Deep within Kira's mind, her consciousness awakened in confusion.
"Did I survive?" she thought, trying to figure out where she was; however, everything felt like a dream.
She tried several methods to wake herself up, but her mind did not follow her commands. Drifting through her final memories, she speculated that, due to the injuries caused by the explosion, she must have fallen into a coma.
"What do I do now?" Kira assumed that her body had not recovered yet, although, thanks to her powerful psyche, she had awakened within her subconscious.
At that moment, she received a notification from her system.

Random Reward Obtained: "Dragon Ball - Hyperbolic Time Chamber"
Description:An isolated existential plane; one year inside is equivalent to one day on Earth. Unlike its counterpart from the Dragon Ball anime, there is a change adapted to the user's situation.
User Kira Tokugawa Kure: Due to her injuries, the system grants her the ability to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber under certain rules.
Regardless of how much time she requires to recover and awaken, the maximum time she can use the chamber is one year.
The habitable area possesses conditions identical to the Earth where she lives; however, as she moves farther away, the conditions progressively change.
Atmospheric pressure and temperature increase as she moves away from the safe zone.
Another important detail: when leaving the chamber, her physical body will not reflect the year that passed inside. Her biological age will remain at 11 years old.]
…
Kira noticed how her subconscious changed, being transported to a space identical to the interior of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
"It would be nice if my real body was here too." Kira looked at herself, completely free of injuries.
With her medical knowledge, she knew it was highly likely that she would lose her right arm and left leg. The wounds caused by the explosion had severely destroyed those limbs.
Kira explored the interior of the habitable area. It contained three rooms: a bedroom with a small bed, a kitchen with a food storage area, and a training room.
When she left the habitable area, she was greeted by a landscape identical to the one shown in the anime: a flat world, with white ground, illuminated by an endless light descending from above.
"I cannot remain weak. I must perfect the basic principles of Nen and learn its advanced techniques." Kira remembered her soldiers. They were men under her command… and they had died.
The Shinsengumi was a joke. No… Kira knew the real joke was herself. Her men were weak, she was weak… but that would change once she awakened.
"I will become strong. I will never be a nobody again." With absolute determination, she sat at the edge of the safe zone.
With her legs crossed, she began practicing Ten, Ren, and Zetsu. To improve her control, she constantly repeated the techniques.
Isaac Netero meditated for four years on the mountain without eating or drinking, achieving absolute enlightenment.
Kira wanted to replicate something similar. Although she only had one year available, she aimed to fully understand the principles of Nen and reach or practice its advanced techniques.
She understood her situation: when she awakened, she would most likely no longer have her right arm or left leg. Becoming disabled would be the end for a martial artist.
"Nen is the expression of willpower. During this year, I must discover my Hatsu." Kira was a diligent student; her greatest strength was discipline.
A baby first learns to crawl before walking… and Kira was still a baby when it came to Nen.
…
While Kira remained inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, a storm unfolded in the real world.
BOOOM!
The sound of the Shinsengumi headquarters explosion reached the Minor Mansion. From inside, several people rushed out into the courtyard to see what was happening.
"Madam…" A servant spoke as she watched a cloud of light forming.
"Kira… that is the direction of the Shinsengumi." Nanami spoke with fear; shortly afterward, the shockwave reached the mansion.
"Protect Madam." The guards of the compound surrounded Nanami's body to shield her.
Quickly, the light from the explosion dissipated, returning darkness to the night.
"Kenzo… Kira, what is happening?" Kenzo, who had just returned from work, also witnessed the shockwave.
Nanami, desperate, ran toward him. Kenzo felt fear, but managed to control his panic.
"That could have been a thermal bomb… the air is hot." He spoke with a heavy voice. He remembered nuclear bombs, and his mind told him it was impossible for his daughter to have survived.
"I'll call Father!" Nanami suggested.
"First, we must explain what happened to him. We need protective suits to enter the explosion area." Kenzo replied; he did not claim that his daughter had survived, but he refused to accept her death.
…
The next day, all personnel from Japan's Ministry of the Environment mobilized.
In the forest behind the Tokugawa Minor Mansion, several people wearing radiation protection suits advanced toward the epicenter.
