For the next few days, Ivory made little progress; she had not even gotten close to 50% done. At this point, she had already far surpassed the number of attempts Koji executed trying to complete this daunting task.
Her hands shook in utter anger as she failed once again; expectedly, she was now doing noticeably worse; of course, the main factor in this was her emotions.
How am I supposed to do this? It's impossible!
However, even though her resolve had wavered quite a bit, she still had some traces of fight left in her.
Through this, she kept trying even though she was still extremely discouraged.
Failure, after failure, after failure; currently, success seemed like a mere hopeless wish.
She grew even more sick of it as she kept trying and trying; at one point, she was finally unable to keep going.
However, it was not due to her anger now; it was because of the intense pain striking her in the head--the nausea was also extremely unbearable.
Her delicate hands and appearance were casted by a hint of green as her head was spinning in circles.
'Damn, she's fucking out of it.'
Koji couldn't help but be surprised; seeing the young girls face twist in pure nausea--her whole face looked like she wanted to throw her guts up. Her dark green eyes were closer to the shade of her skin now than her white hair was! In short, the sight was definitely shocking to see.
'She needs to chill on this shit; she's really gonna get herself hurt!'
'I can't even enjoy her suffering at all, honestly it is just sad to see her in this pitiful of a state...'
He watched as Lin ran to Ivory's side, rubbing her back trying to comfort her.
Lin's expression was of worry and pity, after all Ivory was his own daughter; he hated seeing her in such a state. In fact, it deeply troubled him seeing her like this; due to that, training was probably over for the day.
"Ivory, sweetie you need to take a break; stop pushing yourself so much."
Lin didn't hesitate to express his concern for Ivory, of course that didn't mean that he wasn't proud of her for working so hard.
'Something about seeing a grown ass man call a little girl sweetie...'
He knew it wasn't weird, however Koji still didn't like witnessing such 'cringe' things such as this.
'Ha, when Ivory becomes my bride and my love, she will despise this giant father of hers! I will leave no room for her to love another man!'
Koji couldn't help giggle as he had this thought; it was an important part in his plans to make Ivory his woman one day.
'Well, I am thankful for Lin; that doesn't mean I will simply let Ivory see him everyday! When I have a castle she will be locked inside of it and only able to speak to me, yes, this is my dream!'
Koji was now getting lost in this futuristic fantasy of his.
'Hehehe, oh it will be amazing! It shall be easy too, all I have to do is push through these couple of years, start dating her and then eventually make her love me!'
Of course, it was not going to be as easy as he was telling himself in his head, but Koji still felt he had the ability to achieve such a thing.
'Phew, I'm glad that I am hot on this world.. If I wasn't I would have to resort to much darker methods to obtain a woman.'
Moving on...
'Hm, but what if she finds someone hotter than me at the Academy! No, this won't happen; she is already attached to me.... Well, I think she is at least.'
'What am I saying? Of course she is!'
Koji was sure that Ivory was very attached to him up to this point; he was not someone who was completely full of himself and saying this out of arrogance, on the contrary to that, it was just pure observation!
'Eh, I can't keep thinking of such futuristic matters! A truly great man is concerned with the now, not the future! Wait, hmm.... How can I make that sound cool? Ah! A great man concerns himself only with matters of the present, as the present paves the road to the future.'
Recently, Koji has decided to make 'quotes' for his ideas.
'Every one has profound meaning within! Hehehe, although I should probably restate great man as something else... After all, I don't even think great men exist!'
For some reason, Koji was feeling a very certain way today; that way could be described as unusually optimistic. Of course, Koji usually is relatively happy but not to this degree.
Even seeing Ivory struggle over and over, it couldn't waver his great mood!
'A fools mood depend on the mood of others, while my feelings only depend on my own actions!'
'Eh, well that is saying I think I am better than others. Indeed I have lots of contradictions to fill out, ugh this is very annoying! However, I must attend to this at once. There is no space for contradictions!'
Meanwhile, Ivory was still devastated.
"Daddy! Koji did it so quickly, why can't I?!"
Lin was trying his best to comfort Ivory, but it was not going as he expected.
"Listen sweetie, you shouldn't compare yourself to others; it will only bring you displeasure."
'Ha! Foolish old man, comparison is only the thief of joy if you treat comparison as the master instead of the slave; one must use comparison to his advantage!'
Koji would indeed yell this without hesitation if this was under normal circumstances; sadly, he was currently a child so saying this would not be going according to his act.
"But still daddy! He is younger than me and can do it so much easier!"
Lin's face contorted in pity and confusion; he had no idea how to comfort Ivory here.
"Well... At least I can still beat him in every fight! It doesn't matter if he can do this, he's still weak!"
Ivory blurted this out with newfound joy, meanwhile Koji frowned.
'She is lucky I'm not strong yet, otherwise I would destroy her for such words!'
