrate and the battle is over. Magus speaks to the king on behalf of the heroes as they are headed directly towards the city as they have to beat Vagros to the City of R'lyeh and to the book of the Dead. It's revealed that Vagros willingly surrenders his body and dies forever to be a temporary vessel for Lord Tep so he can kill the Grand Priest of R'lyeh Cthulhu and get his true form back by obtaining the Book of the Dead within the Celestial Pyramid inside the Book of the Dead. The heroes and Lord Tep are now both headed directly towards the Lost City of R'lyeh with Lord Tep inside the body of the demon Vagros having a head start. Oliver still believes he is a monster but that image after centuries is finally beginning to change.