"Near the epicenter, at 300 meters, our meters are recording high temperatures… a sign of thermal radiation." An agent reported through the communicator.
At the mansion, several soldiers wearing military uniforms waited for orders.
"Prime Minister, my granddaughter is in there. Ask him if it is possible to enter the forest." Mitsunari Tokugawa shouted; the Prime Minister tried to calm him down.
"Mr. Tokugawa, this is procedure. We do not know if this is a nuclear attack." He attempted to explain.
"All personnel entering the forest must inspect every tree and every rock. Find Kira." Mitsunari ordered his bodyguards.
Using his influence, he mobilized the Director General of Japan's Defense Agency. Thirty percent of the Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF) was deployed.
"All squads, search the forest for Miss Kira." The general ordered.
The forest was covered by multiple units. Among them were also members of the Kure clan.
The best assassins of the clan were sent. Thanks to them, it took no more than five hours before they found her.
The one who found her was Hollis Kure, who returned to the mansion carrying Kira's body in his arms.
"Doctor… she needs a doctor!" he shouted, placing her on a stretcher.
"Kira… please… no, no… darling, open your eyes." Nanami, with tears in her eyes, embraced her daughter's body.
"Madam, we must take her into surgery immediately." The doctor informed her; with a signal, the nurses took the stretcher to the operating room.
Kenzo, anticipating the situation, had prepared a fully equipped medical facility to treat her.
"Nanami… she will be fine." Kenzo hugged his wife.
Although he saw Kira's condition —almost lifeless— his hope did not disappear.
…
Back in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Kira was somewhat far away from the safe zone.
At that distance, her body endured two atmospheres of pressure and, for the moment, was exposed to 20 degrees Celsius. However, that temperature could suddenly drop to -5 degrees.
"Damn… why am I so hungry? The first thing I'll do when I get out of here is eat a feast." Kira thought, feeling her stomach protest.
One could already imagine what she was doing. If someone looked toward the safe zone, they would see two hourglasses on both sides, both halfway empty. This indicated that Kira had spent half a year inside the chamber.
During all that time, as a faithful follower of Isaac Netero's method, she had not consumed any food at any point. Added to that, the hostile environment kept her body under constant stress.
"Now I can maintain the state of Ten unconsciously… the advanced techniques are mine." Kira slowly stood up to return to the safe zone.
Now, transformed into a Nen master, she walked without showing any exhaustion. However, despite her understanding, her power was still inferior to that of an experienced master from the world of Hunter x Hunter.
Understanding Nen techniques was not equivalent to possessing large amounts of aura. Her body was still weak, incapable of enduring a massive release of energy.
Inside the resting room, Kira sat on the bed and picked up a curious object that rested on it.
"Alright… there should be progress today." She thought while observing the bio-mask in her hands.
Kira was not only training; she was also analyzing the Yautja technology she had obtained from the Predator. Her objective was to understand the Yautja language and decipher the functions of the bio-mask.
She believed that the mask could contain a tracker and that, upon leaving the chamber, she could be located. In the Predator movies, it is suggested that bio-masks store information. Kira suspected that they functioned like a type of portable computer and that, if her hypothesis was correct, the mask could be connected to the Yautja ship belonging to the one she had killed.
"Yautja technology will be mine… this is the price for destroying the entire Shinsengumi." She thought, placing the mask over her face.
Inside the helmet, several rune-like symbols began to appear. Slowly, even without understanding their meaning, she began selecting them.
Kira discovered that the commands responded intuitively, reacting to mental patterns.
"Huh… these are videos." Kira noticed as one of them began playing.
Thwei Yin!
Words from the bio-mask's owner could be heard.
Surprise!
Suddenly, the Yautja was ambushed by a trio of its own kind. A battle broke out, and he managed to kill them with ease. While observing the corpses, Kira noticed the absence of weapons on them.
"They are… Bad Bloods." She guessed.
At that moment, the Yautja wearing the bio-mask lowered its gaze toward its chest.
Cjit, u'si-kwe!
A voice sounded behind him, and instantly, a spear pierced through his chest.
The Yautja fell to the ground. His body was turned face-up, allowing Kira to see the attacker. He had a similar build, but only carried a wrist blade with a retractable edge and, in his dominant hand, a spear.
"Shriek!" The Yautja roared, raising his weapon as a sign of victory.
Then he took the bio-mask and placed it on himself. Now, the perspective showed the wounded Yautja.
Finally, he pierced his head with the spear.
The video ended.
"So… that's how he obtained all his weapons. He stole them." Kira reached that conclusion.
It was likely that the initial Yautja was a "Young Blood" who had been repeatedly ambushed by "Bad Bloods". He managed to defeat them, but one of them, hidden away, delivered a fatal blow from behind.
"That is why I was able to kill him so easily." Kira concluded that this enemy was an inexperienced hunter pretending to be one.
She reached that conclusion by analyzing her own battle: that Yautja had been nothing more than a novice carrying dangerous weapons.
In the same way, she managed to decipher the functions of the bio-mask: vision modes, movement detection, plasmacaster control, biological scanning, and target evaluation. The entire advanced interface was progressively understood by Kira.
…
In the real world, time passed.
Mitsunari Tokugawa used his influence to suppress the news.
Despite the investigations, the cause of the explosion was never discovered. The public was informed that an unknown individual had detonated explosives.
The Japanese population did not investigate too deeply. During that period, the collapse of the economic and real estate bubble kept society concerned with other matters.
The Kure clan searched for any trace of the culprit for two months, without success.
The search extended throughout the forest. The only unusual discovery was finding several dead wild animals… without having been eaten.
This ruled out natural predators.
Without results, Erioh Kure decided to wait for his granddaughter to awaken… or for the other survivor to provide information.
Kanou was found a few meters away from Kira. Compared to her, his injuries were minor. His recovery would take time, but he would not suffer permanent consequences.
Like Kira, he was also in a coma, but only for one month. Upon awakening, he did not remember what happened. His mind had most likely blocked the memories because it was unable to process the event.
The only hope remained Kira.
Currently, she remained under care in a medical room inside the Tokugawa Minor Mansion.
Nanami and Kenzo never left her side. They spoke to her every day, as if she could hear them, hoping that she would awaken.
…
At the beginning of 1992, inside a medical room prepared for coma patients, Kira's body rested on a bed.
An intravenous tube was connected to her left arm, supplying her with nutrients.
Suddenly, her eyes opened.
She observed her surroundings… and her condition.
Just as she had predicted, her right arm and left leg had been amputated.
"I woke up." She murmured, noticing her clothing: a white kimono.
Out of curiosity, she smelled her own body. The sterile scent of the hospital filled her senses.
"This smell… is comforting." She thought.
She had spent a year without bathing inside the Time Chamber, and during that time, her scent had not been pleasant at all.
"One year… but how long was I asleep?" She wondered, feeling her body numb.
She activated her Nen to stimulate her organism. Within seconds, the exhaustion and muscle atrophy disappeared.
At that moment, someone entered the room.
"Darling… sniff… sniff! You woke up… thank you… I thought I would never see you again…" Nanami, sobbing, ran to hug her.
"Mom… I love you." Kira wrapped her only arm around her and breathed in her scent with a faint smile.
Her mother's scent deeply comforted her. For Kira, a year had passed since the last time she had seen her.
They remained embraced for a long time… until Nanami, exhausted, fell asleep in her arms.
"Mom… I'm sorry for worrying you." Kira whispered, carefully arranging her beside her.
In Hunter x Hunter, every Nen user develops a unique ability called Hatsu, born from introspection, training, and personal affinity.
Kira was an exception.
Thanks to her knowledge, her mind, and her condition as a reincarnated person, she managed to develop two Hatsu abilities.
In her previous life, she was a logical and methodical person who advanced at her own pace. In her current life, influenced by the power of the system, she became more arrogant, manipulative, and capricious.
Both personalities merged into one.
For that reason, Kira developed two abilities.
Her affinities were Manipulation and Transmutation.
Her Manipulation-type Hatsu was named:
Cellular Dominion: Consciousness Network.
The user manipulates their own body on a biological level, allowing them to divide it into multiple functional duplicates. Each body is a real fraction of the original, all connected through a single mental network.
Her total power is distributed equally among the bodies she divides herself into. The more bodies exist, the lower the individual capacity of each one becomes.
Additionally, she can regenerate tissue through the consumption of Nen, spending biological energy: body mass, calories, and aura. She cannot create matter from nothing. When dividing herself and creating physical clones, her consciousness remains active in each body in real time, achieving perfect coordination, but generating a cognitive burden.
Her second Hatsu, of the Transmutation type, is:
Puppet: Fiber Tissue.
The user transforms their aura, granting their body effects such as structural fibers similar to tendons and reinforced tissues, and can also give it wood-like properties like any puppet. This allows them to move even with severe damage.
It can function as a living puppet, ignoring temporary physical limitations. Even critical injuries do not stop its movement as long as the damaged parts remain within the user's aura range.
However, it cannot regenerate any limb if it is completely destroyed.
While the Hatsu remains active, the user's body temporarily abandons its biological nature and acquires the physical properties of a puppet made of fibers and wood. During this state, injuries are governed by the characteristics of a puppet rather than those of a living organism. Separated parts can be reassembled using the user's aura, immediately recovering their functionality. Once the technique ends, the body returns to its biological nature while retaining the physical state in which it remained after the transformation.
Energy consumption is high, and if the aura flow is interrupted, her body immediately loses those properties.
…
Currently, Kira understood her abilities, but in combat, she still needed to perfect them.
Due to her lack of nutrients, she could only create one duplicate.
For now, she could only use her Transformation Hatsu, optimizing the use of her divided power.
She could not only duplicate herself. Her true potential resided in regeneration. With enough Nen and biological energy, restoring her body was not impossible.
Inside the training room, Kira devised multiple ways to replace the limbs she had lost due to the explosion… and from that desire, her Manipulation Hatsu was born.
…
On the night of the same day Kira awakened, she indulged in a great feast.
Regardless of the situation, she ate as if she were ten people. Kira had spent a year surviving solely through Ten. Thanks to that, she now maintained it unconsciously.
In front of her, only the sound of plates and cutlery broke the silence. Sitting together before Kira were her parents, as well as her paternal and maternal grandparents.
"Can she really eat this much after just waking up from a coma?" Kenzo, her father, asked his wife, who had been the first to see Kira awaken.
"The doctor performed tests and said it doesn't seem like she was ever in a coma. Her body is completely healthy. She has only lost some body mass… and…" Nanami answered softly. She did not know why, but she felt she should not say anything that could alarm her daughter.
"And her eyes? What happened? Why have they changed? She looks like a Kure now, not a Tokugawa." Mitsunari asked, observing the obvious change in Kira.
"The doctor doesn't know. He says more tests need to be performed." Nanami replied, unable to provide an explanation.
Instinctively, she looked toward her father, hoping for an answer. As the patriarch of the Kure clan, she trusted his knowledge.
"It is something strange, but it could be a reaction from her body after being subjected to such stress. The members of the Kure clan have developed a particular biology. Our blood possesses 25 types of endorphins, and thanks to that, we are prepared to perform secret techniques." Erioh explained calmly while observing his granddaughter.
He did not say it openly, but he could perceive Kira's will and spirit. She was someone completely different from the person he had known. At first glance, she appeared relaxed, but in reality, she was ready for combat.
"…"
For an instant, Erioh Kure opened his eyes in surprise as he sensed a presence: a female specter that seemed to manifest behind Kira.
"Father… you were saying?" The others noticed nothing, but Erioh understood what was happening.
Kira was in a state of alert. Perhaps it was a consequence of what had happened; her body was prepared to fight at any moment. Her spirit and will were so intense that they seemed to materialize. Only a veteran martial artist could perceive something like that.
"No… it is nothing. Well, continuing. Since Kira is part of the Kure clan, those genes were dormant, and what happened caused them to awaken." Erioh concluded. He did not say it directly, but he believed Kira now possessed the potential to learn the clan's secret technique.
He looked at Kira, who had just finished eating. Her new gaze swept over everyone present.
"The food is very good." That was the only thing she said, accompanying it with a faint smile.
Now, her sclera was completely black. Her gray iris had changed into a pale white, and her pupil was also black. Her black hair had turned white as snow.
Kira was not sure; she needed to perform some tests, but she believed that her Kure blood had awakened after mastering the concepts of Nen. Now, she herself could not stop looking at her face reflected on the metal plate.
